I think Tomac can pull it off. It is going to be interesting to see who can get up there and steal points away and vice versa. Seely can play a big spoiler for Tomac and Roczen.

if the 250 sx class now earns points for a national number then they need to make this class a national championship class , east and west together !

4 rounds down.... and 5 left? I thought there were only 8 250 rounds on each coast. I'm guessing the final in Vegas is also a points round for both classes?

Lady luck can be fickle, she can take you to the dance or leave you to mayhem..This week, she left Eli and mayhem stepped in an ruined his dance night....Will she go steady with Kenny the rest of the season or just string him along a couple races before allowing mayhem to cut in???

Tomac has not given up so he is still in it !!

Look at the picture posted on Eli's twitter account this morning. Pair that face with The Rock's comment about how Eli was more mad at himself than injured after Oakland and I say look out west coast riders. Eli will be stronger than we have seen yet this season.

K-Roc was looking really good last weekend and *might* have beaten ET straight up, but I think that for the most part, you have their names backwards in your paragraph.

To me, he seemed a little distracted with the 250F West campaign anyway.

Maybe this will be what he needs to motivate himself.

That said, I like the idea of Roczen winning the title, it sure isn't like Tomac needs this title to fill his resume. He has a better shot than Barcia (did) to land the next big contract.

Aren't the first and third choice kind of the same? It's like questions on political polls. Do you think this candidate is the best in the history of politics or should he be voted out?

He controls his own destiny. If he wins out, the title is his.

Anyone who says Tomac cant beat Roczen straight up doesnt seem to have watched the first 3 races of the season! Tomac destroyed Roczen in each and every one of them! If Tomac wins the next 5 races (which he can) and Roczen crashes in maybe one of them and gets a third of fourth then he will be easily in striking distance for the championship!

Pitbull, have you watched a race this year? While its true that Roczen is riding fast, Tomac has stepped it up and smoked him every race where they've gone head to head so far this year. If you are basing your comments off the timed practice laps, you need to realize that Tomac is a RACER, not a practice lap rider.

It is true that Tomac has recorded some fast lap times during practice, but he also turns it up to an even faster pace during the race.

Roczen is riding very fast and smooth, but I will call it now- Tomac will beat Roczen straight up several times during the remaining races. Roczen is very lucky Tomac had a bad night because he can't match Tomac's speed in races.

I'm a KROC fan but the way Eli has been riding is a thing of beauty. But he's gonna need a little help to pull this off after last Saturday.

@11shv - not to get too mathematical, but ET controls his own destiny. If he wins out, it doesn't matter what anyone else does, he's the champ. The most consistant of the top 3 will win the 250W, should be some good racing.

It's always funny to see someone (like Pitbull) take 3 races where Tomac wins handily, ignore them......then take one race where he crashes out and Roczen wins....and declare Roczen now clearly has Tomac covered. Tomac still owns the class right now until Roczen passes him and wins or holds him off. Roczen has the paved road for the title now though. Can he keep from giving back points now? It's too bad Eli went over his head and crashed out. 6th or 8th place points would have been quite a bit better than the 20th place points he ended up with.

Kroc rode the wheels off it..the 250 KTM is really fast..as fast as the best J models.....it will go down to the wire....ought to be fantastic racing if they don't get the tracks to where every one gets injured......congrats on the win...nice ride.

Tomac will not beat Roczen the rest of the season. It's called confidence.. And there has been a shift.
Pitbull may be correct.. Obviously Tomac crashed

This isn,t the same as before. Eli is faster than Roczen for sure but Roczen is riding better. If he continues to seconds from now on in there won,t be enough rounds left for him to catch and over take Roczen in the points chase.

Profile Picture
motodog77 wrote: 9:44pm January 28, 2013

@Ultra - quick math lesson: 5 races left: 5 wins * 3 pt variance = 15 pts = championship. Tomac controls his own destiny.

Nobody has talked about Seely......This guy has only been racing the past month since his horrible crash in Salt Lake. Roczen and Tomac raced all Summer, etc. I honestly think Seely is coming into his own and is going to pull the rug out from both Roczen and Tomac. The kid is improving every weekend. I think Seely will win the West Coast Lites Championship. Great race this weekend Cole, Keep up the good work.

I think everyone concerned is a little more interested in the 250F west title chase now.

IF E.T. doesn't crash, does K-Roc take this win anyway? I think he would have.

I think this puts a lot of emphasis on E.T. to focus on THIS title instead of looking towards 450 racing. His contract is paying him to win 250F races and until Vegas, his focus should be on 250F racing. If you were LaRocco, what would you say?

Profile Picture
carlsbad wrote: 12:13pm January 29, 2013

Also, with K-dub's retirement, there are a lot of ideas inside my head regarding the spot on the 450 seat left vacant.

Short was declined because KW will still do the opening ceremonies???
I understand that is a time where the focus is on KW (GEICO) 100% so it's good exposure, but is that really the answer?

Are they saving the seat for E.T. on the east coast swing? Furthermore, are they saving the spot for E.T. to remain on the team next year when he goes 450 full-time?

Honda has to justify funding E.T. (next season) with Canard & Barcia already on the payroll. That's the most talent on one team BY FAR. Is that even possible in today's economy?

Eli is surely still in it and anything is possible....Kroq looked great at Oakland and got the W, but Kroq is not ammune from crashing - from what I have seen in the past he is quite capable of throuwing it away or subject to losing some points....He had a few close calls in Oakland too....so anything is possible with 5 races left...Eli will surely net a few more wins and gain points....Kroq isnt guarentteed a 2nd place every week.....it will be tough...it will be close...but anything can happen

Pitbull is just straight up retarded. Roczen knows how to win championships? Not in the U.S. Eli can't win from behind? Did'nt watch A2? K-Roc's on fire again? Funny, I've watched the flame burn out twice before. K-Roc is more gifted as a natural all day, but Eli has the maturity and strenght to get it done.

Hey Shitbull, last time I checked championships are different over here. Many have come over World Champions and have gone home defeated and retired. By the way Shitbull, you act just like the rest of the blinded super fans only looking at what they want to see on the track. You continue to make excuses for your boyfriend only to point out the same issues as weakness or failures for the other riders. According to the rest of the people here you are still the retard, lmao. Justify all you want, it is what it is. lol.

By the way, you can check my stats with Fro, Weege, DC, Johnny O or anybody else who knows what time it is. Go ahead and say something else stupid, this is fun. LOL!

Good lord--Tomac smokes them all in every race, and crashes once and everyone suddendly says he cant beat Roczen??? Even RC said Roczen has been a little disapointing since he hadnt won yet before Oakland, he has been racing supercross long enough, he needed to step it up.. He wins once because Tomac crahsed, and everyone gives the title to Roczen..

Roczen has been very impressive this year, and has a good head on his shoulders. He is a World cahmpion, so we know he knows how to handle the pressure. He's having fun, and now knows that he is in the drivers seat. On the podium after his win, he talked about waiting for a mistake - He's patient and knows he has what it takes to win a title.

Tomac is out right amazing in his tenacity and his determination to win. With his fathers advice, coaching, and influence, Eli will have the confidence he needs to come back and do his thing. When he's on, it will be hard for anyone he is chasing to withstand the constant hounding. He's fast, but he needs to not over-ride that little bike. When he's pushing, it's evident that he's pushing. If he remembers points, and stays in front of the pack, he'll have a great season.

I think Kenny has the upper hand when the tracks are a little more technical, and Tomac seems to excel when he can use his bike to it's full potential and just flat out fly. But do watch for Seeley who has good momentum, experience , and now a boost of confidence leading him into the remainder of the season...

I hope Tomac still gets the chance to race Windham's bike on the East coast, and see where he stands against the 450 guys. I also hope to see Roczen out there on the 350 on the East as well... Here's to wishing everyone stays upright and healthy, good luck guys!
