Perfect day for racing here at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, it's just slightly overcast with temps in the 70s. Also, the pressure and hype has died way down since the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross season started here a month ago--we're now into the long slog of the season, as opposed to the crazy nerves at the opener.
Not too much to report so far. The track looks pretty basic. There are two whoop sections, but one is located right after a basic double, so the riders can approach it with plenty of speed and get up on the top. The second is actually downhill, with a single-to-table above it, and the whoops then running downhill after that. In the untimed sessions, the only major difference we've seen is James Stewart jumping over a table top that everyone else is landing on. But it's early in the day, and we expect others will soon figure that out. Beyond that, it could come down to who can handle the slick track conditions best.
More to come!
