Acerbis Riders Dominate at Phoenix SX
Acerbis rider Ryan Dungey had a very memorable night In Phoenix, earning not only his first win of the 2012 season, but KTM’s first win in the premier Supercross class! Acerbis is excited to offer our congratulations on this milestone to our friends at KTM, and we are proud to be a part of it!
Acerbis’ Jake Weimer continues to impress this season! After earning a career-best 5th place finish at Anaheim 1 a week ago, Weimer came out and won his heat race. With this boost of confidence, Weimer, rocketed out of the gate and rode to a solid 2nd place finish in Phoenix. This put both factory Kawasaki 450s on the box, and this is something we would like to continue to see this season. Keep up the good work Jake!
Ryan Villopoto rode his Acerbis-backed KX450 to a hard fought 3rd place finish in Phoenix. After getting caught in a pile up at the beginning of the race, Villopoto put his head down and charged back up to the front. Villopoto was clearly the fastest man on the track, going from dead last to 3rd by the end of the race! Way to go Ryan!
In the Lites class, Acerbis rider Marvin Musquin piloted his KTM 250SX-F to a strong 2nd place finish in Phoenix. Marvin rode a great race, showing that he has what it takes to run up front this season. In his first full Supercross season, Marvin has been steadily improving, and we look forward to seeing him at the top of the box soon!
