Zach "Snack Pak" Osbourne gets a podium a couple weeks after returning from injury...hate to say it but these guys would have a hard time finishing in the top ten in the States and dont even get me started on the MX1 class...looks like they are barely trying, pretty pathetic. Baggett, Barcia and Tomac would go 1, 2, 3 in the MX1 class. Yes I said MX1. Mookie Stewart could win the MX2 class.

Congrats Antonio on your 50th win!!

I had the pleasure of meeting you last year at the MXDes and you where a true gentleman and a Ambassador to the sport ( despite the fact you lost your mom only a few weeks prior) and you were super fast untill yor handle bars snaped in two. The best of luck for the rest of the season!! MX1 champ!!

multiple lines and freeway like smoothness...who couldnt ride 35 minutes on a track like that...why do you think Roczen and Musquin cant hang

@ronniebarnhardt hmmm just curious do you actually watch the ama motocross or what? because roczen and musquin must certainly can hang with the americans, barring baggett maybe who no1 can match speed wise atm

It was damn to dry there yesterday. Last year it had rained the week before and the track was rough and great.

As for the single lined tracks - yes there were lots of corners with only one usable line - to bad!

Tracks here in germany at the ADAC MX Masters series (international german championship) are prepped with LOTS OF WATER - they are always multi lined and really wet early in the day. More like i looks like in the U.S.

Many of us here do not like the way they prepare the tracks at the GPs. Also often they make doubtable decision on how they design corners and preformed berms.

As for Roczen and musquin - let them have there learning year. K-Roc was right behind or in front all the top contenders almost every weekend - and they have race the U.S. tracks for years!? ;-)

I will judge Kenny by the next season both in MX and SX!

But i have to agree the competition in the U.S. is at least now more intense and dense than here in europe.

The racing @loket was almost boring in race 1 of mx 1 only my fellow german countrymen max nagl was a pleasure to watch after returning from his difficult back injuries.

hey barnhard,

american riders have that certain something that make them the way they are.

#1 is Arrogance- Don't even bother being american mxer, unless you FEEL that you are the best at everything and make sure everyone around you knows.

#2 ground braking technology, the best endurance and strength drugs that are not detectable and are easily masked.

#3 is class. if you have it, choose another sport.

Hey Folks!
The difference between Euros and Americans in MX...isn´t that big.
Its very easy...you send Dungey to the GP´s...and he wouldn´t dominate the way he does in the USA...and why?Well he even know the Tracks,he isn´t at "Home",No Family,Friends,etc...everything is new...so that will affect his mental strenght! And thats its all about!Mental Game Folks! All these athlets are in top shape its only the Mental Game!
The reason why the Euros go to USA is only cash!!!!Not to race with the top racers...because there are top racers every where...
And the reason why the Americans won the MXDN so often is also simple...because in the World GP there are riders from so many Countries...and the top three of 450 or 250 are all from different Countries...the US Team pick up is very easy...top three from 250 and 450 and then chose the best and thats it!
So all of the Euros has in most cases 2 top riders and another ho even ride a GP...maybe a B class rider...Like Team Germany for Example:Kroc,Nagl(top riders)and Schiffer. Now you say Schiffer?????WTF?Schiffer is a national german rider who has the speed of Kroc with a 85cc bike...so what can they do...nothing...and thats the problems of all the Euro Teams at the MXDN.
Bagget,Barcia,Tomac...are top riders...but remember...where they are on they rookie years...???????
Who cares about Barcia,Tomac last year at the Nationals??And what about Bagget??And they race those tracks all there lifes and championchips before...and know that they are 2 or 3 Years in it...they began to be consistent and always be on the top!
So please dont judge at Roczen or Musquin...they are rookies in the USA and doing pretty well. Also the Team hasn´t the expirience like Geico or ProCircuit.
You know...Ken is very fast...but he also has setup problems with the bike...if he were at one of the PC Kawis he would be faster...couse the Team has more expirience with the tracks aund set ups...
Sorry for my english but i am a spanish guy living in Germany...so i do the best i can...
Greets from Germany and i hope all the riders stay healthy so we can see great Battles!
And i am exited for the MXDN this year to see how the Euros like Herlings(don´t like him so much)Cairoli(nice guy)Kroc and the others do against the USA:-)
My pick for the USA TEAM:DUNGEY(450)VILLOPOTO(OPEN)BARCIA(250)

As the great American icon Ricky Bobby would say, "If you're not first you're last!"
Get over it guys, American MX is #1 and always will be.

I wonder is Herlings is rethinking coming to the US after seeing how MM and Roczen are doing. Not that their doing bad but i think most people over there thought they would be winning.

Profile Picture
smee113 wrote: 12:07pm August 6, 2012

@ronniebarnhardt - Besides Herlings, the MX2 class is pretty weak, but the MX1 class is pretty much on equal level with the 450 Class, and results from Desalle here two years ago proves that.

@dakat324 - Are you really accusing the Americans of doping? Considering how prevalent doping is in Europe, you have no right to make such unfounded claims.

The Americans aren't better, or at least not by much. They just have a deeper field than any other country.

The the American's are "not better" why is it that the last 2 MX2 WORLD CHAMP came over here and have yet to win??

smee113....of course the top americans are using performance enhancers...why do you think Barcia is so emotional and looses his temper so easy!! lol

I hope you don't get too upset smee, it's nothing to get all worked up over.. A lot of pros in all sports do the same!!!!

The usa has the weather and a huge population for breeding motocross!! Hard to beat!!! BUt if any of the top americans tried to go for a GP championship they would experience difficulties that would affect their results...It wouldn't be easy to win a GP championship

Profile Picture
dakat324 wrote: 11:08pm August 6, 2012

You fricken guys kill me. Reed, Wilson, both recent champs, both not American. You make it sound like US riders can't be beat.

I got news for you, YOU ARE HUMAN, and you bleed when you get popped in the mouth like anyone else.

There is more talent here because the population is larger. If the US has 300m people, and 5% ride, that's 150k riders, if the fast guys make up 5% of those, there's 7500 fast guys. And if the good pros make up 5% of the fast guys, thats 375. A country with 30m people will have 37. (10x less)

I know that's a lot to take for the un-edu-macated folks, but this is the answer. Its like toilet bowl racing Nascar. How many non-americans are good at that? I mean how many non americans even care? vroom vrooom vrooomm... ;p.

At least that was an actual motocross track unlike the jokes that were Russia and Mexico. The half fallen down green fencing still looks like crap lining the track. Can the fan at the lower levels even see the track past that?

Euromike wrote: 9:05am August 8, 2012

Doesn´t look it, but the track was super bumpy and very demanding. Nice spectator spot was the beginning of the pits on the first floor where you can see virtually the entire circuit. The highlights for me were Max Nagl´s comback ride and Jeffery Herlings total domination of the MX2 class. He brushed Searle aside like a complete amature.
What a pity the sport here has fallen uinto the hands of the Italian mafia. Practically the entire organisation as well as the trade support teams are Italian. Hopefully youthstream will die a swift death and out of the ashes a new and less corrupt and gready body will grow, a body who treat riders with the respect they deserve. At the moment it can´t get any worse.

@Euromike

To someone like me who doesn't closely follow the GPs, it certainly appears that someone is lining their pockets and skimping on the event venues. Hopefully someone will take over soon and bring the prestige back to the events. The racing does appear to be quite good though. They aren't afraid to bang bars, and Herlings does look strong.
