Ryan Dungey got his long overdue first overall of the season, while the Pro Circuit team continued to be a step above the rest.  But you will read plenty about the racing throughout the week, so let's get to the lap charts, brought to you by Motion Pro.

Monster Energy Kawasakis Ryan Villopoto continued to show his first moto dominance. Blasting the field en route to his third consecutive moto one victory, Villopoto also set the fastest lap of the moto with a blistering 2:10.044 a little over two full seconds faster than Ryan Dungey's best lap.

Dungey and Villopoto not only swapped moto victories but they also traded the top spot on the lap charts. Dungey, en route to his first overall win of the season, would set the fastest time in moto two with a 2:12.250 on lap 6.

Monter Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett continued his up and down season at Thunder Valley. Baggett has dominated three of five races thus far in the season (Hangtown, High Point, and Thunder Valley) only to follow up with sub-par efforts a week later (Freestone and Budds Creek). Will the trend continue next week at RedBud? Only time will tell, but in the meantime we can't fail to mention that he set the fastest laps in both motos at Thunder Valley.

No longer referred to as the other South African, Star Racing's Gareth Swanepoel continues to improve as the races tick off in his first full season on the American circuit. After finishing an impressive sixth in moto one, Swanepoel would fall early on in moto two before rebounding to grab 21st overall. But if proof is what you seek, just give his lap times a look and you will see that Swanepoel is slowly starting to adjust to the pace and may be a podium threat sooner rather than later.

And finally, check out the WMX lap charts below. JP$ may still be digging out of a points hole after a crash at Freestone, but with moto wins and lap times like she logged in Colorado, she may be fighting for that red plate again before long.

Moto 2 things were pretty close between the Dunge and RV.....Dungey got that little bit of breathing room he needed after passing Reed and once RV got past Reed, they pretty much took turns playing " cat n mouse"......on to Red Bud !!!

why do we have to watch the WMX at the nationals? its like watching C class riders, boring....

Yamaha35. Im sure 90% of the WMX could beat you. If you dont like it dont watch it. They dont cause any interuptions in the show. They ride basically at intermission of the 250s and 450s then at the end of the day. So STFU

They don't even show wmx on tv so why are you complaining? With that attitude towards women and their sports it's no wonder why you can't get a girlfriend. I think they should show more of the wmx just to piss off haters such as yourself.

RV gets stronger every week, Soon we might see both moto's look like the first one. DAMN 2 sec faster than RD!! WOW that is laying it down!!

Them women have come a LOOOOOONG way from when I first saw a pro race at Steel City about 10 years ago. Most of them weren't even doubling anything on the track. Now they do pretty much everything the guys do. I am a VET B rider and I know my lap times wouldn't be within 20 seconds of Dungey or Villopoto.

Shorty very close to 5th best time on his little 350, Hmmm and so many said it would get killed at the mile high track.

RED Buuud. Im going fo sho. I wanna see how Bagget runs away with it. My money is on Chad Reed and Tyla rattray. Tyla kills it at red bud. He set fastest lap last yr and almost got overall but fell.

The top women were amazing. 2:30 - 2:40 laps and they had the worst track conditions and some monster ruts. The top women were making the step up on the north side and a few other big jumps. Most average riders would have been swallowed up in the ruts and the conditions. Hats off to them!

Look at the average lap times, though. That 2:10 Villopoto threw down isn't sustainable, and requires everything to fall into place perfectly. He needs to find a little more for the second motos.

Hey everyone, lets say JAMES STEWART just so Jairtime will start bubbling over with the Bubba love he has!! Man this guy is REALLY in love with James Stewart, It's almost Frightening how in love JAIRTIME is with James Stewart...If it wasn't for James Stewart Jairtime would have no life at all and no one to talk about. Come out and play Jairtime or are you too busy shavin the old carrott watching old races of James Stewart?

Mr BillC between every race you proclaim RV to go out and masacar(sic) RD and CR but every week its anybodys race.( anybody if you are RD RV or CR) RV is awsome but RD proved this weekend that no one rider is going to dominate. TC comming back is going to be good because he has proven he be beat all three. Im not trying to put you down, I'll save that for when RV crashes trying to catch RD.

Profile Picture
BUBBA#1 wrote: 12:44pm June 28, 2011

The guy has a perfect season, last one to win on a 125.etc..... The reason that Mr Jairtime sticks up for James is because of guys like you who take every chance to put the guy down. But remember RC on a Honda? People just like u hated RC for no reason. All supercross season the story was who could run with James. Ya I know he didn't win the sx title or even think about MX but thats what McGrath and Reed have done and K-DUB was going to do the same. I can't even say that JS7 is my favorite rider but come on If you don't feel he is the best then your on airplane glue.

Profile Picture
BillC wrote: 12:45pm June 28, 2011

@Anon, No its not but that burst speed is why RV can pass guys fast and not get stuck behind guys for 25 mins like RD does sometimes. RV passed Reed, Craig and RD in about 1 1/2 laps and was gone by the time RD got into 2nd. Also his average was 1/2 sec faster witch is a lot...

.@Whybillc I do not proclaim that every week, In fact I picked RD to win in TX sooooo. Either way it my opion that RV will win this title, You may feel dif I don't mind. I see RV getting better every week and just feel we may soon see him back up his first motos. You have to admit his first motos have been pretty good and a step above the other guys. You my want to see RV fall but I am still waiting for RD to pass RV, He has not yet. He can win if he starts in front of him but can he pass him??

Profile Picture
VilloMoto wrote: 12:46pm June 28, 2011

Moto 1 - RV was the man, again.... He passed a few dudes and pulled away quick, dropped that 2:10 and a couple more 2:11's and was out!! He and RD had tipovers and still throttled the 22....Reed - a victory lap for getting the fastest practice lap.....wow......think he got a little full of himself on that one.....

Moto 2 - Dungey was the man - He passed Reed when Reed goofed, pulled a little gap and then it was RV's turn to pass Reed. By that time, RD had a nice cushion and since their (RV/RD) lap times were almost identical, not much RV could do to catch him unless RD made mistake.....Definetly RV's strongest moto 2 finish.....and he stated the same so, more to come I think....but awesome racing.....I'd rather see RD win than Reed....and that pass RD made in moto 1 on Reed was awesome.....Reed had nothing....

BUBBA#1 my point exactly, Jaitime doesn't stick up for James, he finds someway to bag on him in every article and I mean EVERY article even when JS7 is not even mentioned. RC has went on record many of times saying that Wins/losses/Championships don't matter because James Stewart is the FASTEST man to ever throw a leg over a dirtbike. I'm surely not gonna argue with the G.O.A.T. but some of you on here feel you have the right to.

Good points BillC this season is a great for the simple fact that we have three contenters to cheer for. (and dish out online insults) You are right About RD not passing RV but like alot of people I don't think RD is as close to edge as RV but then again RC looked over the edge his whole career.

Yes, the fans didn't like carmichael for any reason but there are a lot of reasons why fans don't like stewart. Dirty rider, just in it for money and only ride's SX because his bike isn't ready. Dude carmichael would have rode a 125 if he had to, stewart just wants $$$$$$.

Jeez carlsbad. Looked like your boy barcia didn't do too well in colorado. U gonna argue w/ that? why do keyboard racers all think just because a rider is coming back from injury that their gonna be winning races. U really think Trey canard is gonna be pushing it in MX, hell no. He's prolly just gonna get his stuff together for SX next year. I was kinda urked to see Josh grant riding 4 months off and ACL surgery (while i'm 6 months off mine and can barely ride a bicycle). I was wondering what the hell honda was trying to do to him, now he's out another year. The crash was alessi's fault and the recent injury i'd say was from him not taking enough time off. Your body has to heal. as for Tony alessi. are u happy punk? I'm having fun watching your b!tcch @$$ son gettin smoked . believe the hype

Must be some good Glue i've been sniffing, maybe eating paint chips too because how can u be the best/fastest when u cant finish a race. Dayam, james is too scared to even show up because he knows he'll get smoked. enough of that iiissshhhhh already.
BILLC_____________ what has shorty done all year (besides get paid)??? U really think he's gonna win something. He's slow (and cant holeshot anymore, which was the only chance he had). He'll be a privateer next year, he doesn't disereve a factory ride. he hasn't done anything special and if he were to holeshot. He'd be in fifth after one lap

Sorry BILLC. thought you were one of those die hard 350 guys thinking something like "He was 100cc's down and still ran top 5". sorry bout that bud. I think we can both agree that the 350 is killing his career. He wont be able to get a ride after this season. Had he switched to a 450 like lawndart alessi he'd at least have a shot at those alessi/shorty holeshots. Holeshots equal Television time for sponsors. Alessi holeshots and finishes 5th or 6th which sucks, but shorty starts around 10th and finishes pretty much where he started. I'm glad Reed has the points lead because Dungey and Poto will slowly be reeling in those points every weekend. the two ryans just flat out fly and will definataly leave Reed in a distant 3rd. good question??? Why did honda have Grant riding nationals 4 months off an ACL surgery. I'm almost 7 months off mine and i can barely jog, let alone ride national tracks. Honda obviously doesn't give a rats @$$ about Josh now that they have the 22 bike w/ a decent points gap. Grant should have been Re'habbing for another 2 months, than take it slow. I couldn't believe he was in 5th, like whoa

I didn't look at the lap charts, but I was there and in moto1 the last several laps RD was gaining on RV, not that it mattered at that point, unless RV was to go down again. Dungey had Villopotos # all day, unfortunately for him he fell while trying to get around Reed (the first try)

BillC, enough with the comparisons of Villopoto to Carmichael and Stewart. There is no comparison, he's never been as dominant as they were and he never will be. They didn't have "burst speed" (which sounds dumber each time you post it, by the way), they just had speed. No bursts needed, they could maintain their fastest laps for half the race.

Keepinitreal doesn't know what reality is. RC said James was the fastest - a LONG time ago. Stewart is NO LONGER THE FASTEST MAN ON THE PLANET, so STFU and get off his nuts. The kids coming up will be faster than JS, RV, RD, etc... every generation gets faster. And Stewart doesn't race anything but SX anyway, so who cares ? I'll pay attention to him again when the SX season comes around. Right now he's IRRELEVANT.
