This past weekend saw the first ever GP held down south in Mexico and it wasn't without controversy as the racers refused to race the qualification races on Saturday. I call up Sebastian Tortelli who had a major hand in getting the race down under as well as racer Michael Leib to find out what happened down there this weekend.

There are always two sides to a story. Sebastian has just told his side of an event that had so many things that went less than perfect. He sounds like there are plenty of people wanting him to soft sell the problems that arose.
I think his first comment about how he would like to have the opportunity to do it all over again, says it all. Maybe he will get that opportunity, and maybe not. We will see about this time next year, won't we.
Moving right along....
@ Caseyponds
What was your prediction on 450 class Hangtown??? Never seen one
Sounds like you've made up your mind which side of the story you agree with. Funny considering that Seb's story is the only side that has been heard. None of the factory teams commented. Their own riders were striking yet they couldnt comment? To me that at the very least raises suspisions as to the motives of the riders. Were they being drama queens? I dont know, but Im a Euro and watch GPs (as well as AMA) but this is plain down right embarrassing. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. They did by crying wolf!
Massive Michael Leib fan now! DESALLE YOU PIECE OF CRAP!!
The dude was ran over by a car.. here is the article about it.. http://www.informador.com.mx/jalisco/2012/375746/6/septuagenario-pierde-la-vida-atropellado.htm just transalate to english...
Who cares if that one dead guy was actually run over, instead of tortured, shot and dumped on the road. Does it change the dozens that have been slaughtered in the area?
Besides, we are only complaining, because there should be a GP in the United States first, THEN they should worry about running one in Mexico with all its problems. No USGP, then no Mexico GP. And don't start your whining, if I wasn't here calling the RacerX staff names, no one would be driving their reactionary, apologist news articles. (Although, I'm sure Matthes volunteered for this project because he has a horrific mancrush on Tortelli.)
Next project? Dungey only needs to follow JS7crash until he wads himself, or the Suzuki breaks, then he can just cruise to the title. DeCoster is already counting his bonus bucks.
Michael Leib is a great dude. You can tell by his interviews.. I hope he sticks with the GPs cus he's on a great team. Riders strike! Really? Only could have been the frenchies. :)
This is completely true, tortelli's version is completely true. I was there, there was no violence, a lot of ambulences and yes the track was not dusty at all. There were to corners and that was it. For me it was a great event. POURCEL RULES
Michael Leib is such a great guy, he whips damn hard!!!
what up I think she does also

What are you talking about? The hand that feeds them? Which hand would that be then? The riders are the ones feeding the hand. If you knew anything about the GP´s you would know that Youthstream are ripping them off big vtime, and this strike was a protest by the riders for being treated like sh1t by the mafia that has been taking advantage of them for years now. For any rider action to be successful they need to form a united front, and Leib, because he´s not doing the GP´s this year, decideed to look after #1 and didn´t stand with his fellow riders. He´s a piece of yankie dog dirt and needs a boot in his ugly kisser. Desalle let him know how the other riders feel about him, that´s all. He´s finished in GP´s, even if he wants to return. He´d be taken out before he got to the first corner.
Stay in america Leib, you´re not welcome back on this side of the pond.
