For me, Milsaps (Unfortunately) was the most suprising. How did Reed's 4-4 even get on this list?

@ carlsbad,, I agree,, Reed is lucky to be in 4th so far.

I'd say.. other..

It's the "big 4's" positions in points.

4th Reed
5th Dungey
7th Villopoto
9th Stewart

The first few rounds always have some carnage....Im not shocked that RV had a bad race and then a good 2nd and Stewart as well for whatever reason....That being said, I dont think anyone would have thought thet Milsaps would be leading after two rounds If not one of the big 5....Reed is certainly off pace but if its just set up issues, Im sure they'll figure it out....James has the knee that is getting better each week hopefully...Trey needs to hault on the mistakes

The good thing is, this season actually has surprises! For to many years, it has been one or two guys, who would dominate. Whether it was due to injures or lack of depth in the field, we pretty much knew who was going to stand on the top step of the podium. The racing future looks bright, with a stacked class this year and all the talent on its way up to the premier division, we should have close competition for the box positions and beyond..

Ha, I'm one of the FEW who thought Barcia winning this early was a surprise, especially the way he did. His starting prowess is huge since the speed is so much closer among the top guys now. I still think that RV and maybe JS, RD and Reed will turn this around but you cannot underestimate Barcia's starts.

Hey BD25

Heres a little twist I was thinking about last evening. Last year JB had the field covered quite easily - and the year before that he handed Wilson his walking papers almost every round - Last year at the east west he won quite comfortably (although Tomac was close) - now one might argue that Tomac is better this year but JB might argue he is better this year as well. My point being is that of the three Tomac, Roczen and Wilson I think Barcia is only concerned with one....I am just trying to set up a scenario for next year whereby lets say RV narrowly wins this thing, next year the feild is deeper yet - and I think we are going to see a new era in speed and technique with JB, ET, TC and RV taking the sport to a new level. I think 2013 and beyond it will be these 4 (judging by the speed they possess)with Villo trailing aff a bit in 2014-15' and Canard trailing off a bit after the 2015' season.

The second tier will be headed by Roczen, Wilson, Dungey and Millsaps.

The third tier (if they are still racing) will be Reed, Stewart, Weimer, Grant, and Short

That blows my mind that guys of this calpiber willl battling to finish inside te top ten - I say the future is bright indeed. - hoping for everyones safety!

Also I wonder if Shift will ever go back to the gear that looks like it has a "7" on it?it is a nightmare for them that Troy lee JSE came out with their line...

RV/Stewy tied for 7th in the points is half right. RV should be up there but isnt which IS weird. RV's blaming the bike set-up... when I see him making excuses I know he's freaked out about it.
Stewy is right about where I expected him to be in points minus a few crashes!
Reed's a little lackluster too, again blaming it on the bike (making excuses) & I hate that!
No excuses! Just ride!

So when Dungey gives his usual vanilla interview about "making progress" and "moving forward", he's boring, but if anybody says anything at all about their bike or injuries, they are making excuses. Would you expect them to say, "The bike is perfect, but I suck"?

@ 21MotoRules

Read Open Mic

RV takes ownership of his slide out....blames it on himself not the bike. He does say they're working on set up but it had nothing to do with his front end washing out.

Excuses, True story: Back in 75/76 at Saddleback, Rocket Rex was smoking everyone on CMC Sundays. Hannah showed up and was an unknown. He beat Rex pretty handily and Rex was pissed. Hannah was pretty proud of himself for beating Rocket Rex Staten as would anyone. The pits were pretty small back then and word got out that Rex said his triple clamp bolt was loose causing the loss. Hannah was mad he used an excuse and went out and beat him by a larger margin in the 2nd moto. After pulling in the pits, Hannah asked if Rex's triple clamp bolt was to tight. Bottom line give the guy who beat you some credit when you know it's the truth.

I'm pretty sure in Reeds interview before the race he said flat out I sucked and that the only thing good is that RV sucked worse. No excuses And even better JS no excuses so i'm going they will be in it till the end. and you can all give me crap at the end of the series if their not. I'm really hoping JS can stick it out because i'm one of his biggest critics and I think he looks better than he's looked in a while (smooth) I'd like to see him race every race even if he doesn't win. he needs to know he can complete the series.

@MXMOFO--I have to disagree, why is Reed lucky to be in 4th??? He has always been fast and prety solid.. Last year is the first time he has finished outof the top 3 since he got into the class on 03.... So why would you say that?? He is very good at supercross.. Guys are flailing all over and swapping out and he is solid as always..

@toothfailry--I know you LOVE Stewart but I wouldnt say anything if I was you.. RV has crashed both races and is tied in points with your boy, and he hasnt crashed, so what does that say for Stewart??

UH, my biggest surprise is that people can't spell MILLSAPS' name right! Two L's! Seriously though, why is everyone surprised? The kid has been around forever and seems to have gotten the kick he needs to amp it up this year. He's not a Stewart, not an RC, not a Reed or RV who is going to come in a dominate all year, every year. He works hard and is out there because he loves it(not saying the other guys don't). He's been there every year and has been consistent with getting 'alright' spots in the points each year. He's still young and still has a lot of potential to show what he's got before he's done.

Millsaps has also lost 40 lb's....for a big guy that's got to help his stamina and athletisism in a big way.....plus his bike looks awesome. When you look good you ride good....never really worked for me but whatever.

Hahahah you guys think Stewart is at 100%? If you really believe Jake Weimer is faster than him....Nevermind i wont question your moto knowledge. I mean at least Stewart has never crashed 3 times in one race. Cough A1 Cough. Have a good time arguing guys =]

@toothfairy--quit whining like a sissyboy, its no wonder nobody pays much attention to your post its always the same crap about Stewie.. Everyone knows he has a knee problem , and he is always making excuses, that is the biggest reason he catches he!!..

And YES Stewart has crashed 3 times in one race before, several times.. He ck he has crashed that many times in practice before I think.. I know he has crashed a couple times in practice, then a few more during the race on the same night.. I wouldnt cut down RV if I was you, Stewart has NEVER beaten him for a title, ever..You just might not be old enough to remember..

I hate when anyone says anything negative about their ride, it is called an excuse. When someone sticks a microphone in your face and asks,"What happened out there?" is the only acceptable answer "I suck!" to explain anything less than a win? Stewart's knee is most definitely NOT an excuse, it is a REASON. Most likely he has ligament damage of some sort and is just toughing it out, yet people are still crapping on him. The weirdest thing I'm seeing so far is that people are acting like RV hasn't been fast. I could see if he had these crashes and was 1.5 seconds off the fastest lap but he set the fastest lap Saturday by over half a second, and did a 2nd fastest lap that was still faster than anyone else. Pretty soon we will see a freight train of RV, Reed, Dungey, Barcia, Canard, and Millsaps up front (in no particular order) and when James' knee gets better (if it does) we'll see him up there too somewhere.

JS and RV will get their wins in! I suppose everyone realizes there are still 15 races left? One bad race by any title contender can have a major impact on points (briefly), but in fact, you CAN still overcome the deficit. Keep in mind, JUST on race days, these guys have another 420 laps to race. (15x8 in heats) + (15x20 in mains)..PLUS all the practice they do during the week and at the track in qualifying. Getting out of ALL those hundreds of laps at warp speed unscathed is pretty damn hard to do....Oooh and bikes break too! (Sometimes).......Who the hell knows what will happen????? Should get intense!

if stewarts never crashed 3 times in a race its because he usually packs it in after the first one claiming he has a sore thumb or something meanwhile justin brayton raced last season with a fractured leg swollen as shit to but unlike stewart the man of mystery they posted x-rays and photo's

Profile Picture
thetoothperry116 wrote: 3:36am January 15, 2013

Find me a race where he crashed 3 times that wasnt a mud race. and as a professional and ill shut up. And he beat RV in 2009. Sorry but im old enough. And speaking of excuses. RV not even blaming himself for his crashes and blaming it on setup. Sorry but my 3rd grade knowledge might be off, but isnt that an excuse? Honestly who doesnt have an excuse. Look at every interview. Everyone has a question and everyone has an answer. Call any answer an excuse. Reed hates his bike. Villo hates his setup and Stewart has an injury. Big woop.

Read Open Mic.....RV blames himself....not the bike for his front end wash out at Pheonix. Also credit to RV for not complaining about the frigid temperature.

Profile Picture
therealmofo wrote: 9:06am January 15, 2013

@thetoothfairy--RV didnt even race but a few races in 2009, he wasnt even around.. RV blames himself for his washout, he even said he did the same in Pheonix last year. So get out of here with that crap... And do I remember which race exactly were Stewart crashed a ton, how about probably half of them..He has always been a crash machine.. For a guy who at one time won every supercross he didnt crash in and has only won 2 titles in all those years, tells me exactly how often he crashes..

Profile Picture
therealmofo wrote: 9:08am January 15, 2013

@thetoothfailry--read "Open MIC" RV says "but tonite it was all my fault" about his crash, so you and Stewart can take your excuses elsewhere..
