looks like a triple right after the 2nd corner.. Not good..

@mxmofo1 I agree, its never good to have a triple that early in the track when everyone is so close off the start. The chances of someone being landed on is very high.

agreed, even bubba twittered something like that, really not safe, awesome for fans to watch but def not safe, should make it mandatory to double the triple outta the corner

Pretty nice other than that though.

@Motod6,, We all know its dangeruos, but why try to make it dangerous ? Common sense man, c'mon....

Motod6 wrote: 3:22pm February 21, 2012

@ mxmofo1: Look sport, I see what you're saying but the “danger factor” fills the stands. It sucks but it is what it is. That’s what these guys get paid for. Do you think the riders would be willing to take pay cuts in return for safer tracks. Beside’s they already have “safer” Supercross it’s called Arenacross.

I don't know why they made the track that wide, it's not going to be used ! No passing last week. No passing this week. Geeeesh.

@Motod6, Look here son,, Canard and Morais are lucky to be walking,, and breathing.. If you are a fan, and like to see that sort of thing happen to riders, then you have problems that are well over my pay grade.. These guys get paid to RACE, not risk their lives over stupid, dangerous track designs.. As I hope you know, its pretty easy to put the triples somewhere else on the track.. Its pretty easy for YOU to say "but it is what it is," when you are sitting at home watching it on TV...

Profile Picture
Motod6 wrote: 4:17pm February 21, 2012

Sigh. WOW. Never once said "like to see that sort of thing happen to riders". But since you clearly know me I have no need to explain. Just settle down and dry your eyes.

mxmofo1 wrote: 4:21pm February 21, 2012

@Motod6,, Well, it seems pretty clear to me that you don't care if riders get hurt.. It is what it is,, right ?? Also, notice I said "IF."

Um ok, yeah, clearly.

"NEWS FLASH!!!! THIS JUST IN!!!! MOTOCROSS IS DANGEROUS!!!! And in other news water is wet!!!"

WOW,, none of us knew that.... Go tell Canard and Morais that "it is what it is."

Every pro rider should make that triple easy because my dad could do it on his Penton. If you not going to triple it then lay back on the start and let the men do it then go for the dub. CR got hurt in an easy section so who knows what is dangerous except the sport itself.

mxmofo1.. Does your husband get mad when you jump to conclusion's and change what he said too. I didn't just say "it is what it is." I said "I see what you're saying but the “danger factor” fills the stands. It sucks but it is what it is". Since you insist on quoting over and over. If you fill so strongly about then write Dirt Wurx a letter. I'm sure they'd they love to hear from you. Or you could just blog about it. Thanks for helping the time pass!

Profile Picture
mxmofo1 wrote: 5:51pm February 21, 2012

@Claxton,, ahhhh,, its not about "clearing the triple." Once you figure out what the point is, let me know.

@Motod6,, No,, I wont write Dirt Wurx,, I wanna see riders land on each other like you do,, because it is what it is.. Thats what they get paid for, right ??

I think the ama will step in soon cause to many spin injuries this year it is almost one per race .That is crazy

Profile Picture
DPoe322 wrote: 8:18pm February 21, 2012

@Motod6 We just made a statement that its a bad spot for a triple. YES we know its a dangerous sport, thats not the point, its a rider safety issue.

Im sure you know how sketch hitting a 70 foot triple can be around 20 guys in your local D class. Whats your point hombre??? You make NO sense.

Profile Picture
dw5914 wrote: 8:28pm February 21, 2012

JS7 leaving a stupid tweet wont do anything about the track layout and where the triples are placed. its going to take a group of riders speaking with ama and dirtwrks before something is going to be done. as far as the neck/spine injuries... things are going to happen, at the speed these guys ride neck brace or no neck brace bad things can happen. its just the way it is. maybe the riders should make a gentlemens agreement to not hit the triple on the first lap??? they are the ones racing its up to them.. i dont care either way. my cents worth

dungey will be good and actually lead a bit we will see. Rv will be loving it in atlanta and wait then pounce on him but we'll be treated to some good battling so don't give up just yet!

Still seems sketchy, but at least theres not a rhythm section out of the first turn like last year in jacksonville. that was a clusterfu**

Unable to watch.....WTF?
If we coould get 20min + 2 laps and Emig to shut up for 2 sec during broadcasting, viewers would be in heaven.

Lets hear the bikes and crowd for once EMIG, you dont have to run your chops the whole time.

theOriginalB wrote: 11:33am February 22, 2012

you can hear the bikes when that girly girl shoves a mic in the face of the dude who just wadded it up... cuz he cant hear her, now that's not needed.
and emig rules ...
instead of those useless interviews fro should do some lounge singing like lance mountain did on cool old sk8 vids...

@Chilllmatic,, yes, that would be bad also,, but alot better than triples.. At least they wouldn't be getting landed on from 20 feet in the air..

motojoe710 wrote: 1:20pm February 22, 2012

not even open for discussion. a triple out of the starting corner is dangerous. they should fill with dirt between the second and third jump. then call it a ski or sky jump.
the announcers could then yell who will be first to hit the sky/ski jump

Looks like a pretty fun track.

Supercross has had triples near the first turn for a long time. The start of this track looks very similar to Dallas/Arlington last year and it was fine. We don't need table tops or ski jumps on a Supercross track. Its a long start with a wide turn, they will get spread out. And if you can hit the triple then for the love of god don't go for the holeshot. What happened to Canard and Morais was terrible but it wasn't the triples fault. It wasn't the track or the maker of the tracks fault either.

Just read through this thread, and , MXMOFO is in another arguement with someone. WHAT wait, no way you say , not him?? But yes, imagine that huh?? Someone disagreed with him and of course he tells them THEY are wrong and not him. Shocking huh??

The track looks awesome! I am pumped. I hope Dungey and Stewart get off with a good start in front of RV so at least we will see some good passing before he checks out on the entire field.

I'm hoping Bogle puts a stiff block pass on MS.
