He looks smoother and faster then in the past. Here's hoping for a great year for Shorty!

Hopefully Mr 3rd Place will start catching onto the pace this year of the guys up front. Definitely getting close to the now or never time for Shorty.

I wish him well but the odds of anyone that is late into their career finding the next gear is very low. Can he win, Sure he did last year but lots of things needed to happen and this year with the class even more stacked he will need even more things to happen to pull off a win. It takes someone with some very special skills both Physically and Mentally to win at this level. Very few have it.

I actually dig the gold rims!! Hope they run them in SX

Got to say, he does look better...not sure what it is...but perhaps this year with all the health issues in his family behind him and a full year back on the Honda, he is able to focus.....Reed was pretty pissed about the Bel Ray deal and im sure it stung even more that they went to his ol' pal Brooks......

He appears to have dropped the Leatt brace, as Dungey did last year. Is this a trend?

@ BillC
Always liked Andrew, but do agree with your assessment on winning and stage of career.
I think he could have a few top 5's but it would be later in the series . I think he will if staying healthy and the bike up to speed he will be realistically a 6-9th place guy in the order. Which at this point in my life . I'll take ! LOL !

Merry Christmas an Happy New Year

I have noticed that a lot of guys have stopped wearing neck braces too. Anybody know the thoughts these guys are having to stop wearing them?

A heard a story about a friends friend who had a bad crash while wearing a neck brace. The front piece that sits underneath the chin was impacted by the ground when he landed on his chest. The force of that impact pushed the neck brace so hard into his upper chest that it tore his aorta and he almost died. Just fixing the tear is life threatening. Maybe there are more of these kind of stories out there and thats why..anyone?

909r, that is quite the story about neck brace injury. It kinda makes sense that it's definately one more thing when sliding and hitting the ground that could catch and injure you. When it comes to helmets, ARAI helmets has smooth outer shell for this very reason. All others including SHOEI have quite the variety of outer shells. By having several ridges, some of the cheaper helmets can now get a helmet shell that tests well. A few years back, many could not get a very good rating with cheap materials and smooth shell. ARAI can and still stands by their smooth shell. More expensive too accomplish this, but it's probably the safest lid made.
Anyways, IMO, and I'm a die hard Honda fan, when Short hammers it out of the corner and begins to hit whoop section, he had to clutch it nicely to get it to bark. I know he is in a taller gear, but it still acted like short on power issue. Time will quickly tell about the new Honda and the old Short...good luck Short. The Rocky Mtn dudes are rooting for you.

The gold rims are hideous. Although I like Andrew Short as a rider, he doesn't have the speed of the top guys. Unfortunately, he's a top 6-10 rider. Nevertheless, I think he has a great attitude and is good for our sport.
