James Stewart OUT for New Orleans

Thursday, April 12, 2012 | 9:05 AM

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.James Stewart has been suffering from the effects of a fractured hand since his crash in Indianapolis, which was further aggravated in Houston. He will sit out round 14 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series this Saturday, April 14, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. to allow his hand additional time to recover. Before rejoining the series Stewart will have the injury re-evaluated by his doctor.

Stewart’s teammate, Davi Millsaps will be on the gate in New Orleans looking to advance to second overall in the series standings. CBS will air the original broadcast with next day coverage on April 15 starting at 1:00 p.m. (EST).

I think whether he tries to race anymore SX, is indictive of his commitment to the Outdoors, which has been the subject of speculation.

As in, if I was racing the 'tougher on your body' Outdoors I'd sit out SX.

If he stays in SX, I'd bet he skips the Outdoors.

@MxPhlipper,, If he were to skip MX, I would be willing to bet that JGR would drop him, or JS drop them.

Big surprise. I doubt we'll see him again this season.
Not a bad decision IF he commits to the outdoors and puts in the time; showing up PREPARED (both him and the bike). You know RV, RD and BT will be.

I'm thinking this is his excuse to get out of it all.I don't doubt he is injured but he just doesnt seem "there" anymore. Maybe he is just over it all. I've been over the whole Stewart camp including Malcom since the TV shows shed light on their personalities and home life. I detest parents trying to improve their livelyhoods through their children.

James + douche = Jouche.

Never any truth coming out of his camp. Not surprised if we hear JGR and JS part ways.

JGR ends up another victim of the self absorbed JSE bus.

This is silly. If this were Windham or Dungey we'd all be saying he was smart to get healthy for the outdoors and not risk further injury by continuing to ride hurt. Especially since the series is over. I've never been a fan of his, but this is smart, not the least bit offensive at all. Think before you type please.

If he truely has a broken hand he's doing the right thing. He's out of the championship so racing with a broken hand would get him what? It would be dumb.

That said, I sure hope he gets it together for the outdoors. He really hasn't been on his game since he fired Alden. That was his biggest mistake.

racerx i was reading that last post also on what is going on with James really people have tons of excuses but really i think James needs to realize that he shouldn't be riding just cause he is getting paid bank look at RV, Dungey, Reed, Windham, Hot sauce, Hill, Turbo Trey, and everyone else they are hear to ride and win championships and set records. James lost his spark from when RC left really thats what James wanted to do is beat the best but, really I think that James just really need to get his head out of the cash and stupid shit with dealing with money and start racing like how he use to and say I'm here to win and be called the fastest man on the planet. James if you do read this really i think you need to think about this because everyone else looks at you and doesn't see the James that use to come out and ride with a passion

He says he is racing outdoors. Unless someone knows different, then JS taking an injury break lies somewhere between understandable and commendable, yes?

No one else has sat out the last couple of years. The Ryans and Chad have all developed their speed at the same time over the past couple of seasons. Take your lumps James and be a man. If he doesn't race outdoors then he will lose a lot of respect from his fans. With no Reed and Canard we need James to add some excitement. Townley should add some fun to. Not trying to stir the pot, but according to some of the logic on here, he is to apparently be commended for sitting out the rest of SX and resting for outdoors if he's serious about it? Another said there's no point in him racing SX the rest of this season because the champ has been crowned already. I guess the way I see it then, what's the point of ANYONE lining up for the rest of the season? I'm guessing it has something to do with representing sponsors, extra incentive in the form of podium bonuses, etc. If he's injured, alright, rest up and sit out. We don't know the extent of his injuries fully, but if everyone were to sit out and rest up for outdoors, half the field would be gone. Alot of these guys ride through injury all season, and more often than not the public doesn't even know about it (Brayton, Milsapps' preseason knee surgery, and Windham riding banged up before he REALLY banged himself up, all come to mind).

There's plenty of argument against what I'm saying. Just trying to provoke some thought...

When James Stewart decided to stay with a Yamaha team for 2012, I knew from the get-go that was going to be the biggest mistake of his life. I thought he would have nothing but problems, and I was right, but not the kind of problems I thought he was going to have. I thought JS would have problems going into that "red zone" speed like how 2011 went for him, but instead, he's been involved in a lot of first lap hazards or early/late race crashes. The first thing he should've done was get away from his Dad, which I think he has; the 2nd thing: he should've just gone with the Suzuki team -- he didn't.

On a final note, James should just accept the fact that his career's down the toilet.

Add bad bike, lots of pressure to win, lack of confidence, and injury and it equals JS7's season so far...He will get off of that Yamaha...Book it.....and just so you have a clue I live in Charlotte,NC and have friends @JGR who have said the relationship is bad.

It is amazing how the Stewart fans still support him when all he has done since 2009 is make excuses and produce poor results. Every week he does something that shows he has ZERO!!! integrity and all he cares about is getting paid as much as possible for doing as little as possible. He makes at least 3 times as much as the champions ( Dungey/Poto) and his sponsors are still buying his scam. Why do you think Kawasaki never even offered a second contract? Why do you think L/M wanted nothing to do with him? When JS7 was at his best he could have won on a bone stock bike, its not the bike! He has not been in race winning shape since 2009. He thinks he is so much better than his comp that he doesn't need to train as hard as everybody else. The truth is when he didn't race for 18 months the sport evolved and he has never been able to catch back up. He still believes he is the FMOP and blames his results on everything but himself. I believe his best days are way behind him and its sad that their are so many great riders out there and JS7 is taking the bulk of sponsorship money and he seems to be trying harder not to race than giving the sport the 100% it deserves. How his fans think that he is good for the sport I will never understand, for the last three years he has done nothing but take from the sport and give VERY little in return. I think the sport is much better off without JS7 at this point. Joe Gibbs must be sick about his decision to hire Stewart.

I cracked mine in December one year - had no pain doing normal activities - tried to race outdoor MX 8 weeks later - after 5 laps the pain was unbelievable - and this is at a local level, Vet A rider speed - NOT pro level supercross. But for you guys to say he isn't injured is ridiculous, clearly something isn't right and after all the dirt naps the guy has taken since January, being injured seems like is would of happened a long time ago.

It's going to be a long downward spiral for all you JS nuthuggers out there, I can't believe there hasn't been a mass suicide yet considering he hasn't done anything since 2009. You are a loyal group I'll give you that, blind to the reality but loyal. Keep crying and makings excuses while the new generation of champions keep on winning. @farscape I can answer your 2 arguments with 1 answer! If the bike is so bad, how come he has won like 11 out of 13 heats? If his fitness is so good, why has he won almost all his heats and only 2 main events? I don't see how the JS7 fans can say its the bike with all those heat race wins. How could anyone think his fitness is not an issue when he wins almost everything in the heats and struggles to get on the podium when there is 20 laps? @preston most of the reason the boards light up for JS7 is because people are so sick of all his excuses and missing races that they have to vent their anger. I don't think Stewart would have so many haters if he wasn't being paid so much to do so little.

.I swear to you JS7 is crashing more on that POS Yamaha because of the effort it takes to overcome the flaws the bike has.....And to answer why he does better in heats the answer is simple people half the comptetion and 1/3 the laps, sprinkled with better track condition equals better chance to pull a good result. Add bad bike, lots of pressure to win, lack of confidence, and injury and it equals JS7's season so far...He will get off of that Yamaha...Book it.....and just so you have a clue I live in Charlotte,NC and have friends @JGR who have said the relationship is bad.

And all you guys bashing him, he could careless. He still makes the headlines and
frontline media. And tons of money with or without JGR. Him and his buisiness staff are very smart. He makes a lot of coin racing or sitting. There is no other rider or personality in this sport that peaks everyones interest more than him.

Man, get with it ya'lll. JS is injured and needs time to heal.

How else is he going to hold on to the line, wake boarding? You can't if you're hands broken. Or doesn't he have community service due from his impersonating a law enforcement officer conviction, so he can’t race outdoors. But you’ll be able to see him picking up trash along the 95 South or possibly 75 North. J/K!!!!!

JS is probably one of the most gifted riders in the history of motocross and is fast on raw skill. The problem is no matter what bike JS rides, these 450 even up the playing field. These are far from the 2 stroke days of who had the biggest balls to quad something, let alone be the only one to scrub a triple at the time.

@JS Just get on your bike and if top 5 is the best you got, so be it. Leave you're ego at home under your pillow. You don’t owe us fans anything, cause we’ll buy tickets with or without you. But as a man, you need to step up and earn your keep and GIVE BACK TO YOUR EMPLOYER AND SPONSORS. I WOULD BE PISSED IF I WAS BIG JAMES.

Once healed up, get on your Yami and get into riding shape for 2013 SX. I'm not talking racing yourself at home (of course your going to win, maybe pay RV to run 20 minute moto so you have a bench mark), I talking outdoors. You're never going to get the bike to do what you want. You're going to have to make adjustments to your riding style. Sorry to "Break the News" to you kid.

@ScrubThis- So you have given up on using the 33 year old Timmy Ferry as a negative yardstick to invalidate the 2008 perfect session season for Medium'Stew.

"Andrew Short is a good a measuring rod for comparing the current top rides.
In 2008 MX lil"Stew beat AS, who finished 3rd on the session, in every moto."

But you fail to mention that Medium'Stew finished the 2008 season 208 points ahead of Andrew Short- by comparison Chad Reed finished his 2009 title season 93 points ahead of Andrew Short. It appears that Andrew Short was far more competitve against Chad Reed, no? Interestingly, Reed has been Villopoto's toughest competitor since Jan 2011 when he began winning the 450 titles.
2009 Final 450 Motocross Points: 1. Chad Reed 481- 2. Andrew Short 388- 3. Ivan Tedesco 376- 4. Michael Byrne 348- 5. Thomas Hahn 302- 6. Josh Grant 280- 7. Justin Brayton 249- 8. Nicholas Wey 200- 9. Cody Cooper 191- 10. James Albertson 185. He also lost 2 of the first 3 rounds to Mike Alessi before Alessi wrecked his knee and dropped out.
By your version of reality and so called on-the-down-low logic, Chad Reeds 2009 outdoor season is far more invalid than the perfect session of Medium'Stew 2008. But you have not invested one single keystroke into belittle the 2009 summer of Chad Reed- as you are too busy finding ways to belittle the 2008 perfect session season of Medium'Stew.
Your creepy fixation on Medium'Stew here is what concerns me- maybe you should seek some therapy. There is still time.

I think the lamest argument is, you guys can't ride that fast so shut up. So we can't criticize anybodies performance unless we've done that job. Clueless. I've never been President so I can't say anything. Do you have a favorite football team? You've never criticized a play call, a quarterbacks bad throw, a Phil Mickelson decision (pro golfer for those that don't know).

Does the talk get out of hand? Absolutely. Some of it James brought on himself. Hired by JGR and he says he is going after MC's record. At this stage that's just goofy. If he had an incredible year maybe mention it in passing. Personal goals are good but sometimes keep them to yourself. Another example when he was going to race those four outdoor races and said on his site -paraphrasing, "I can't wait to race outdoors, I'm going to win". And when you don't back it up the insults will fly.

Is it the bike? I don't know. Is it the rider? I can't tell you that either. All the speculation in the world will NOT answer those questions. So I won't try.

Lets throw this out there...

If the YZ450 is the issue, I wonder (if JS cannot get out of his contract) why not hit the nationals on a heavily breathed on YZ250. Sure he will give up a few positions on the start. But I bet the bike would be an asset on most tracks after the start. I would pay to see that.

For @ScrubThis-
"And as stated above, if CR fans had low IQ like the stewtards, that would be claiming that CR is the greatest because of his 2009 MX title. But they don't have the low of an IQ."
Medium'Stew is not the 'greatest' but he has done more than Reed- two 125 outdoor titles to Reed's zero 125 titles- 28 consecutive moto wins in 125 outdoors beating Carmichael's record (in which r/c's was attained with a little extra help from Mike Brown)- what is Reeds longest winning streak? Beat Carmichael straight up in an outdoor moto or two- how many times did Reed beat Carmichael outdoors? Perfect session season 24 and 0- how many for Reed? Won some outdoor motos by over a minute- how many times for Reed?

"Using Google for an ESTIMATE:
valentino rossi - 25,000,000
travis pastrana - 7,280,000
nicky hayden - 5,490,000
kenny roberts - 2,740,000
jeremy mcgrath - 725,000
james stewart - 453,000
ricky carmichael - 414,000"

Funny- I just typed james stewart jr at google and got 31,4000,000 not 453,000.

"And why was lil'stew given his own show? Personalty, appearance, wittiness, intelligence, speaking ability, charisma, ..."

Was Medium'Stew GIVEN a tv show?? I thought he bought it with his own money? Reed could have a tv show too if he wanted one- he just doesnt want one. It is true that Medium'Stew would have been much better off without his stupid tv show.

"Whatever the reason, it is likely the same reason he was named one of "20 Teens Who Will Change the World" in the April 2003 issue of Teen People magazine."

And who are the other 19 teens?- did any of them "change the world"? Or is Medium'Stew the only 'failure' on the list? More information please...

"Other than Chad Reed, lii'stew has yet to beat any significant top tier ride for a title."

Medium'Stew beat the reigning 125 outdoor champ Mike Brown in his rookie year. For three years he beat Grant Langston. But I guess according to your on-the-down-low standards he is not a "top tier rider' what with only a 125 world gp title- a 125 outdoor ama title- a 450 outdoor ama title- and east and west regionl sx title. After all there are '100 other riders who could have beat him' right?

You cannot hide your creepy fixation on Medium'Stew no matter how hard you try. As far as calling the names, I do not see the the exclusive trend for only Stewtards to be calling names- it seems that all tards call names on here- you are just looking through Stewtard colored glasses.

It's interesting that there are 3 road racers with WAY more than the mx'ers, I didn't realize road racing was so popular, I don't watch it at all myself.
And Pastrana is in a completely different category- having crossed into so many different off road genres.

I will however bash them doing things that show massive character flaws.

HEY!!!..... Rumor has it that JS7 has just dyed his hair red. This should restore balance to the "FORCE".

wow, this is a quite a debate lol! Some good theories, some bad theories, and some really bad ones.

I would love to see JS out there simply because the more "fast" guys battling it out, the better. But I won't be surprised at this point if Stewart hangs up his boots for good.

Now, I would be surprised if he races any national this year. I'm not a big fan, or a hater, but the series would be better off with him than without...simple as that.

I would be interested to see what James would do on a factory Suzuki, or to a lesser extent a Honda...If he still has the drive to win that is.

@ Preston - Man you just cannot ever drop that big chip on your shoulder can you? I think I will start using terms like black trash just because you use terminology in your posts that deprecate groups of people and you do the EXACT same thing you accuse others of doing. You are a race baiting hypocrite of the worst kind.

So its OK for you to use terminology like that, but if someone bashes your beloved Bubbles for ANYTHING then they are the racist? Ever hear of something called CHARACTER? That is all that matters and you have absolutely none.
