Finally looks like we might have a REAL whoop section, looks like it could be the best track yet. The 180 turns should allow for plenty of passing..... cant wait!

Real whoops! Finally. I bet most of the riders will be happy too. Jumps could lead to some interesting combinations, too.

I see we're back to "let's waste as much floor space as possible to keep the races short". Fastest times will be under 50 seconds, that's just not acceptable. Can we get this done and get outdoors again?

Track looks super simple, which is fine, have not had any of these classic SX tracks yet.

First thought I had when I saw that was what a waste of space... Could of easy added another 10 second to the lap tone there! We fans and spectators get done over again with sub 50 sec laps.

looks like a quick night of racing fast lap times and easy rythem triple triple double into the corner tracks are so lame this year

Must be a premium on dirt in Oakland with the waste of space. Fast lap time of 45 seconds, possibly. Jump sections look fast except for one section of them.

Maybe CBS ordered it short so they could get more commercials in.

Track definitely looks fast. We will see... on Sunday :(

Yep, really short. They should stick to tinkering with the A1 design. The track looks good but being so short, It's all gonna come down to the start. I'm betting the riders will really like it though. Question is, what's more important for the sport, fan opinion or rider opinion?

jump, jump, turn, whoops, jump, jump, turn. yawn.

45 second lap times, um, a 12 minute main is too short. It is absurd to talk about "training" when the races are 12-16 mins long. Stupid. Remember when this was an endurance sport?

No doubt about it rg807... but when you have a circus firm (FELD) promoting, you get what you get.

If it were in my hands... it would be 20mins +2.

They moved the first triple WAY into the race, the fifth straight.
At least they are thinking about what happened last week.
I agree LOTS of wasted space.
Don't worry CBS will give us small doses of actual racing.
I would rather them just show both 250 and the 450 mains
Yes, we miss the heats but at least we get to watch both mains in one sitting.

my cereal, my peanut butter, my potato chips all have less product in the package, yet the prices goes up. Supercross has become the same thing. I no longer go to my area SX just because sitting thru a 3 hour "show" to watch less than an hour of actual racing is unnacceptable.

Changes need to be made to allow for more, or at least longer racing.

20+2, and bring back the semis gets my vote. Right now it has a circus feel.

wow, this could be the shortest lap time track in the history of supercross. People make fun of arenacross but this track isnt that much better. there isnt anything on these tracks that separates the fast guys. Which, in turn, makes for better racing i guess. just wish the lap times were longer.

@jbomx363 I agree, I can't blame the track designers this week, just the lame 20 lap format. Both classes 20 min +2

maybe they plan on making the whoops super deep ?......hope so that will surely slow the lap times down....

Relax. This is the first race this year in a football sized stadium, so it may not be as small as it looks; though I agree the floor was not optimized. The tracks have been planned out for months, you can see them at: http://www.motoxaddicts.com/2011/11/29/2012-ama-supercross-track-maps-released/

They are mixing the tracks up from round to round much better than they've done in previuos years. This gives ALL the riders and opportunity to excel on the tracks layouts they feel more comfortable with and helps promote change on who makes the podium from week to week. You know, actually making the series and pts lead more competitive...who whould've thought of such a thing?!

Some of you need a bandaid on your vag.

It's all about betting where Stewie will crash this time......The MX world has passed the clown by. He's riding so far over his head. He's got amazing luck and keeps walking away......that always catches up.

This track is so short Villopoto is gonna be roosting himself. These generic tracks are the reason I dislike Supercross. Can't wait til the outdoors.

Another lame short, 46 seconds?, track? why the penny pinching poor utilization of floor space every time in Nor-Cal?

Some day ( hopefully) the semi races will come back and the timed stuff will go away.
Not sure whom said this first, but timed qualifications lead to a single fast line, Where a semi race would naturally help the track develop multiple lines, thus better racing and more of it. Oh well still love the sport and look forward to Saturday nights.I guess we should all be happy FELD doesn't take a tip from supermoto and just fill the stadium with metal jumps.
