Racer X Ride Day at Southwick Postponed

With respect to the weekend travel advisory for all of New England, as well as the expected high winds and rain on Sunday due to Hurricane Irene, we regret to announce that the Racer X Ride Day at Southwick Moto-X 338 is postponed until further notice. This has no effect on the 10th round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships, which will take place according to schedule tomorrow, August 27, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
“We were all very excited to ride Southwick and enjoy an afternoon with our readers and friends in the industry, but with the threat of this hurricane it makes more sense to simply postpone the ride day and give everyone a chance to change their schedules,” said Racer X's Davey Coombs. “We had some fun things planned but that can wait. Letting everyone get back home after Saturday's AMA Motocross National is the bigger priority. We don't know how bad the weather will actually be, but this is a case of better safe than sorry.
“Right now it's beautiful and sunny in the Southwick area, and hopefully will remain that way until well after the completion of tomorrow's race, but Sunday is looking very wet and windy,” added DC. “We will get with Ralph and Dianne at Southwick and find another date as soon as possible. We regret any inconveniences this may cause.”
Tomorrow's Southwick National round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships will take place on schedule, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The first motos will air live on FUEL TV as well as stream live on www.allisports.com. The second motos from Southwick will air on SPEED on Saturday evening beginning at 9:00 p.m. with the 450 Class, followed immediately by the 250 Class at 10:00 p.m.

I bet the national gets canceled for this same reason
Lets just hope the Hurricane becomes a Slowacane and the National's are able to make it through the day! To be safe though!
bummer, better go out and unload and see if I can knock a day off the hotel's reservation!
If the hurricane cancels the race I will be pissed, we already have had over a month of time off this summer, it sucks. The schedule was terrible this year. A two week break, then one race and another break, now this. this absolutely sucks. MX Sports schedule totally sucked this summer.
I would've had missed the ride day anyways, since I have to work this Sunday. Maybe I can make the rescheduled one. Fingers crossed.
Weather Report says thunder storms and rain tomorrow and heavy rain tomorrow night. Could be a great race in the wet sand. Who would be the best wet concrete racer in the national tour?????
I hope the track doesn't lose money because of weather again. They lost a couple years ago because of a hurricane. Sucks having the National during hurricane season!
