A jury in Federal Court proceedings in Oklahoma City has awarded a judgment against the ABC Race Association (part of the Ponca City AMBUCS) in favor of the National Motosport Association (NMA). The breach of contract lawsuit was filed by NMA in connection with the NMA Grand National Championship Motocross race held for 33 years at the Jack Blevins Motocross Park in Ponca City, OK according to Ron Henricksen, President of NMA. NMA’s position was that ABC Race improperly terminated the contract with two years remaining. The jury agreed with NMA and returned a verdict in NMA’s favor.
The Ponca City track was discovered by the NMA with the first NMA Ponca City Grand National Championship held there 34 years ago. The improvements to the property over the years are a result of many NMA man hours and dollars which transformed it into a nationally known motocross facility. NMA Grand National Championship Motocross had always been a major economic boost to Ponca City.
The 38th NMA Grand National Motocross Championship will be presented at the OKLAHOMA MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX in Norman, a suburb of Oklahoma City, the new location of the Grand Nationals. This year’s event will be held July 21 through July 27, 2013 at this great location. The OMC location offers many conveniences to the racer families including 400 restaurants, major shopping malls, cycle shops, excellent hotel accommodations and is a short distance from the airport in Oklahoma City.
Qualifying races for the 2013 NMA Grand National Motocross Championship are currently being scheduled in the 34 regions across the country. The dates and locations of the qualifiers can be found at www.nmamx.com. The NMA and the OKLAHOMA MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX look forward to presenting a great 38th Annual NMA Grand National Championship Motocross at the new location.

Congratulations on winning a lawsuit against a non-profit organization that helps disabled children. How much was sued for and how much was won? I'm guessing not enough to pay NMA's legal bills. Victory is in the eye of the beholder.
Ron Henrickson is a complete dirt bag. Not trustworthy and not needed in American motocross.
I'll just say that Ron Henricksen has always treated me just fine, and I thank him for his massive contribution to American motocross. His life's work is why America makes the fastest motocrossers on Earth. The NMA gives young riders a framework within which to grow into pros and champions. Ponca, the World Mini, and I can't tell you all the fun I had at Starwest, riding at night during the week. I wouldn't want to put on races or maintain a motocross track. I thank God for all those who are willing to do it.
As for the Ponca lawsuit, I know nothing about it and can't comment on it.
