This is one of the tracks I would love to see! I have heard so much about the track, from its loamy dirt to Larocco's leap, to all the stories of how great the fans are, its truly a legendary facility! I have been told the best way to enjoy it is to forget the motels and camp out to get the real Reeeeddd Buuuuuuddd experience. I hope that the rumors of it leaving the National line up are just that, rumors, and it will be around for many years to come, as it belongs to the fans of the Great Outdoors!!!!

@BD25,, Yes, if you go there, camp out. Be sure you tell them you want in the parts section.

I meant the "party" section.

mxmofo1 and Mr Mx Hope to see you both there, as it is definitely in my future! Not this year, as the budget will not allow it, but in the next two years I hope to be track side enjoying all the excitement that motocross racing at its highest level delivers!!

It is going to be one hot, "Sum Buck" this weekend. 90 plus degrees and 80ish humidity. No rain in the forecast as of now. That heat has to be a real "Huevos Breaker" for those guys riding 30+2. Twice! All 82lbs of skin and bones of Baggett will probably weigh about 46lbs when the days done. When in doubt, hydrate!

BillC I am in total agreement, I have been missing my motocross. It will be nice to see the Gambler roll his 7 out and try and derail the no.5 Locomotive on the world famous Red Bud track!!
I have made the suggestion that they lower the number of Supercross races from 17 to 14. They could skip Dodger stadium, Salt Lake and the lowest attended east coast round. That would allow a second weekend off for the riders and have the season over mid April. In doing so, they could add two more outdoor races, perhaps in Georgia and Louisiana. The outdoors would then run mid May to mid September still giving the riders a couple off weekends during the summer. After Motocros of Nations offer a 4 race American/ Euro series in November using the Cali tracks of Glen Helen, Pala, Milestone and Elsinore just to keep the travel costs down for all the riders, it could be sponsored by say Red Bull and called the Round Up Cup...
Any one like the idea or have any others for improving and expanding our sport...

Great track, Richies are not afraid to put a lot of money back into it. as it is always getting better... camping crowd was getting out of hand but I think they fixed that problem...

I've been attending Red Bud since 1978 (when I was 4) and have been to at least 25 nationals there. I missed some years for various reasons. For those of you who have heard the stories about camping and it getting out of hand, they're ALL true!!! I remember a year in the late 80s camping where the pro pits are located now and an all out fireworks war zone erupting. Tents caught fire (with people in them), campers burnt, and particularly one dudes tower speakers burnt to the ground! It was total chaos. Thankfully now that I'm a dad, it's toned down immensely.

Mr Mx Wow, you just never know what to expect! Your use of Sipde, a technique taught as a riding skill: scanning ahead, identifying hazards, predicting what may happen, deciding what to do, executing your decision, you saved others from injury making you the hero! It is to bad that at our age we don't bounce as well as we used to! I am sorry to hear of your injuries, will this effect your planned surgeries? I hope your not into much pain, wish there was something I could do to help out, all the best wishes to my motocross friend!!!! Please keep me up dated.....

Holy crap Mr-Mx, shows what kind of person you are.Like to think I'd do the same (I know I would for my wife or kids) Take it easy and heal up.Your wife also.Even vacations can be dangerous,so live for the day within reason.

And I love RedBud,raced there a few times, got some gold. And done some practice days there, fun track.Had one of my worst crashes ever there in 05 at the end of a practice day.Had been hitting the flagpole jump hard all day landing way down the hill.Last lap had to change my line because of another rider but I didn't let off.I hit a kicker and had to jump over the front of the bike (thank God for the soft sand) it wadded up with me and I could not even sit up for 5 min.Somehow nothing was broken but I was hurting for a couple weeks, and had a nasty bruise on my inner thigh from my crotch to my knee halfway around. From the footpeg I think. But I still love that place.

REEDBUUUUUUDDDDD!!! Will be there again, just like every year.. The best track on the circut, and almot every rider agrees. Plus the highest attendence of any track all summer. The dirt is perfect, and it will be very hot again. Close to 100 degrees. but I cant wait. Stewie may be back, from what I hear. But the 250 class is where its at with no RV1 and Reed.. Cant wait to see Barcia and Bagget go for Laroccos leap.

Thursday July 5, 2012; Weather update for Red Budd. Not quite so hot on Saturday only 89-90ish as opposed to mid to high 90's. The big (good) news is the humidity is coming down around 40% as opposed to 80%. And....a possibility (20-30%) chance of showers in the mid afternoon.

@Mr-MX: I put down 46 (Burnt Weenie Sandwiches) in the backyard yesterday, with no audience. Ha!
