HOLESHOT! Went to Dilla and it was great as always. Villopoto might win every overall on the way out. I hope Reed can bring it again in supercross. Not suprized at all with Barcias speed but very suprized with stamina. Didnt think he could keep the pace all moto, certainly not both motos. consistancy watch now.Who tried to qualify on the 2 stroke? Baggett is awesome, never stops charging with blazing speed, but, is on the ground alot. Our MXoN team is so fast all they need to do is stay up! But thats why we race, you just never know. Kick Butt Team USA.
Saw that guy on the YZ 2 Stroke. Guess he did not qualify. Awesome racing all day. RV2 was crushing it--everywhere. Cant wait for Southwick. Barcia should do well there too. What did he do to RD1 to piss him off??
Dang, two Kevin Windhams in the 450 points (193 pts each). He's not even racing and he's only 5 points from the leader with 386 points! ;)
Bummer that Dowdy didn't qualify. Get 'em at Southwick!
Hey, RacerX! Team USA took the bronze at the ISDE (behind host Finland and Spain). Doesn't that rate a mention in the Wake-Up Call?
One the one hand I'm happy to see the two Americans step towards the 450 Title but, I'm a little bummed to see Reed's disapointing (?) 4-5 day. I kind of hoped he would bounce back and make this title run one for the ages.
Was mounting Villopoto & Weimer on '12's a mental advantage or are the bikes that much better?
Maybe an overall out of Barcia before this season wraps up?
Bogle overdelivers on inagural appearance. PC's worst nightmare before Roczen's debut?
I'm not sure how to feel about Barcia's performance. While 3-3 is great, is finishing ahead of Reed in Honda's best interest? I'd bet they wouldn't mind wrapping up this championship, as it's been a while for them in 450. It just seems a little odd considering.......
I was wrong last week....Although I thought Barcia may grab some holeshots and run up front for a bit...I definetly didnt see him running 3-3....so good ride for Barcia. Barcia rode great both motos....Dungey didnt have enough in the tank to pass Barcia.....So Bam Bam made ONE mistake while they were passing 3 or for lappers on the last lap and cut over a bit....BIG DEAL.....I recall watching Dungey almost ride straight into the track side banners in moto 1 when RV blitzed past him on the outside and Dungey appeared to quite suprised....Barcia may be a rookie in the 450, but he knows what he is doing...he is the "wild child" and Dungey knows that...so why you surprised Dungey?...Dont tell the kid he needs to learn "RESPECT"....I like Dungey, but that Reed like whining he pulled was nonsense.....Dungey should learn to respect the fact that the yong kids are not going to roll over and let the defending champ by.....especially when the champ cant catch them......RV was gone....RD was frustrated......JB did great and CR appears to be out of it.....Good to see Weimer and Metty step it up a bit.....
Not that I hope that it continues, but RD is making a mistake calling out Barcia like that and starting drama on the track while he is racing for a title... So he wants Bam Bam to be messing with his head on the track the next 3 races???...Even on the live NBC interview Barcia made a comment about Dungey having "sore feelings" and was basically like " whatever dude".....Barcia apologized to Dungey on the podium from what I hear and Dungey just turned his head and made a dumb commnent about "Respect" .... Meanwhile, RV is sitting there smiling thinking " wow...glad I am not involved in this"....Man up Dungey....Barcia was in ihs debut 450 race and the defending champ was behind him the entire race.....little bobble that put JB on the ground....but Dungey shouldnt have been there in the first place....or should he???
RV KILLED IT
Which bike is taddy b. Riding now?
Enough about Barcia and Dungey!!...Great performance and damb good Birthday for RV2...Also, great to see Wilson get that overall monkey off his back in a dominant 1-1 performance just like RV..Many have been waiting for this 1-1 effort from RV and he did it easily passing 4 or 5 guys each moto including Dungey... RV looked healthier than he has all year, he looked great on the bike and the bike looked great on the track...The comment was made last week that Unadilla would be an important "make a statement" race....and it was via RV !!! Southwick should be awesome....not sure of RV's past performances there, but I dont think its going to matter...RV is now in that zone many were waiting for and what many feared....
I think RV is good at stepping it up when it matters, like Salt Lake City Supercross he was getting 2nds and 3rd's before it but he knew if he could just win Salt Lake he had a good chance at taking the championship...and he did. Not sure if Unadilla is the race that ''matters'' but I can't see how it can make it worse.
To all mostly good comments @ Carsbad yu said what I was gonna say @ Trend killer you said some good stuff. About Reed I dont think a one of use can put him down he is a Man and doing what we all would have liked to do at 28? of age.I am proud of him. Hey ive had many of people slow me down by playing fullback it the name of the game and it messes with your rythym. The moral of the story is and ive not done it either at time is to relax and then take them safe at the right time.Hwy what do I know I raced on that video game once?? lol.... if you can do it on the vid it must be easy?
Its like Barcia isnt supposed to be racing. Get over it Dungey and get past him, its what RV did. RV was killing it on the new ride. He has a huge amount of confidence now. Not what the others want.
I've always said whoever wins Unadilla goes on to win the championship. Dean wilson got this one on the baf and more likely RV is gonna walk away with this one.
Oh by the way Reedy is done. He needed atleast a win at Unadilla to keeep his hopes alive. He was killin it b4 the crash
If there is one good point to comment on, I am going with the thought about Barcia stamina. I too didn't think he could hold it together for 2 moto's. I feel that this has to be Barcia's best race outdoors ever. I kept wondering why he didn't ride the 250's like that. Oh well, some much for my other thought about Barcia being JS7's
fill in rider! RV on that turbocharged 2020 Kaw was flying. Does that thing come with wings?
I feel I am going out on a limb on this thought, I believe it was Daytona 2009, when JLaw moved over and let Reed by. That was a class act! Barcia who rode great, didn't have to hold Dungey up. It's hard to believe that JLaw has more class than Bam Bam. Otherwise Dungey is going to have to find a way to pull the trigger sooner. Those two did put on a good show.
Great ride TOMAC !!!, Awesome ride JB !!!, Great ride Bogle !!!
REED is not done, he will get his mojo back. RD if you don't whine any more I'll let you off this time, you are a good guy and I know it's frustrating to need to win and can't, go for it next week !
Anybody know what the 450 class will look like next year ? the racing seems to be getting better!
The track was NOT one lined sat, did you guys see the lines RV used ? RD tried them but simply didn't have the speed to make it work. I thought the track was great !
Jlaw "pulled over" before he got "run over". He even admitted he didn't have anything for reed at that point, which I guess was a class move after all. Good point CZmark.
Barcia will win the overall at Southwick! That is my bold prediction. I think Dungey is going to have to learn to respect Barcia...
Funny....who the F brings up J-Law., what a joke!!!.. That dude had a big lead at Daytona after cutting the track if I recall....In any event, he was lucky to be there and he was exhausted....He let Reed by because he couldt ride anymore.....not out of respect......just a smart move on his part...nothing to do with respect or class....
Why do people say Barcia held Dungey up.....1st moto Dungey was able to pass him because he was close enough to do so....2nd moto, every time Dungey caught up to barcia he either screwed up or followed lappers.... If anything, Dungey got held up by lappers, not Barcia.....I watched the 2nd moto again and Dungey made some pretty bad decisions when they caught the lappers....hence his frustration he took out on Barcia...but Dungey should look in the mirror..he made his own bed at Dilla....
czmark J-flaw moved over because he was spent!!Not for any other reason.
.david langford Unless RV and Rd both have a VERY bad moto Reed is out of it IMO. He is a whole moto behind and he sounds like his head aint right. 6 moto's left thats a lot of points to make up. Reed LOVES Southwick so if there is any chance left he must have a 1-1.
.I agree about the Dilla too, There were MANY places to pass, much better than some tracks this year. RD was IMO faster then JB just could not get by. JB LOVES Southwick too so with starts this could be a GREAT race. I think RV is feeling it now but without good starts it will be hard for any of them.
@Rick Melon, I agree 100%, RD made some pretty bad decisions with lappers. I saw a few that i was like what the H is he doing!! I think he was frustrated and made some bad decisions. Man I can't wait for the wick, Think i am going to get there real early!! It could be epic!!! Or RV could go 1-1 and then its pretty much over...Hell there are 4 guys that could go 1-1!!
I think RV didn't get trapped behind JB because RV would have put him on the deck and not looked back. Not saying RV is a dirty rider but he is more willing to get rough. As far as the 2012. RV looked confident like Reed did in his first race on the factory Honda. I think RD has the speed and fitness but he has to get agressive. He should get some pointers from Shorty.
Great to see Mickey Kessler's son Dakota running at Unadilla [got 35th for the day with a 30-32 score].
FYI, Mickey won the 500cc support class at the 1986 Unadilla USGP at the age of 31.
Reasonable comments & realistic criticisms are one thing but anyone who has ever raced (Pro or Amateur) has a good laugh each week when all you 'experts' start slinging your sh!t about these riders. You're nothin' but a buncha' goons.
So KG you somehow know everyones Moto credentials??? Going by your standards I guess I have free rain to say what i want..Thank you.
You don't read between the lines very well BillC, do ya?
No, I don't know everyones' Moto credentials.
It's just easy to pick out the squids.
You should know what I'm talking about...
The idiotic b!tch-sl@pping comments?! They're a dead giveaway...
Those who have been there and done it know better than to spew such cr@p.
KG.. LOL Gotcha. :-)
While I'm still for an American winning an American title (go RD), I don't think Reed is "out of it" just quite yet. With Barcia entering the class with podium speed, there is one great "wing man" to snatch some points from "the Ryans". Why he didn't do just that, or some version of it, I'll forever wonder . It's not like we don't all know corporate runs the show and letting Broc bye isn't just an old saying.........I could give a hundered scenarios where Chad Reed takes the title but, I'm just as interested as the next guy as to how it's all going to play out. Definitely one of the better years for 250 / 450 class racing.
Carlsbad I am sure JB was told if Reed is near get out of the WAY!! But Reed was almost a min behind!! I am sure they never expected it to go down like that but JB was on it and Reed was way off that day. I hope reed gets it back but he sure sounded like a beaten man before moto 2.
