Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Dean Wilson has been nominated for the NEXT Action Sports athlete by ESPN. Voting is open to nominate a fan favorite for an ESPN NEXT athlete — the one athlete who will be the next great in his or her sport. The winning athlete will appear in ESPN The Magazine.

When I voted for him the snowboarder was ahead of DW15 by quite a bit.
I like Dean, for sure, and I don't want to take anything away from his accomplishments as he is fast and good for our sport, however I'm not at all sure that he is the next big thing. There is no doubt that he could be, but this leaves me wondering if ESPN The Magazine has any idea just how competitve this sport really is. I think it is impossible to say who is gonna be next. And when you add in "The luck of the draw" it makes it that much tougher. I think that this prediction is in there with the weathermen and thier "forecasts", or what ever it is they get paid to tell us!!
