Maybe the perfect bike for Bercy, oui?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm KTM ...lets see how this goes.
Good for him i hope it turns into a good home for cp377,i feel like the media made him out to be a punk and he is a cool dude.
gotta love the KTM 350 finishes 1-2 in the MXDN now everyone wants one.
$10k for a KTM 350?! All the times that bike has been in a winners circle was due to an anomoly here in the states. In the GPs as a "works" bike, that thing is a beast, but is a far cry from the 350 sold here in the states.
They're still making those things? Thought they just had a big old stack of "350" stickers that they were slapping on the 450.......
On top of the Euros now being better than the Americans, the MXoN has finally proven that the 350 is better than the 450 too! Rumor is Dungey has finally seen the light and will get on one this year and should have no issue sweeping the SX series......wait James is doing that on the Suzuki......or was it Millsaps? Poor RV and Reedy......don't stand a chance.
Go ahead and bad-moiuth the 350 all you want B-KR, regardless of what you say about the bike in "America" or the riders who are riding one, it just totally, completely, obliterated the field of riders, many on 450's, at the MXoN!! That is a fact that cannot be denied. Only you seem to be exaggerating what that means with your comments!! It is obviously a quite capable bike, and guess what?/ KTM sold more of them than every other bike in their line-up last year...so i'll be they are happy and not too bothered by the fact that you will not be owning one!! I personally look forward to seeing how CP does on it!1
B-KR I think you mean euros are faster at lommel you puke! STFU,GO BACK TO WORK YOU BANNANA HEAD!!!
- He was riding a production 350sxf ten days ago for a moto-verte shootout
- He really liked the 350sxf, "handy and the power is most advantageous than a 450" from what he said
- For Bercy he's sponsored by the biggest ktm mx dealer in france, Wolf Motos ....
- He was testing the factory 350 of KTM USA before the National in 2011, didn't like the factory bike at that time
ktm 350 has the most wins in the xc1 gncc as well here in the good ole usa :)
I have one and love it, great bike for us mere mortals, and no I don't want to see Dungey on one :) except for fun, or a for a few videos maybe, wish there was a good vid of Dungey on the 125 on the dealer day at hangtown....
Christophe will find something to complain about with this bike too...it in his nature it seems. Not one to bash however, as his 2010 ride at Unadilla(where he obliterated everyone) was one of the all time greatest displays of talent on a bike I have witnessed.
Why are people trash talking cp377? Millsaps and bubba left jgr, pourcel was on a b-team compared to that. He came over after being hurt and startade winning emedietly. Hope he can land a factory ride.
Runka = Douche !!!!!!!!!! Euro Zo Zos
Jean-René- Helmut de la Rapapopulous HUMMMMMMMMMMMM !
Hoping he can win that and get picked up with a ride in the US? There's quite a few American riders that I'd rather see have a decent ride before him.
Is this a possible overture to Red Bull KTM europe? might he possibly be saying "hey DeCoster, hire me and I'll even ride the 350 in the U.S."
What I think is, Pourcel is unemployed right now, is looking for a job, is pretty-well out on all the Kawi-supported teams (euro & U.S.) and going orange might be his best shot at riding for a decent team whether it be euro or U.S. based.
I believe DeCoster could hire him cheap for 2 years and if he works out, great. If not, bye-bye, make room for K-Roc & M.M. on 450's...........or 350's........whatever.
I think KTM's G.P. team is set (A.C. & de Dycker?) so, no room in europe but, DeCoster has been looking for another 450 (maybe 350?) rider, I just wonder about the chemistry between R.D. & C.P.?
I'm pretty sure C.P.'s attitude got him where he is and that's a crying shame and waste of talent..............maybe JGR would take him? Just have him sign a performance-based contract with medical paid (for when he wads himself on the YZF450 deathtrap).
@carlsbad- "Just have him sign a performance-based contract with medical paid (for when he wads himself on the YZF450 deathtrap)." too funny!
I hope superman dominates
@ Runka "He came over after being hurt and startade winning emedietly"
Dude... Are you 7 years old or something? If not... please get back on the "short bus".
How are the 350's underpowered on the hard pack here but pull the holey in lommels quicksand ?

Pala 374
@ JimboMX374 Sarcasm?? I wonder how many of those "350's" are really 350's..... I'm not talking about production bikes obviously.

I am not a KTM lover by any stretch but Cairoli's bike was torn down after one of the GP's and was a 350. I believe the works stuff bears little resemblance to the production stuff other than looks tho'.
@tctwo
So you "believe the works stuff bears little resemblance to the prodiuction stuff" ....
Seriously?
I love the way americans talk about Euros. Wake up guyz, you're not alone in the Mx world ! I think Pourcel can and the 350 can be a good match. He's the kind og guy who want less power on a 450. To be honest, the 350 stock works like a 250 factory. A 350 factory works like a good 450. Everybody knows that even a stock 450 have enough power for anybody to win any race. Everything depends of the rider style. The problem is the start with less power, but A.C, who actually rides a 350 (factory, but 350cc) can be on top at the first corner. I'm agree to say that the us tracks arn't the same, and top guys probably need more power. But i've try a 350, a belive me, there is enough Hp in the engine for 100% of you ! Otherwise, i don't think Pourcel will find something with KTM USA. the politic of the brand, very strict and controlled dont fit for Pourcel. The deal with KTM is just a on shot for the Bercy SX. But who knows with CP ? All we can do for now is wait and see...
Like I said when the 350 came out, It can win, Short and Mike just are not the guys to prove it cus they are not top guys on 450's either.
Moto Verde article translated by Bing:
Known, Christophe Pourcel finished his contract with «CP377 CLS Florida motorcycle' Jean-Jacques Luisetti structure. So far, it was expected that Christophe keeps its KXF450 for Bercy, which will take place on November 9, 10 and 11...Well no, finally, CP will align to the big Parisian meeting riding a KTM 350 SXF of Wolff motorcycles Products team!
This coup de theatre is however not without logic, in any case, well informed people have felt it come... Again free of any contract "motorcycle", Christophe has indeed participated in a test with the staff of Moto Verte, there are ten days and present well noticed that he had spent a lot of time on the KTM, in particular the 350!
There is a year and half, already at the time without a contract, Pourcel had tried, in the greatest discretion, an official KTM 350, in Florida. The result was not at all conclusive, the driver of his own statements agreeing totally with KTM USA machine. None of that where, when testing MV "Cry" a a-do-re 350 Austrian version of series!
Witnesses tell a CP delighted handling overall and "more advantageous than a 450... power. This is corroborating the opinion of a lot of observers that, unless ideal conditions for him (dry circuits type Bulgaria/Italy or very fatty, Brazil), have never returned - since its passage in heavy-duty - Pourcel of the heyday of the Pro Circuit team on its KXF 250...
From the perspective of the great challenge posed by Bercy and its confrontation with with Weimer, Brayton, Chisholm, Hahn or other Tomac, to him who has never raced in SX on an 'Open' machine, Christophe must put maximum advantage of its assets!
In this context, change machine may seem risky - if near the deadline - but choose a 350, on the other hand, can make sense, especially on a track as Bercy...
And then there is the psychological aspect of things, always leading a top level driver and Pourcel, notoriously that before even the finale of the world, had lost the motivation to ride green... "We have lack of support;" Kawasaki, all share for KRT then that we paid the Pro Circuit parts... ", he commented on his facebook.
Obviously, since this test-press, roll on a KTM at Bercy appeared to Christophe as the solution and suddenly, to align its former KXF certainly was not adequate.
Fortunately, CP has echoed supported this project a little crazy with Jean-Marc Wolff, former crossman, head of the concession KTM n ° 1 in France! Wolff motorcycle Products is not without experience since it helped Loïc Larrieu last season.Remains that it is a true blow of poker (for a fan like him, no wonder!), within a month of a potentially capital test for its future... Certainly, it is always something happening with CP!
I think Mitch Payton should hire him for the 250.Give him low salary with big performance incentive.
I hope CP comes back to race here in the US. The 450 class gets so boring with just a few guys really on the pace. When CP is on, he is as fast as anybody and fun to watch. Speed can't be learned, you either have it or you don't, and he does.
@ fred, I think he pointed-out of 250F SX.
I think his attitude has painted him into a corner and he will have to take a ride on a lesser team / brand (in his estimation) for a year or two and eat crow to show he is willing to work his way back up.
This storyline reminds me of the story about the factory rider that was paid to stay home. Anybody remember him?
Wow, did someone say $10K for a new 350? I better go tell my dealer that he is getting ripped off then because I just bought a 13' KTM 450 SX for $8,800.
@carlsbad.I don't think that he has pointed out.I'm not for sure though and I'm to lazy to look it up.He rode like crap for the last few GP's.He had a broke shoulder blade but I don't know how many races that he had that injury.I think Roger and KTM should offer him a ride on the 350 here in the US.A low salary and big overall incentives.
Damon Bradshaw raced the SX350 last year and loved it. I would imagine if your fitness isnt great and the track rough a 350 would be way easier to ride. At least you'll feel faster!
@ fred, if he hasn't, any number of 250F (satellite) teams would be foolish to not offer him a gig. Why we aren't hearing about him signing with Rockstar Suzuki (for example) is why I believe he pointed out. I'm too lazy to look it up as well, though.
The other issue is, if he did go back to 250F's and got beat, his stock would drop significantly. 4th / 5th in the 450's isn't so bad, the same result in the 250F's would probably signal the end of his career opportunities here in the U.S.
Maybe Reed could offer him a ride to get his feet wet with a second rider and begin his withdraw from competition which, is an inevitibility. As previously mentioned, chemistry is a consideration.
I think C.P. needs a team with structure to keep him in check so, I don't see him and H&H (for example) being a good fit..........plus, the Star / Valli incident would be right back at the front of all conversations.
I'd like to see him lining up for 450 SX/MX but, I don't know the formula to make it happen. Seems like nobody else does either.
Why are you trashing CP??
He was lites champion 2 years in a row... Hard feelings????
He's a two time Lites SX champion. Of course he's pointed out
