So did they fill his tank with cement or what? I find it hard to believe he went 15-4 for 10th. This guy could still win the outdoor nationals. I question the fact that this was filmed on 4-1-12. Even so, I am thrilled to see him possibly racing again.

In Time he will be up to speed. I laugh when guys say he could still win anytime. It would take him a long time to get back to the top. Not going to roll out of bed one day and say I am going to go win a National!!

Ricky needs to lose a few in order to compete with those young guys. Luckily his sheer talent is still awesome. Also the reason he never saw a throttle tube fall off in his whole career was due to great mechanics working on his bike. Your still the man Rick have fun and enjoy every minute.

bermblaster wrote: 6:17pm April 23, 2012

he got 10th overall because he wrecked in both motos and the motos are very short in amatuer racing, usually under 10 minutes, so if u wreck your pretty much done., no time to catch up like ricky said.. And for the guy that said he could win a outdoor national, no way. If he trained for a year and got his ass in shape he probably could win again.

I want to know what the guy lined up next to him in the plus 25 is thinking?

I hope he doesn't try to make a comeback to the nationals, time to relax, have some fun, and raise that family of his. Maybe someday get those kids of his racing?

Not to change the subject but did you guys know that RED BUD has dropped the AMA. Seems they belive that raising the the price to $49 was unjustified. It is about time some of the people who make there living from the sport recognize the plight of us who pay the bills. THANK YOU AMIE RICHIE you are my hero.

BlueStallion87 wrote: 8:00pm April 23, 2012

That's pretty gnarly that Red Bud dropped the Nationals...especially considering the Nationals promoters' are running this website...definitely not the right track to piss off considering they're the headline track for the outdoors.

that 7 minute video was better than two seasons of Bubbas world.

Profile Picture
ride4husky wrote: 8:56pm April 23, 2012

Same with gncc, they dropped AMA this year, guess they realized its hard enough with gas and everything else to make it to the races, that a price increase on a plastic card was enough.

FirstOrDirt wrote: 8:59pm April 23, 2012

They have the National and a LL reigonal this year there only AMA races. I believe
the FIM may take over the nationals next year

This is so cool because you get to see a side of Ricky we didn't see when he was racing, him having fun. He always had so much pressure and was so focused it looked like he hated it. Now even though he had some problems he's just like ''Now we have to break the tools and shit'', pretty cool to see. Hopefully he makes it LL but if not I am sure he will enjoy racing for what it really is.

Very cool vid. coool to see him looking like just a regular guy signing his release form in the truck and all , One thing he said that was interesting was that he never had fun when he was racing , allways worrying about winning , ...I have more fun now as a vet rider ,racing than I did when I was trying to make it to Lorettas , no pressure , and who cares if I had a bad Moto. RC is the Man . Roger is the Old Man ... Allways hated they called him the goat , RC The Man !!! his dad is pretty cool too

How awesome was this? his style is still there even if he is a bit rusty and out of shape. That step down landing was pretty gnarly!

How mad would you be if you went to a regional qualifier and and had to line up against the GOAT? Oh man those guys had to be going ''AHHHH MAN!!!!! WTF!?!?!?!"

Go have fun RC. So stinking cool that you still love to ride.

@bermblaster - LOL!!! True!!!!!!!!

Can someone verify the RED BUD information via a press release or other credible source?

Profile Picture
rickc wrote: 1:56am April 24, 2012

Ricky is not racing for Monster in the Nationwide anymore, because Monster pulled the money from his team, and gave it all to Kyle Bush, so him and his brother could go race in the Nationwide series. Ricky now has no race sponsor for any of the NASCAR levels now. This is also why he is doing the S-X races on SPEED as well.

Profile Picture
klrman1 wrote: 2:28am April 24, 2012

Now that was some fun stuff to see, way to go Ricky. Like he said, he had to race under pressure most of his life for wins, now he has his family along in the motor home just having fun. This is a guy that knows how to live. He's got nothing to prove to anyone for anything, so seeing him just doing it for the kicks is a real treat. Can't say though that there isn't a side of me that wishes he would train his butt off and race the nationals and give some of the young guys fits.

Backdraft wrote: 7:58am April 24, 2012

According to the Red Bud website, the pro-national is still on. As far as I can tell they have dropped the AMA, district 14 and joined the GLMX (Great Lakes Motocross). It applies to amateur racing only.

Also, the RC video is nice. Very cool to see him so,laid back.

bucky394 wrote: 8:24am April 24, 2012

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I like the fact that Jeremy Martin showed RC the way around the track! Great to see RC back PERIOD. His laid back atitude is very refreshing. And I was always a huge fan of his. And by always, I mean I will always be a fan, However, I think it would be cool for he and Jeremy to battle it out at L.L.'s. And, hate me if you want, but I want to see Jeremy come out on top. What a boost for his future that would be. As Ricky hones his skills, Jeremy will have his work cut out for him. But that is one race that I am really looking forward to. Good luck to the both of them!!

@FirstOrDirt. The reason Amy Ritchie droped the AMA is because she is money hungry BEEP BEEP. She droped the AMA to justify her raising her membership fee to $20.00 Dont be fooled. She doesn't care about the riders. She only cares about her pocket book. It takes a lot of money to feed that fat behind.

MX Bob wrote: 11:22am April 24, 2012

A few years ago I heard that the all the Michigan MX promoters were forming their own organization, instead of being part of the AMA district. I'm not sure if that happened or not.

I'd love to line up against RC. I'd try to have some there to take a picture when he was lapping me. Depending on how long the race was, they may have more than one opportunity for that photo.

Profile Picture
Motoguy9527 wrote: 11:43am April 24, 2012

@MX Bob. The promoters didn't leave the AMA a few years ago. The left District 14. They were trying to push all of the Clubs out. The Clubs formed together and showed every one that were not going any where. A couple of the promoter came back to the District because they realized that Amy Ritchie was only out for her self and not the riders. That is why she is droppiing the AMA this year. She want to raise her fees from $15.00 to $20.00 The money doesn't go to support anything except her on well being. I raced there series last year. And there awards were a joke. I threw mine in the trash.

MX Bob wrote: 12:34pm April 24, 2012

@Motoguy9527 Thanks for the clarification. We're lucky that there is are so many board members in D23. It helps keep a few promoters from controlling everything.

Glad to see Ricky running the A classes.Too many of these old pros are cherry picking amateur age classes. In my opinion if you ever held a pro licence you cannot run amateur classes,or make them a retired pro class. They make it tough for a true amateur to make it,they had thier time.

I'm with BillC on this one. RC was always my favorite hands down. But it would take him a long time to be competitive in an outdoor now. You have to consider his age/time off and the fact that the competition has stepped it up a notch since he left. But I would buy a ticket today if he came back!!!
