Have to wait until Monday to watch the Lites? BTW, could they have come up with a stupider name than 'Lites'?

Yes, mini-Supers.

@endoman38- yes i myself find "Lites" to be almost degrading and an insult. consider that these Lites bikes are usually within a second as same lap times of the 450's. oh well it is a beaten dead horse, no need in getting wound up over it anymore. haha

@manes-will they be uploaded if they haven't even been on TV yet? And I always DVR the races anyways, but if it is going to be on Monday why at noon? Or as posted above the new time of 12 then oo not 00

How hard is it just to call them the 450 class, and 250 class?? So freaking easy its funny..

Profile Picture

I imagine only the tv and media people call them lites. Most people in normal conversation call it 250/450.

Lites sounds like a beer or cigarette,no live feed = no intrest.

Profile Picture
bucky394 wrote: 9:39am January 21, 2012

Never really thought about it before, but yeah, Lites, it is kinda wrong. Think about this for a second-light beer-are the people that drink it light? Not usually. Diet pop-same thing-the people drinking it don't look to be dieting. Pretty much a givin these things don't work either. But people go for it anyways. LOL What is it with a name? Come up with a good one and sell to beat hell. Whatever works, I guess.

I do know already but if you are going to give information, at least give up all the info one needs to watch the race.

Its called the lights class because 4-strokes are not real motorcross bikes, they are simpley woods bikes with the headlights removed!

The 450's are on CBS tomorrow at 12 and the 250's are on Speed Monday at 12. Dumbest shit ever. DirecTV needs to make a SX/MX package like they do for all other sports (NFL Sunday Ticket, NHL Center Ice, MLB Extra Innings, etc.) so we can watch everything on one channel and live. If they did that, we probably wouldn't have to deal with the stupid "Rock Hard, Ride Hard" award and even dumber Ralph Sheheen. I'd pay for that. Pretty much all motocross people would switch to DirecTV, guaranteed.

what people fail to realize that back when cable tv came about, you were going to pay tv to stop the commercials, but they did not keep there end of the deal and now you pay to watch commercials and the cable and the satellite companies or now get moneys from both ends if you are paying to watch tv with all the commercials you are getting ripped, the advertiser is paying the bill, and I for one will NEVER GO BACK TO PAYING FOR TV!!!
DirecTV=rip off
my biil went to over seventy five dollars for basic, called to cancel, and they insisted I talk to the customer a$$ kisser, and he kept lowering the the price and I says cancel, still lower, got them down to 27 dollars, (proof they were stealing from me)
and I said Cancel My account now, that goes to show all of you that they are just nickel and dimming you to the breaking point.
and you have to pay for HD
HD is free with my antenna!!!

tompound - it says 12:00 EST on CBS above, not sure what else RX can do to make an angry person such as yourself happy other than coming over to your house and personally turning on the TV for you. I love the information RX provides the fans online - for free, no subscription required - and particularly applaud things like the rider injury reports which were a complete mystery until they started doing them last year. Enjoy the race.

To me, 250 and 450 make the most sense, like they do it outdoors. Even someone who knows nothing about motocross, and or is a moron, can figure out that a 450 is a bigger engine than a 250.

Classes like Lites and Xtreme make it look like motorcyclists can't spell.

MX Bob wrote: 1:19pm January 21, 2012

That aside, I love that I can watch the 450 Main on network TV. I'm cable-impaired and don't have Speed or Fuel (the channel names). I don't find out what happened, and watch it Sunday like it's live. A low-tech approach, I admit.

I find some of the comments very interesting. The comment about paying for cable, so true. I waste about 200 bucks a month on it. My wife won't let me cancel anything cause "its for meeeee and my viginaaaa" she proclaims. Another thing that I find very disturbing is the fact the races are not all live. Phennis is live, Galf is live, Fagball is life, and gayball is life and even Asscar is live. For those who dont know: Fagball is footaball and Gayball is Basketball. I played football because my parents couldn't afford the bikes and basketball- who wants a dude to box-out on his junk. I guess its "hardcore" to have your junk smack a dude in his ass.
Bottom line, If they can broadcast a bunch douchie fruits turning left the whole time live. Why can't they do it for us. I also want to say, I lost all respect for RC for driving a truck. Its not a sport. I drive everyday. When James mentioned driving a car, I instantly disliked him on facebook.

I think the Europe names, MX1 and MX2, are even better than SX/MX and Lites. They even have MX3 there, but they should get rid of that. So, I'm looking forward to switching back and forth between the Blackhawks and Bulls tonight. Both on at the same time. Add in a little (okay, alot) pizza and beer and the next thing I'll know it'll be Sunday morning and time to watch MX1 on the tube. I know, I know, DLP's don't have tubes.

I cannot watch the race Sunday on CBS, because of NFL or the repeat on SPEED because of some NASCAR crap.

Everyone is saying "no live stream" I was under the impression Racer X would stream the race tonight??

Anyone know where to stream it if that's the case? Thanks!

tompound, you know absolutely nothing about contracts between providers like DISH, DireTV, Cable, etc. and the networks they broadcast like Newscorp (owners of Fox networks, etc) Cable/Satellite providers pay millions of dollars each year to broadcast these networks to you, while always trying to negotiate the lowest prices. Commercials that run on FOX, ESPN, Discovery Channel etc. are profiting the network, not the provider. So before you bash the providers know what you are talking about. problem is that everyone wants everything for free these days. RacerX provides a free website, a good one at that, and then people bash them for not airing the race, for free no less, when they are not even the ones filming it. Must be another democrat against capitalism.

On another note I think we should have just went to the MX1 and MX2 names, much better than "supercross" and "Lites" classes. I told my friends if they ever hear me call it the lites class to punch me in the nuts.

suzuki, you lost all respect for RC becasue he decided to try to race one of the most popular car series int he world? I am not a Nascar fan but that has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.

MrBones22 wrote: 10:04pm January 21, 2012

I agree with the couple guys who said we should just adopt the FIM classnames MX1 / MX2. That way whatever happens with bike displacement or rules the name doesn't have to change and is recognizable worldwide.

Also, i think that Speed just needs to offer an online streaming package for the series. I'd gladly pay $20 or $30 for a season pass to watch the races live online. I don't have cable anymore and the only reason I wish I still had it was for SX / MX, and F1 (I just download the BBC broadcasts which I prefer anyhoo..)

@MX BOB - I also do a media blackout of all MX related sights, and FB to make sure I don't accidentally find out who won before I can watch.

@Motorhead:

First off Motorhead, your mom is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Second- If you think Crapcar is cool, extreme, inspiring, popular, or something you want to try; you in fact my friend are now certify as lame. Crapcar is only popular because people have a sick desire to see people crash at high rates of speed. Yes, I lost repsect for RC because he knew he would not be able to compete with RV, RD, James and Reed much longer. He got out before he started losing. He saw the talent coming up and bailed.
Lets look at Nick Wey. He promotes such a strong self worth by providing this sport with a morality that is not only honorable but a solid example of good character. RC will never have the joy, laughter and positive like like #27 has. Like I said, I drive everyday and RC stepped backwards. But hey look on the bright side: We pay teachers and firefighters dirt but yet crapdrivers are paid millions.... how stupid is our culture... Look I'm just saying. Nothing will ever make since nor will it ever be logical.

Motohead279 wrote: 2:26pm January 22, 2012

Suzuki, first off learn to spell. You probably also pronounce the MX series as "motorcross". 2nd, your comments pretty much sum up your maturity level, "your mom is the dumbest thing I have ever heard". That made a lot of sense. Good job on that one. How old are you, 12?

Also where did I write I like Nascar? In fact I can't stand it, I think its one of the most boring forms of racing there is, but the fact is its one of the most popular, and one of the highest level in auto racinf, as is F1, MotoGP, and the US SX/MX series. For you to degrade someone for trying to excel at another form of racing is idiotic. I am sure your job mopping the floors at Walmart are much more gratifying. See, we can both make dumb comments.

And another "dumb" comment is you saying RC quit when everyone was catching up. Yesssirrrr.... he was washed up alright. Raced 5 or 6 Nationals his last year on an abbreviated schedule, spliiting his time car racing, and still won every race. Yup... you're correct, he was washed up alright. And how much do you think RV, JS and CR make each year with sponsors, bonuses, etc? Reed is one of the highest paid atheletes in Australia, reported 5+ million per year. You going to bash him for what he makes compared to a firefighter, police officer, or military member too? Fernando Alonso in F1 made a base salary of 22 milion last year, not including bonuses. It's how professional sports work. Do I agree, no, but it's how it is. Why single out Nascar.

I'd really love to hear more of your educated insight.
