No Drama or Excuses from this guy !
Go RV1 !!
Not an RV fan- but the guy has unbelievable riding style. Good to see him back on his scoot! Either he is greedy- or Kawi is stupid to chance not having him ride for them next year!
Then again, he did get called to ride MXoN, "nothing to gain and a lot to loose"? Really RV?
But he is gearing up for the MEC! Guess this answers my previous question!
You can get hurt at MEC too RV- come on man, but I guess going for a million bucks is far more important than representing the country that allows you the opportunity to make that kind of money racing a dirt bike.
What a tool!
cgraham46
Don't think you truly understand the scope of the situation.....he doesn't have a contract once the nationals are over! Would you go oversees to race.....risk injury and Millions of dollars in a race he feels he's not needed in? He's pretty confident in the guys that are going.......
And if he doesn't get a deal done with Kawasaki do you suppose they will send him, the team, the bikes and all the other associated expenses when he's leaving to another team?
RV has answered the bell for his country quite well in the past......I say this as a non-American observer.
PS....pretty sure he said he's just doing some testing on the bike for next years outdoors! Sounds to me like he's re-signing with Kawi.....
You might be right- I guess, as a military man, that I took offense to someone not very pumped to represent his country when asked to do so-
but you do make some valid points. I do not think anyone really understands the situation- frankly? I really do not care!
P.S. No one does testing for outdoors a year before the nationals start-
I just dont understand people that make starting comments that start out saying. I'm not a blank---- person fan why not...........
@cgraham46
You can tell that you're a military man, you're uneducated and you act like every other military douche who doesn't have the social or mental skills to do anything else in life. You're still as worthless as the day you joined, now you're just a civi failure, congratulations loser, you'll never be as good as Jodi boy.
He is sponsored by Monster and MEC is a part of his deal. Just being smart. Going to Belgium is quite expensive.
Thats right Ripdown, RV could only lose by doing the MXD. Sure I wish he was going but I understand why he is not. Either way great to see im on the bike so soon. lets hope all stay healthy next year, It will be fun!! RV, RD, JS, CR, TC, JB, DW ect man I can't wait for A1!!!
Persona what an A-Hole!!!!
@persona
I really can't believe you just insulted cgraham like that. you should apologize dude that was pretty low. Its because of our military that we can enjoy the things we love in life like dirt bikes. Do the right thing and apologize to this man.
@cgraham46 - Someone who misses the whole Outdoor season the year before does.
@persona - How's that high horse feel buddy?
He is SO damn fast. I personally think quicker than James ever was, and consistent at that.
@persona You are the lowest form of scum I've seen on here yet...
My neighbors sons just enlisted. One of them was earning six figures and was two credits away from his masters. He will be going into a branch of the special forces and is on his way to language school. The other son is also accomplished but wants to do his part for his country. Pretty sure two of RogerD's kids served or are serving in the Marines. I would never recommend someone put themselves in harms way, but to those who do, God bless them and thank you.
Persona you are a raging azzhole.
Yeah RV should be going to mxon, yeah right! Ya can't send a guy who has not raced for months and who has no idea where he stands physically at the time the team is chosen. RV would have been selfish to say he could go and pretty dumb to boot. MEC is another full month of training and riding. RV just got on the bike when Roger called. As if they choose the team the morning they announce it?
@cgraham46 - RV is testing the 2013 model Kawi and getting it ready for next year's outdoors, since that is the bike he'll be riding next year. It is always an advantage to get your baseline settings dialed in for outdoors in case Supercross comes down to the wire and he doesn't have a chance to start outdoor testing until Supercross ends. Sounds like a smart move on Kawi's part to me - assuming RV is going to re-sign with them for next year. And even if he isn't with the team at least the bike will be dialed in for whoever will be riding it.
PS - thank you for your service to this great country! People who bag on the military just don't get it. Without you guys we wouldn't have the freedoms we have.
and I echo the positive sentiments about our military guys.
lol at no one tests for outdoors the year before.......if that is the case maybe that is why there is only one RV. You're at the track, your team is there, why not test while riding? Is it better to not kill two birds with one stone? Kinda like the military not doing drills unless a war is going on. The best team will always be testing and never be resting. I recall lil Hanny claiming to not be testing at all and question is, why the F not?!
persona... = ...A-HOLE
Race the last two.Do it for the fans.Do it it cause you love it.Use those races for testing.Is you ego so big that you just have to win.No one expects you to beat the Dung right away.Don't be a prema donna sis.You could for sure get at least second.Manup sis.
Woohooo. RVs back and rippin. The dudes one BA rider and I cant wait for him and Dungey to duke it out especially in next years outdoor nats
@ fred.........You do realize how much prep it takes to be race ready at that level and relative to that how little time RV really has on the bike since his knee surgery. There's way more to lose at this point for him than to gain. I think those guys know what's best for them.
Persona...Your comment speaks volumes about you. I would bet good money you are a miserable, depressed A-hole who is hated by just about everybody you interact with on a daily basis.
RV is dead on - He has nothing to gain with MXON. Why ? 1st he has full confidence in the team that is going- he is clearly not needed for us to win it. 2nd he is not chasing glory and fame he is racing for a living and is focusing on the main goal for him the SX and MX titles and MEC. He has stated clearly he would go to MXON if needed - its clear he is not needed. If RD got injured he would go.
For someone to say he is not testing for the 2013 outdoors proves their ignorance. He is on the 2013 bike and getting all the settings how he likes them while riding back into shape. If he was needed for MXON he will be more ready- Hello !! Within the next month he will switch over to focus more on SX and do so until JAN. This planning is simply common sense and with prep him well for MEC.
Would I like to see him ride into shape at steel city ? hell yea !! We all would , I don't think it is a bad idea but he Knows he will try to beat RD if he gets out there and doest want anything to go wrong, I wish he would, but understand if he doesn't .
I love our Military boys and girls but simply don't agree with some of the statements earlier
GO RV !!!
No offense to the military guys but the real freedom fighting ended after we beat the Brits back in the 1700's Then the civil war to sort the details out. (I know WWII happened but that was for Europe's freedom not ours and look at the thanks we get from Europe now, they mostly despise America) Since then we have mostly had Political wars dictated by power hungry leaders that never once put themselves in harms way but gained enormously from the sacrifices of the soldiers. They sell it to all the patriotic types as fighting for our freedom. You tell me how in the heck is going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for our freedom here? The Spade is a Spade. Now carry on :)
BTW RV kicks ass!!!
Maybe @Persona, is a pacifist, and doesnt like war, like a lot of people, rather work, study than fight other countrys... im just saying!!
@Reatard cross.RV is the leanest and hardest looking that I have ever seen him.I for sure think he could get a second or third pretty easy.He'll have 3 weeks on the bike by the next race.He looks like he has been training very hard and riding very fast already.25 yrs ago with a knee injury like he had he would of been in a cast for 6 to eight weeks.It's not like that now.I bet he was on a stationary bike within a few days.He is in great shape and probably(from the looks of him) been riding a bike for months.It would come back to him very fast.It looks like it already has.Now if he had been totally laid up for three or four months doing nothing and was just starting to ride again I would say no way.But thats not the case.
Didn't think i would cause such a ruckus eh, thought i could teach cgraham a taste of his own medicine, didn't think the rest of you would get so upset or take it so seriously. Have to get some of you into hockey to toughen you up eh, taking a lick every now and then ain't so bad mate. all peace and good here. .
@dirty smile56 I agree with what you are saying.It baffles me how people can't see this.I'm sure some of the soldiers that have done some tours are starting to see some of what you said is true.
i think ryan felt that it was unfair for the guys racing the outdoors to get to ride mxon while sitting out the nationals, whereas the mc is home soil so he might aswell ride it and use it as a baseline for 2013
@Fred I have an uncle that did three tours in Vietnam . He believed at the ripe old age of 18 that he was doing right by his country and unfortunately he didn't realize the truth until after the fact, when his health was ruined mentally and physically.
The truth is that most older Veterans understand this lie of the freedom fighting bull and forbid their own children and family from signing up. It's where I shaped my attitude towards this idea, from "A veteran that served and sacrificed for not his country or freedom but corporate/political agenda's" .
I respect men and women who sign up to serve our country but unfortunately if they educated themselves on what was really going on most wouldn't serve.
I believe that if these people who claim to be freedom fighters (which I am not one) really wanted to fight for Americans freedoms they would be on the real front lines of the battle for America's freedom right here in America! In Washington and every political office in this Nation.
Again to be clear " Going to war in foreign Middle Eastern countries is Not Freedom fighting for America it is fighting for anything but freedom for American's and so far from what I've seen is that it's actually eroded away our freedoms.
this just in from @persona
Persona is a Canadian people, it doesnt matter what he says....
@ds56 Exactly.
Davidl ......you nailed it!
@ Fred.....you're missing the point. It's not in RV's make up to settle for a podium.....he knows that despite his best intentions his competitive instincts will take over and he'll want to win.......which could lead to something nasty as he's not in mid-season race mode.
Well as a Canadian I'm more than a little ashamed!
TOTALLY off subject but I just have to say this. I am very close to many that serve in the military and just lost a good friend who served in Vietnam. The soldiers automatically get my highest respect and honor unless they prove otherwise. The fact that our country is right or wrong in any conflict does not lessen this respect for our soldiers. They still are putting their lives on the line for our great country and I appriciate this deeply.
If you disagree with a government decision - blame the government and not the soldier !!!
What a great young rider, a lot of respect RV!! Still takes his dad riding and he looked good on the bike..He is making a wise choice, to not rush back, just cause you can ride, doesn't mean your ready to race at that level. Nice of him to give it up to Dungey, those two are classy guys! American motocross is in good hands!!
RV2 is a business man not just a MX SX racer. He just came off of an ACL surgery. His first priority is to get completely healthy and get a contract for 13 and beyond. As much as I would like to see him race the last 2 nationals and be on the MXDN team, his business man side is better off getting back into riding shape and getting a contract. Getting injured now could cost him tons of money over his new contract. It is just not worth it. That's my take on this.
@Persona
It is because of our Military that you can have an opinion with out getting killed or spend time in jail. You my man are a piece of work my freind!
@BD25...well said
@mit12....well said
@persona... I spent 20 years serving our fine country as an infantryman (leg, airborne, then Mech) and retired as a 1SG. I respect your right to say whatever it is that you wish to, however, before you judge others about issues and things you know nothing about, remember that your god given ability is revered in our country, the US of A. I have been all around this world...lived in some real shit holes...met some real nice people in some real disgusting political countries, but you sir are one of the most ignorant SOB's on this site.
Learn what the other side does, and how they do it before you critisize. One of these days you may need the expertise that we military bring to this society in a myriad of ways. I hope you don't, but, I am sure "they" will not ask you your thoughts first, but will fight to their death to defend your rights and freedoms....Can you say you would do the same for others you do not know????
I agree with dirtysmile 100%, the wars are for profit. And....what if? the wars were based on lies, sold to us on propaganda to serve private interests??? These wars are not for our freedom...they are for private contractors making $$$$ critical thinking is not used anymore in this country, god forbid we should have an epidemic of common sense and question things. Google "Operation Northwoods" and tell me what you think our gov't is capable of.
BTW God bless our troops and BRING THEM HOME!!!!!!
RV1....awesome.
I wish i could off had the opertunity to ride wit my father, that would of been cool.
@seventiesracer
Canadian here and i respect men like you, some soldiers here look down on civi's because they believe they didn't fulfill the same duties for their country and it pisses me off but don't take everything i say serious when im talking crap to someone on here, i don't mean it all of the time, cheers to you for being a good man.
@persona......when speaking crap to someone, try not to use words that will bring the "masses" into your conversations meaning.
It is one thing to blast an individual, however, it is ignorant to blast an entire group.
I agree with DavidL regarding soldiers and agree with BD25 regarding RV. Im sure if we needed RV for the MXDN team, he would go. Thanks for the vid!
Paying the cost to be the boss......riding is riding its what he needs to knock off the crusties......if hes anything like RC was after gettin his fixed look the he*l out........RV can rip.....
RV's just payin the cost to be the boss....if he rides like RC did after fixin his...look the he*l out..........ridin is ridin ...it all helps with timing and fitness.....and blowin up haybales is good for ya......
sorry comp lost its mind......
Persona, DS56 and Fred,- uneducated military? You three need to say thank you to every military person you see and underestand what you are saying thank you for.... reagrdless if you are candian as two thirds of canada would have been murdered by now because they are not blonde, blue eyes or Arian enough! To say that WWII was to free Europe is the most uneducated comment I have ever heard...
DS56 said we were fighiting for Europe in WWII, I don't think he has ever seen the sunken US ships in Peral Harbor. Must have been sleeping during that part of history.
RV can show up to the MEC and "see what happens" he can use it as a gauge to see were hes at and others like dungey did last year but the MXDN is not a race he wants to go to and "just see what happens"
Dungey was given a gift this summer. With RV back in the picture nobody stands a chance
@mb moto you sir are a idoit.I said none of those things.As usuall you try to take things out of contex and make it into something that it wasn't.I'm pretty sure I saw a comment where he apoligized to the man yet here you are being all stupid with no clue.STF up.
@mbmoto where did all the Nazi arain sciensist that designed all the jets,rockets.ufo's and all the other high teck shit end up at.Right here in the good old USofA brought here by who?In Huntsville Al the civic center is called the Von Bron cvcic center.I can remember in the sixties in huntsville al .the speed limit signs were in Km.
the true king returneth!
@ ALL
Enough about politics, this is a MX site, I came on here with my morning coffee, maybe do a little bench racing.
We are not going to solve the worlds problems on our little racer x community. We are just one little swimmer in the balls of life....
So lets change topic... how about something safe like Religion? LOL
BBRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
Nico.. Appreciate your fan loyalty but, Dungey had to work pretty hard to earn that gift!! Ryan V said that Ryan D is riding at a very high level and on a roll, seems that the Locomotive has earned the Firecracker's respect, but not yours.
I do agree, that with the speed and intensity that Poto brings to the track, along with the return of this years wounded, the big bike class will be a donnybrook through out the year! I hope that Villopoto, Reed, Stewart, Canard, Dungey and the class of Rookies, make it through the Supercross season healthy, so we can have a epic season in the 2013 version of the Great Outdoors!!!!
He is riding on the pegs a lot - can only be a good thing for the longevity of his carrer - look how long Whindam has been in the game...not many ride the pegs more than him....well he doesn't much anymore - probably because he is getting older.
I used to think RV lacked personality so I was blah about him but after listening to him on PulpMX a while back I kind of like his sense of humor - Just hope for a great 2013
Finaly as a cyclist - road and mountain - I feel that MX fitness is specific to being on the bike _ I dont think you gain more fitness by doing mxjust a different type so to speak - for example during a typical 1.5 hr MTB race my hear rate averages 181bpm...before you say oh Reeds is like 185 during SX I'll say what is that 18 minutes? and I'm 36 years old. in Criteriums (road racing - street circuits) it is not uncommon for my heat rate to peak out at 197 plus highest this year 203...I've never come close to that in MX but my body is TOAST after MOTO ...so what i am saying is that cycling is a good cardio base but to fine tune you have to train specifically for what you do...I think that was what Villo was saying...I'll shut up now...
man, i love his style... nothing against Ryan Dungey or James Stewart (they both seem to be forward riders as such), but Villopodium just looks sooo aggressive always! The way he leans back that little extra... it's just sick to watch, good luck to him in 2013, but he probably won't need it :p JS7 will injure everyone with his crashes, and RV will win the title again! :p
@Corby28...... your right about JS7 but remember RD5 and CR22 are still a challenge. Especially RD he probably would have won the supercross title had he not hurt his collarbone, so just saying RV is going to need all the luck he can get
ps, watch out for DW, TC, and JB their also a factor!
