This is just about stupid.Barcia should of been a 450 rider this year.
Fred I agree, he is wasting a good year
I voted for Rattray. How long is he gonna milk it in the Lites? Tryin' to beat Langston's stay?
Yea, I picked Barcia, just because he's the most fun to watch out of that group. I think Wilson will be fast on a 450, just because of his riding style,,, smooth..
Duh, all of them!!
Rattray came over late, but this is year 4, move up.
Wharton, year 5, move up
Hahn, year 4, but he's been hurt so much, one more year is ok.
Rest are so young still, 2 more years MAX, but we know Barcia and Wilson will be there next year, correct??
I would've put Barcia on a 450 this year outdoors, thinking no way he would win the title based on his past performances outdoors, but this 250 sx season showed otherwise (to me). Whether its Stanton helping him, maturity or a combo of things, he seems capable of winning the mx title.
I cant wait to see Barcia in with the big boys.I think they will use him up for a while until he earns some respect! I think he will come in there and try to push some guys around, and that wont go over so well when you have 6-8 guys that can give it back.
Think Wilson is going to be awesome on the big bikes.Theres going to be so many younger riders coming up that are all around riders, not just SX only types.
Even this late in the series with all the injuries there are still very good main event riders not getting into the mains. Can you just imagine if 4 or 5 of these guys moved up and everyone gets healthy again in the off season?
What about Sipes? He's been in lites forever!
I voted for Cole Seely. I just cant get with Barcia"s "bounce off of every rider style". He's fast as all get out but the 450 vets are gonna show him what for...
Rattray on a 450?? Never happen
Barcia IS supposed to be competing in the 450 Outdoor Nationals this Summer. He's in the 250 SX class for the last time... to defend/wear the #1 for Geico Honda. Then he's done with the 250's.
Didn't Barcia go over to Europe for a race (With other american riders and it was a supercross style race) And smoked every single one of them? I'm pretty he's smart enough to not take anyone out.. But bang bars?? No, that's good fun racing in his eyes. Like he said once "Bob Hanna did it, so Why can't I?" Also, he almost won the overall, where was it Southwick?, on the 450... Just saying. I think he'll hold his own.
Christian Craig...THANK YOU!!!!
@ME Gusta762 Barcia went to Europe no he did not smoke everyone.
I'm gonna just go ahead and go out on a limb and make a bold and most likely unpopular prediction. Barcia will never win a national title, regional supercross is the best that he can hope for. He's not all that great outdoors, except maybe Southwick and Unadilla, the tracks around where he grew up. That's not enough for a title with the competition the way it is these days. 450 supercross is his only real shot and I just don't see him pulling it together and beating all the talent there is now for an entire series, he doesn't seem to have the mental strength. He's also in for a rude awakening if he starts trying to push the big boys around. I'm not saying what he's doing now isn't impressive, but let's remember that the talent is split in half, and may not be split evenly. Roczen had no prep time from his injury, who knows what's up with Bagget, Wharton has been out for a while with injury, and Durham frankly is just an average rider on a great team (and by the way, what was up with that takeout in the main this weekend, totally ridiculous and unnecessary). Anyway, I'm sure most of you disagree because he makes his bike loud so you think he must be fast, only time will tell.
I dunno Pala was pretty good last year, Barcia was getting alot out of that Honda 450. Sad that race is no longer on he schedule. But yes, I can't see Barcia getting on the podium every week until Reed and Stewart retire. Add in Wilson, who I think will be the one to unseat RV when he gets the 450 figured out. Looks at times like he wants more out of his PC250f.
I think Barsha could contend for occasional SX wins and some moto wins outdoors on a 450. warrior462 nailed it tho........he's got a lot of maturing to do as a racer before contending for a 450 title. He can certainly step into the Stewie role fast and reckless when JS7 retires.
Wilson is the guy I voted to see since Barcia WILL be there anyway.
Who said Barcia is riding 450 outdoors? I haven't seen anything on that. I think he is riding the 250s. Honda now has Townley on Reed's Honda and they'll have Brayton out there. Last year Canard and Grant were out.
It was smart for Barcia to ride and defend his #1 plate and stay in the Lites for this year. Look how much he has smoothed out from this year to last year as a rider. The additional year of experience he will gain this year will be very valuable. Also, you look at guys who have jumped up too early IMO, for examply RC. After 2 years he jumped up and it was a crashfest highlight reel. Even though he went undefeated in SX in 98', he still had a lot to learn as far as riding smooth and making mistakes. (He still hit the deck quite a few times in 98)
I think he is riding the 250f this year in the nationals, as he is under contract to ride for Geico Honda. The only way I see him moving up this summer is if the Honda riders are injured and he is not doing so well on the 250 like last year. I think he will be in contention to win races but rookie mistakes will keep him out of contention for any titles in his first few years. Once he matures as a rider I think he can be in contention to win some titles.
rookie mistakes meaning when he jumps up to the 450 full time
@fred, Then how did he end up with a huge win? He smoked them, plan and simple.
Me_Gusta, you need to go read something about Bercy SX 2011, because you are clearly very confused.
ME-Gusta 762,you asked a question I answered it now you come back and challenge me on it.I watched one race where he had a huge lead with like 2or3 laps to go and Reed ran hime down and passed him like a little witch. Then ther was Bercy 2011 some euro put the BamBam move on him and Barcia showed his ass.The Euro rider stopped to kick his ass and he ran off like a little puss.So once again the answer to your question is no he did not.I suggest that you not ask question if you don't want those answered.Barcia is a great rider but just because he is smoking the lites region class doesn't mean he can beat the big boys. You got people on here who think he can win the 450 outdoors because he winning the lites regional SX class. If all the big boys are healthy they would run him down(he's a great starter)and blow by.If he trys to do his little BamBam to them they will do the SLAM BAM THANK YOU MAM knock his little nut duster in the dust.STAMP IT!!! He might be a 5th or 6th place rider out doors in the 450 class.
Tomac,he was putting down 450 lap times in the west.
Wasn't Barcia on a 450 outdoors last summer?- he didn't look like no 5th or 6th place rider.
@WFO UFO Good grief.Stewart,Canard plus Reeds deal. Those guys were not there. If these guys had been at 100% he would of been 5th or 6th most motos.
Fred you need to lay off the tard pills- or at least share them with everybody. Barcia finished a moto ahead of Dungey once- Villopoto twice- and Reed 3 times, all within 8 motos. I dont think you are giving him enough credit- but I understand that those tard pills can alter your perception somewhat.
I remember Barcia swerving quite a bit with title contenders and almost killing one of them (Dungey). He went out there with nothing to lose in the middle of an intense championship fight with racers that had everything to lose and nothing to gain with him there. Barcia racing the 450 for a few races was a stupid thing for him and Honda to do. It was extremely disrespectful to Villopoto and Dungey. Mike Alessi also had quite the first impression on the 450 outdoors... Barcia didn't prove anything.
I think it is good for Barcia to race 250F in the outdoors and try to win the Lites title. He needs to mature a little more outdoors and prove he can contend for wins week in and week out, manage the title chase while racing the longer motos, etc, etc. I believe his success on the 450F was partly due to having a low pressure environment to perform in, compared to the Lites where he was expected to win and contend. He has obviously improved and matured enormously in SX since last season and I think he will show it outdoors.
Winning a few Lites outdoors titles was not a bad thing for RV....
@Fres, You're missing what I'm saying, BRO. I'm not talking about When Reed passed him, or 2011 Bercy. It was 2010 I do believe. I suggest you understand what people are asking before you go all Obama and walk around the question with other things that have similar resemblance and not answer what someone is asking.
Also, Stewart hasn't run the Outdoor Championship in a few years, so you cannot throw him into that mix of riders. After this year, sure throw him in all you want.
It was the 2010 Bercy Supercross. 2/3 wins to earn THE KING OF BERCY. So Yes, He DID go to Europe, and he DID smoke everyone. THE END.
You should of said what year Me Gusta. In 2010 there were no top Americans there. He was the fastest American.Plus I think they were on 250 that year.Next time don't ask the question if you already hav the answer smartass.
Oh my god you're stupid. I couldn't remember what race it was. I had to search through the 2010 race archives on here to figure out what race it was. So no, I didn't know the answer to my own question. But there was top name motocross racers (Antonio Cairoli, Arnada blah, blah) Which they give a good run to our guys a decent run for their money.. Well, besides this past MXoN.
your are a idiot.
Says the guy who can't even use proper grammar...
Can't spell either.I guess your the better man because you have better grammer.I didn't adress that statement to anyone in particular,I think its funny that you replied to it.
tomac, Tomac, TOMAC... i thought it was hilarious to see Wilson riding around celebrating like he won the ship after his last win when Tomac woulda smoked him if he didn't crash out, and you guys wanna talk about maturity? the only reason Tomac doesn't come up is because he is so mature and flies under the radar because of it. And how bout his first ever MX race, win, rookie sx season, just about won it all
resolution, absolutely Tomac has a far brighter looking future than Barcia, but he needs 2013 on 250's to get himself prepared to run with the big guys. He's a year behind Barcia in experience, and it's pretty clear that he's already a better all around rider. People just don't seem to like talking about riders who aren't constantly putting themselves in the spotlight with controversy and garbage detrimental to the sport.
Never said that I was, Fred.. But I'm going to leave it at that. You can dish it, but you can't take it. People get so mad/aggravated about nothing. That's why it's so fun to post in the comment section.
