Washougal Statistical Report

Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
Series Statistical Report
Peterson CAT Washougal National

Washougal MX Park - Washougal, Wash.

  • Washougal has hosted Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship events since 1980 and is currently in its third decade of hosting the Nationals in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Washougal is known for being one of the most beautiful, yet challenging tracks in the world and features several iconic obstacles, including Horsepower Hill.
  • In 31 years of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship competition at Washougal, only two international riders have captured an overall win - Chad Reed in the 450 Class in 2009 and Ben Townley in the 250 Class in 2007.
  • A rider from Pacific Northwest has never won at Washougal in either the 450 Class or 250 Class, as Poulsbo, Washington's Ryan Villopoto is winless in four starts at his home track. A pair of natives did claim victory in the 13 years of 500cc competition - Eric Eaton, of Tacoma, Wash., in 1985 and Chuck Sun, of Sherwood, Ore., at the inaugural event in 1980.
  • Ryan Dungey has won four-straight races at Washougal across both classes, dating back to 2008 when he captured his first-career victory. He has won four of his five career starts at the track.
  • This season, Dungey is enjoying a five-round overall winning streak and has also taken the checkered flag in the last 10 motos.
  • Every 450 Class victory in 2012 has been achieved by sweeping both motos.
  • Ryan Dungey has won 34 of the 62 motos he's entered in his 450 Class career (54%), claiming the overall in 19 of 31 races (61%).
  • Through his first 31 career 450 Class races, Ricky Carmichael captured 23 overall victories. Ryan Dungey has claimed 19 wins in his first 31 starts and already sits alone in fourth on the all-time wins list.
  • Carmichael also earned 1,375 career points through the first 31 races of his 450 Class career, while Dungey has amassed 1,393 over that same span.
  • Dungey is the only rider in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to finish on the podium in every moto. His worst result was third in the first moto of the season.
  • Mike Alessi has finished on the overall podium in five of the first seven races and currently sits second on the championship as a privateer.
  • Blake Baggett and Eli Tomac have the most wins in the 250 Class with three apiece. However, they sit third and fourth in laps led, respectively. Justin Barcia has led the most laps, but has won just one race.
  • Jake Weimer leads all competitors in passing an average of 5.8 riders a moto. Eli Tomac has worked hard for his success, leading the 250 Class with 5.5 passes per moto.
