Concussion Will Sideline Fiolek for X-Games

PrintA concussion suffered on June 2 will keep Ashley Fiolek from competing in the 2012 X-Games which begin June 28 in Los Angeles, California. Fiolek released the following statement earlier today.
"It is with great sadness that I must withdraw from the 2012 ESPN X Games, I am absolutely heartbroken that I will miss this year but I need to do what is right for my health and my future.
In Golden Colorado on June 2nd I was involved in a crash that left me with a concussion, after close medical attention I was unable to pass various tests forcing me to stay off the motorcycle and miss the 4th round of the outdoor series.
I continued medical testing with my doctors and on Friday June 22nd I was told I could start training again as long as I did not experience any headaches or other “post concussion” symptoms, I immediately returned to training but unfortunately any physical activity resulted in a headache.
I met with my doctors, my trainer, and my family and we decided that the right decision was to take more time off and not return to racing or training until I am 100%.

Wait, James Stewart is competing at Xgames? I could have sworn that this article was about Ashley Fiolek and Ashley Fiolek only. I didn't see a mention of James anywhere. And people wonder why he's one the most talked about rider in the sport..
I think that this is a smart move to fully recover before risking further injury. I'd rather see Ashley around for the long term than risk it all now. Go Ashley, we are rooting for you!!!!!

Good luck Ashley and do what is right for you! You have made a big impression on the deaf culture I am sure! Ya I went deaf but used to heara bit. Dont know anybody deaf but me and you? I read lips very well because I went deaf very slowly. No I am not one of those people that say I am deaf also then have to answer my cell phone. I laugh at them. I use Relay and closed captioning.

@preston- the guy is mentally ill, besides his sick passion for James. He wants to be like James so bad, thats all he thinks about. Even his shrink couldn't help him, I guess the conversation went something like this. " I will say a word or phrase and you tell me the first thing that comes to your mind"
