Kevin Strijbos 1st place MX-1 British National Championships.
Former World number two Kevin Strijbos and newest EKS BRAND team member has won the opening round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship with 1-1-1 results. The Belgian who now races for the Red Bull KTM UK team looked strong all day and easily took the checkered flag against some of the fastest in the world. Kevin is looking storng to be a top contender in the World Championships for 2012.
Other EKS BRAND notables in the MX-2 class were: Jason Dougan 6th and Dorron Coutts in 10th.
Zach Osborne 1st place MX-2 British National Championships.
After an increadble US SX campaign in the US, Zach quickly took his skill to the off road world by winning a National off road race. Now he has set his sites back to Europe where he raced his first actual motocross race in several months. Zach put his amazing racing skills to work by winning! Consistency paid off in the three moto format at the first round of the British National Championships at the famous "Fat Cat" track in Yorkshire. The deep sand was tough but Zach saw his way near to the front of the pack in all three motos to win the overall victory while acquiring the red plate for the series. He will be a favorite to win the World Championship this year!
Other EKS BRAND notables: Elliott Banks Browne 3-DNF-4. A DNF in the second moto cost him a for sure podium finish.
Ivan Ramerez 1st place SCORE Tecate San Felipe 250.
Hare & Hound National Champion Kurt Caselli began his quest for his first Baja title on the right foot by winning the 26th SCORE Tecate San Felipe 250 in Baja California, Mexico, March 12, along with teammate and EKS BRAND goggle racer, Ivan Ramirez on the Red Bull KTM 450 SX-F. The San Felipe race was the first of the three-round SCORE Baja Desert Series for motorcycles. The Caselli/Ramirez KTM crossed the finish line approximately 16 minutes ahead of the JCR Honda team made up of Colton Udall, David Kamo and EKS BRAND's Timmy Weigand on the Honda CRF450X. The Honda team was delayed significantly when Weigand suffered a hard get-off and Campbell had to get on the bike and get it to the next rider trade-off.
Glen Karney 3rd Jason Thomas 4th XC-2. GNCC River Ranch Florida.
FAR Racing/Husqvarna's Glenn Kearney and Jason Thomas led for a bit in the tough, sandy conditions. both looked very fast. Kearney, who is filling in for the injured Andrew DeLong aboard the F.A.R, EKS BRAND Husqvarna for the first two rounds of racing, got off to a rough start as well but put himself into podium contention right away, battling with GNCC regulars such as Jesse Robinson. Husaberg-backed Robinson also closed strong and finished second, with Kearney on the XC2 podium in his first GNCC since 2010. With a good start expect to see the Husky's on the top of the podium!
Other EKS BRAND notables:Jordan Ashburn 6th XC1, Jedediah Haines 6th XC2, Cole Kirkpatrick 8th XC2 and Brad Bakken 10th XC2.
Dustin Nelson, 1st-2nd, David Haagsma 2nd-1st, Beau Barron 4th-3rd. National Quad X series round 1 and 2, Glen Helen CA.
Rounds 1 and 2 are in the books for the 2012 National Quad X series and the EKS BRAND riders proved that once again they are the force to be reckoned with! They dominated every moto of the two day race and ended up coming out of the first two rounds in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the overall championship point standings!
Gary Sutherlin 1st place, Laughlin National Hare Scrambles.
EKS BRAND's Gary Sutherlin and Destry Abbott teamed up to win the GPR Stabilizers Best in the Desert Laughlin U.S. Hare Scrambles in Nevada, March 3. The Monster Energy Kawasaki-backed duo worked their way up during the course of the race to catch early leaders David Pearson, riding solo, and the Justin Morrow/Nick Burson team.
On adjusted time, Abbott and Sutherlin finish approximately a minute and 20 seconds ahead of the Morrow/Burson team, followed by the Purvines Racing/Kawasaki team of Jacob Argubright and Mathew Henderson.
Kyle Chisolm 12th, Daytona SX
EKS BRAND racer Kyle Chisolm had the cards stacked against him at the gnarliest mud SX race in years. His 7th place finish in the heat race left him with a horrible gate pick for the main. On a track that was so muddy and one lined it was nearly impossible to pass. Kyle rode strong and did the best he could from a back of the pack start. 12th place in conditions like that is a job well done!
Thank you and Congratulations to all the EKS BRAND athletes!
