WOW...that start is going to be INSANE!!!! I am betting there is a lot of sand in that start straight/loop.....Overall track layout looks different from years past...so should be interesting....

sweet that start will be nuts, 2 whoop sections, couple of diffrent line choices, jumps around corners. There is going to be some carnage!

Track looks junk to me, do they want actual racing to take place? One lined non passing track..Pfft.

Awesome one line track good way to make it look like the racing is tighter....either way I'm still looking forward to it ........btw midnight eastern time friday/ saturday morn 5 hours of sx from last year on speed

I like that left hand sweeper after the start around the position pole. Should be good.

Profile Picture
Acejas wrote: 12:32pm January 4, 2012

I'm predicting a high speed pile up at the start like no other on that straight. Other than that, the loop will be freakin sweat if the riders are able to do some tail out dirt track action!

NICE!!! The HIP jump and the dragons back is nice.

Profile Picture
Whoops_Blitzer wrote: 12:57pm January 4, 2012

@acejas - I don't think it's supposed to be high speed---the 2-D track map says "rough outdoor section" around the loop. Bummer, huh?

Profile Picture
endoman38 wrote: 1:13pm January 4, 2012

Acejas, I think you're right, gonna be pile-up city in that left hand bend. Finish lane comes pretty quick after the start. So, this is gonna be a 19 1/4 lap race?

Wish they would put up a HD wallpaper like they did in the past so I can put this on my desktop to look at!

Profile Picture
KilloMoto wrote: 1:37pm January 4, 2012

the longer straight/ loop could also serve as a great place to make up for a bad jump....

Sure, Alessi will be first to turn one via holeshot, but be in 12th by the time they exit that start loop on the first lap......

All the guys complaining of one line , what are you basing it on? a digital red arrow trans-versing the 2 dimensional 'dirt'....I have a feeling the New Sheriff , Havoc7and the 'drova' will do some passing... I think the start looks safer than it has been so the whole thing doesn't end in a pile every start and the flat track corner is very cool ,something different .4 days.... alot of laps and practice..just hope 250itis doesn't hit. @mx-phreek what the he*l is 'pfft' ..you farting and belching at the same time? Let the festivity's begin....

Profile Picture
KilloMoto wrote: 3:56pm January 4, 2012

@ismael - How do you figure that?....That has to be the silliest comment I have ever heard...And I like both those guys.. Usually these guys practice on tracks much more techinical than what they face on race day.....if its an easy track for one, they all pretty much feel the same......

Profile Picture
groundy056 wrote: 4:06pm January 4, 2012

They always make the tracks tame in the first rounds than get harder and harder. That being said I think the tracks last year were a little to short and not as technical as years past.

Also the first turn should be interesting. very fast

Profile Picture
mxguy94 wrote: 4:58pm January 4, 2012

that looks cool. a few too many turns and not enough speed, imo, but the speed sections will show up later in the series. good job bringing back some fun obsticles like the "old days" cant wait to see what happens!!!!!! too me it looks like if RV or JS holeshots they will win big( that might be the same at any track) they are just plain faster than the others and also willing to hang it out more than the competition. i always want RV to win but i say JS, RV, CR

Profile Picture
wrote: 5:33pm January 4, 2012

JS will be fast but he hasn't raced since may, can he win? he will be fast no question about it, but can he settle for podium or will he wreck himself trying to win?. I bet Trey shows up (man's up) and gets top ten keeping himself in the champ hunt for 2012.

Profile Picture

Track does look fun. like the sweeping left. and the two single humps back to back right before the woops. cant' wait.

I think that giant sweeping turn off the start really favors RV. He had that Kawi working really well for the last half of outdoors and this A1 start has a MX feel to it.

@GWN haha thats what i was thinking! Track looks okay, not sure about the outdoor section and that weird hip jump, also could get one lined, but well just have to go racing!

retired-promxer wrote: 10:33pm January 4, 2012

It's about time they came up with a creative track design and moved the start out of the middle of the track. Maybe we will see 50+sec lap time instead of 40+ sec lap times. I agree with moto314, it's not one lined, it's supercross, only so much room. Is it just me, but look close at this track, it has Bubba written all over it!

Probably the most innovative track at A1 since the split start a couple years ago.

@tonewall >> I know Stewart is your buddy and all but by renaming him Havoc7 and calling him "The New Sherriff" sounds pretty ignorant since he:

1. Did not win the title last year.
2. Has not raced since May skipping all of the outdoors.
3. Is not on a factory bike (close but still not factory)
4. He was beat straight up last year (yes crashes count!)

The only Havoc 7 creates is

1. When he poses as a police officer (committing a felony).
2. Pulls onto the track on the downside of a finish line jump and has a rider land on him.
3. Forgets that there are other riders on the track and hit another rider in the back in mid air.
4. Forgets that is front forks aren't compressing enough to change the steering angle to make the corner, washing out the front end and taking out other riders.
5.Cartwheels his bike through the whoops so that other riders can't win either.

I could go on but this is just too easy and too long already.

GO EVERYONE BUT BUBBA!!!!

(lets see how long it is before I am called a racist....this should be good)......

The new sheriff is what I call RV1. All us 'ignorant' folks know that ,oh except you. Stewart is not my buddy . I think he is fast. I like how he rides. I will call him Havoc7 cause I like it. I have been a big Villapoto 'the new sheriff'...get it...fan since 07. I don't dislike any riders. You did'nt hear me hating anyone, yet. See someone about that JS7 bug up your a*s . Its to early for this crap they haven't even hit the track. You are the first major JS7 hater so far, you won't be the last. Doesn't bother me in the least.

Profile Picture
haydugjr wrote: 3:41pm January 5, 2012

I figured you called Stewart the new sheriff since he went and got in trouble for having cop lights.

I've ridden this track in MXS and I have to say, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of passing options, besides a huge Stewart triple I have spied in *the* rhythm section.

Profile Picture
Redneckrider wrote: 8:17pm January 5, 2012

@Tonewall, never heard anyone refer to RV as a Sheriff, old or new. I went back and re read your post and I believe I misinterpreted your meaning. I thought you were calling Stewie the New Sheriff, as well are referring to him as Havoc7 My mistake and thanks for the clarification.

I am not really a JS7 hater as much I believe we all need to be responsible for our own actions, and Stewie pulls some really dumb crap sometimes, and his judgement has been questionable at best in many instances.

What I am a hater of, however, is his die hard defenders that think he can do no wrong and will go to the ends of the earth to defend him, regardless of how he behaves on or off the track. I have a really good time getting those idiots fired up because it is so easy.

I am not a fan of any one particular rider over another. I love moto and love great racing. It doesn't matter to me which brand wins, or which rider. Whoever wins is always the baddest dude that day. Period.

@haydgjr >>>> RE your 'new sheriff' comment >>>>> Now that was funny!!!

Is it Saturday yet?

You're not a racist "redneckrider", you are just an idiot!! You say you are not a fan of any particular rider...hmm...ok, but you are clearly able to state who you don't like!! If Stewart happens to win on saturday, i want to see you on here actually calling him the "baddest dude that day".......deal??

Profile Picture
tonewall wrote: 10:54pm January 5, 2012

@Redneck ...its not my job to police JS7's off track actions . Thats his and the authority's. I personally could care less what he does off track as long as it doesn't involve murder , or my family as he is not the only person who has ever broken the law. I have defended him when haters call him a has been or an evil person because I don't believe he is either .As to his ON track actions ,sometimes he makes questionable choices and bad mistakes , but at that speed ...stuff happens. Thats also part of racing. You want to watch danger and crashing ...watch a 250 beginners class...lol I have lined up more than 30 years, from novice to pro, and there where some seriously dangerous folks out there ,at times me being one. But I never singled any one out or held a grudge. Just my opinion to which, just like you I am entitled. I'm sure if Havoc7 wins you will give him due credit....yeah , right.

Profile Picture
Redneckrider wrote: 4:02pm January 6, 2012

@REF-man ... I am not a fan of any particular rider, that doesn't in any way mean I cannot have an opinion on a rider, a bike or a sponsor. Just like with music, politics, or religion etc.. I can have an opinion about a song, doesn't make me a fan of the band. I have an opinion about James based on my observations since he came onto the scene around 2003. I have watched him many, many times and and even been on the same track with him numerous times. I always been impressed with what he can do on a bike. How can you not be? The guy is incredible.

If he wins, I will absolutely say he was "the baddest dude that day". I really do believe in giving credit where credit is due....good and bad. James has earned a ton of great credit for his heroic rides. Unfortunately, he has also earned a ton of bad credit for his antics on and off the track. Throwing Reeds bike down in the pits, the impersonating a cop deal, etc...Just like Michael Vick with his dog fighting issue. NOT COOL. No matter how good he is on the field, his off field antics show his true personality and overshadow what was great about his ability.

That is my opinion. I choose to not endorse people with idiotic behavior, whether it is Jason Lawrence, Josh Hill, Mike Alessi, or Michael Vick I think if you are being paid to be a professional, you should act like one at all times.

@tonewall - I don't believe James to be an evil person at all. Just a very, very well paid person that makes really stupid choices from time to time. I have made plenty of stupid choices in my life and am by no means perfect. I understand that racing at that speed stuff happens and all of these guys are pushing sooo hard that things will go awry sometimes. My issue is with the constant bad decisions that have cost other riders dearly, and the way James has dealt with them after the fact, in addition to his off track issues.

I choose not to give people a pass on their character just because they entertain me. Stewart, Vick, Cobe Bryant, or Michael Jackson are all entertaining as hell. But their character makes me not want to support them, no matter how bad ass they are. If Stewart wins, or at least puts in a great showing and a good battle, I will always give him props. However, if he takes out another rider by riding over his head, or making a really stupid choice and taking another rider out, I will bash him again because the pattern has already been set. Not by me, but by his actions. I would really rather not have to say anything about him. If he rode clean like McGrath, K-Dub, RV, or any other champion, I could only bash him for his stupid TV show and impersonating a cop....which is a felony for good reason.

I have also lined up on the gate for about 20 years now. I never got to a pro but I was an intermediate, which is at least close to being a pro. I could not agree more about the 250 beginner class. The 125cc beginner class back in the day was even scarier because the two strokes were much more squirrelly that the 250Fs.

No one in the field has won or lost a SX race this year. No rider has been forced to race, or sit out. Everyone able and willing will be at the gate. These are the best SX racers in the world.

I encourage all fans to be in the moment. Pray for high-level competition, high-value entertainment, and good health at the end of Saturday night for everyone on the track.

Bring somebody new to the track with you or sit them in front of the TV at home. Someone that has never watched a LIVE Supercross before tonight.

Root for your favorite SX riders and SX teams.
But remember...On Saturday night there will only be One Winner.

This season there will only be One Champion.

WAR IS HELL.
