Ah revenge will be sweet for the Dunge next moto. Hope he just keeps doing what he's always done and doesn't start listening to the "Dungey can't pass" hounds. He has it in the bag. No need to risk a serious crash because Mikey's getting as good as Chad Reed at blocking Dungey while being slower.
@MOTOXWANNABE.....Dungys problem is he rides way too nice just give Mike a bump when he cuts across him problem solved lol Mike would do it along with Reed, RV, Stewart
Wow, Brown got 11th place good new for us old timers! Alessi can only ply that way till he gets it back and Dungy was playing it smart.
Dungey needs to dial in his starts so he doesn't have to pass Mikey next moto, the track looks very one lined today. Not saying it is impossible to pass as there have been a bunch passes made.
We know Dungey will do the smart thing and do his best without putting himself or his bike at risk, thats what makes him a Champion.
RD seemed slightly off 1st moto.....even before he caught MA, and couldnt get by??
So I think MA was icing on the cake for RD's mediocre moto.
I think the 1st moto may have lit a fire under Dungeys butt!
I made motor noises and watched the live timing. From what I saw MA didn't beat Dungey to the first turn this time, or if he did maybe Dungey pushed him wide. I wont know for sure until I can watch the second moto.
Glad to see Dungey get the overall.....

WOW, good for the privateer!! If any of the other factory guys were on Mikes bike I don't think they would be doing as well!!
If MIke had factory support he would be dominating the series!!!!
Is it TOO HARD to believe that having the best equipement and a big team with lots of money makes a big difference to a racer???
Mike Allessi is possibly the best racer in this series!!!
If Suzuki won't give support to MIke with suspension or anything it doesn't look good on Factory SuzukiTeam,,THe same team show lack of jugdement with DeCoster as well!!!
THis Privateer ,, Mike Alessi, is the TRUE CHAMPION in this series...If Dungey had equal equipement it would be different ,......
BUT i don't consider a FACTORY rider beating a PRIVATEER something special! It's nothing to get excited about!!!
Hmmmmmm, why doesn't Mike have factory support?
Oh wait he did have factory support, with Suzuki and KTM.
Now why would he not have facotory support now? It certainly isn't because he was winning everything in sight, they tend to keep those riders.
Do you know the answer to these questions canadianmxfan? You have made we wonder, why oh why these two great motorcycle companies lets the great and powerfull MA go.
surprised at hill, albertson and regals results.
Hey CrossRut, MA also had help from American Honda during his first nationals but Tony messed all of that up for him just like he messed up everything else.
I gotta hand it to Mike. He did a good job in the first moto of hanging tough and riding smart. Blocking the inside lines and guessing where Dungey was going to be looking to get around him. The guy in front gets first line choice and he did protect the inside really well without being an obstructionist. He also was very gracious to Dungey on the podium. I think back in the day when he pulled that bone head move of standing on Tedescos bike at Glenn Helen he has tried really hard to rebuild his reputation and good for him. As long as he can keep dipshit Tony from running his mouth, Mike may have found a good home with his new sponsor.
I think Dungeys' bike looked better in the second moto than it did in the first. Whatever changes they made were definite improvements.
I had high hopes for Grant today too. He looked great in practice and his times were 3rd fastest I think.
Really cool to see Hill make a return too. If he can stay healthy and ride himself back into shape it should bode well for him come this next SX season.
Stewy and/or Villo would have passed Alessi easily? .
track was very hard to pass one line all the way..........Why dont they make these things wider!
Who's going to step up and give Peick a ride? He went out in his first national of the year on a bike he bought off the showroom floor and got a 9th overall. That's pretty impressive.
There's a reason why Stewart and Villipoto and Reed and Trey aren't riding because they all have hit the the ground too hard. Not saying that Dungey is invinsible. Dungey has more points than all of them since he won the big bike super cross class for the first time. I didn't feel sorry for vilipoto after he mad that block crash on dungey in st louis and proceeded to shatter his leg. Never seen anything like that from dungey. Remember dungey has the most points since I started watching motocross and thats 3 supercross series and 2.6 outdoor series.
CrossRut,,,Mike is second in the series and consistently beating all the other factory riders every week except for Dungey.
.You say they tend to keep the racers who win on factory teams?? Well look at all the other factory riders,are they winning? They are being destroyed by Mike Alessi!!!
He has had some bad luck through the years and still working hard...On KTM he had the 350, which was the wrong bike for the series!! His results don't lie...You guys don't like certain riders and get all upset if they are succeeding and say nothing but insults...I feel sorry for you.
@RedneckRider
Mike did ride a good race today, and the guy in the lead does have his pick of the lines. I also think you are correct that his father has done more harm than good.
Mike has gained some respect from me this year with his solid performances on a non-factory bike.
I am curious if his MotoConcepts team could send him to the MXoN if he were to be concidered. I would like to see him go, even though I think there might be some faster riders available. I am not talking about the injured 450 riders, but Barcia or Tomac. I would like to see someone who has more time racing a 450 take the spot if possible, this might get mike back on a factory bike in the future if he were to do well.
@canadianmxfan
I like MA and agree he's riding great but his dad must be a real jerk if the factory teams are willing to keep losing to him rather than give him a ride.
@canadianmxfan
I have nothing against Mike, and I like what he has done this year, so don't toss me into the Mike A hater club just yet.
I agree the 350 was not the bike for him while he was on the KTM, but even if he was on the old 450 I don't think it would have helped. He has been a solid top 10 rider since 2004 and tons of off track and a little on track baggage have drug him down. I think his loss of a factory ride has humbled him a little bit, and made him work harder.
@crossrut
Hey man dont backpeddle,your third post was spot on.
We all know the answer.
Alessi will be selected for the MX3 class in the MXoN for the USA.... its the rules.
The highest point earning american rider and the second highest point earning rider gets selected along with the fastest American 250 rider for MX2.
As it sits right now...
Dungey - MX1 - 450
Baggett - MX2 - 250
Alessi - MX3 - Open
The only reason Dingey went off the track was because Alessi was going from inside to outside on it and whipping it outside also, i.e. wide bike as they say, leaving Dungey no where else to go. From the camera angle, it appeared Dungey gained on Alessi just before the jump and Alessi responded by pulling that move more than once. If that is the case then Alessi is the moron endangering spectators, I noticed that Dungey quit trying to pass in that area, rather than take the chance of crashing. I respect Alessi's skill and determination but he needs to develope some common sense.
MA raced to win and he beat Dungey. Is he faster, in better shape or more talented than Dungey? Absolutely not but he found a way to slow dungey down 3-4 seconds a lap by riding the right lines. Would Stewart or VP have beet him probably yes but those guys are on the sidelines. Are they more talented than dungey? Is McJager more talented than Bruce Springsteen or Maddona? They all bring different styles to the table. Is Dungey the safest top rider on the track? Probably but could be just luck!
MA's dad has been his biggest problem. Mike has been solid every year in the Nationals. He rode a get race Saturday, and I feel the factories need to give him a chance again. KTM and that 350, hello A. Short couldn't do anything on it either last year.
Mike raced a racers race, he took the lines he was suppose to take, if you guy's every listened to Jeff Emig he said he use to always take the shortest way around any track which is the inside lines.
I'm reading a lot of commits from people if you do race are the ( back of the pack maniacs), because every pro rider that is leading a race does not LET the rider behind him by easy.
Mike A should have changed his riding years ago. I have always said and seen that he would ride the wide track and not use to many inside lines. he would do a lot better in supercross if he would change the lines that he chooses. Mike GREAT RACE!
Now, on that MXoN's comment, how in the hell can ANY OF YOU that are suppose to be I guess MX fans, not put KING JAMES STEWART on the team. James hurt is faster than any ride racing healthy! Hands Down! You and I have all seen this! But we will see at Southwick!
Your out front longer each time MA !

All of tracks are pretty much one lined because all of the top pros see the same way around the track. They all want into the fastest line which is usually the shortest line....that is how all of the tracks become one lined. If you ever ride a national track AFTER the the race you will see that they don't have any beginner ruts!
As far as MXoN goes, I think Roger would take Mike on the condition that his dad stays at home. Will be fun to see who gets to go. Either way, it won't be Stewart or Villopoto.
@starplaya4life - James was supposedly riding injured at his last race and wasn't faster than a few other riders....just saying. Also I think Decoster will choose someone not only healthy but consistent. And right now James is neither.
He isn't the King of anything either. McGraths SX record still gives him the title of King of SX and Carmichaels out door wins and titles trump James record thus far. You might want to call him Prince James instead of King. The people that already own that title have seriously earned it and James has not reached that level of success yet.
@ starplaya4life Seems to me you better start heading down to CHARLOTTE, N.C for the Dem Convention and get a grip on whats realy going down. or just keep on truckin to Miami and stick to B BALL PLayer..............I think you confused!
Some people are retarted. Alessi rode a "450" last year for ktm, it was 2 seasons ago he tried his luck on a 350 and it didnt happen. I mean yeah it's cool that alessi got a moto win, but was it really outta skill? track was very tight, he was using slow guy tactics to keep rd5 behind him which he should cause im a dungey fan, but i would like to see some more battles, but dungey crashed and caught him again, if alessi is so good now... where was he the 2nd moto? he was right behind dungey on the start was he not? I bet even if alessi was on a factory ride dungey would still hand him his ass.
MA 800 rode a great race. He is in 2nd place in the points. He really is having his best year so far. He seems to be humbled from his past, and I am starting to like him. No big deal to him, I'm sure, but the general public seems to be thinking the same way. His interviews are good, and I think this is all a positive where he is concerned. However, as we all know, and once again it needs to be said, there are a lot of big guns sitting on the sidelines, leaving some doors open. It isn't anyones fault, but where would he/the whole series be if they were here? And can he represent the U S at the big show? I will leave that decision to Roger. Are we gonna win it this year? Could be close. Only time will tell...
@TexMex - If starplaya4life wanted to learn what was really going on he should not go to the DNC convention as the Dems actually think the economy is doing better, Obamcare is a good thing and causing rates to go down, and that Obama actually likes America.....Nobody has their heads in the sand more than the Dems except for possibly starplaya4life.
Cheers!
