You can tell he really wants to be out there. Never been a huge fan of Alessi, but I did meet him one year at the St. Louis SX and it changed my opinion of him for the better. If he ever gets healthy he will do well outdoors. He looked good that year he was riding Suzuki's and won two nationals (not sure what year, think it was '09) Totally smoked them that year at Freestone. His speed was awesome that day. If that early '09 guy ever shows up again, the top guys will have a fight on their hands. Make the right decision Mike. Don't come back to soon. It's not worth it. Hope your luck starts turning around for you. Good Luck Dude!
That is such a wierd crash the way his body position changes it almost looks like he passed out in the air before he crashes ....
Bad move imo-- too soon.
Sprocket, I didn't notice it until you pointed it out, but I agree - it looks like the bike didn't buck him, but rather it's almost as if he threw himself over the bars. Obviously he didn't do that, but still it is a weird crash. The bike never actually went end over end like it usually does in an OTB crash. At any rate, I, too, hope he doesn't rush back before he's fully healed and has all his wits about him.
acually allessi went into the tuck position when he tucks his head and lands on his back. He got a consussion out of the deal. If he would not of did the tuck he could of possibly broke his neck, collorbone, both arms, who knows? pretty smart move i would say. tring to make the best out of a horrible crash.
Ummmmm gl, mike.......red bud sale was alot worse, thats in a couple weeks :)
I know it's not funny but remember when Mike said he was going to ride the 350 cause he was getting hurt on a 450. Then he didn't even make it through practice on the 450 without getting hurt. I'm I the only one who remembers that? lol
We were at Washougal one year and Mike just finished practice and he wanted to talk to the AMA at the gate and my 3 boys were near the fence and waved at him. After he talked to the AMA he turned around and walked over and talked to my boys for a long time.
That shoed us a lot of heart for a rider.
Go Mike! I'll be pulling for ya, hope you're feeling good and can get this season started and build from here.
he did lost the championship in 05' langstong skipped half a turn. he the southafrican had played it right, he would have won that year. since then i hate langston.....
he would have probably been fine if he realized there wasnt a swimming pool underneath him and diving head first into the ground into the ground wasnt the smartest idea. you can see when he tucks it was unnatural and unnecessary, he coulda landed on his feet.
#800 has been through a lot. Drama, injuries, drama, injuries. From what I've seen, he is a dyed in the wool moto guy. Easily a MX title contender. Getting back on the horse that bucked you is what we do. The brand, his sponsors, his career and lastly us, the fans, need him out there. Do well Mike, lots of folks are pulling for the #800.
another rider that hates his bike just like pourcel and stewart !
I was pretty sure that mikey would put himself down in a hurry on that big bike. He is crash or go fast outdoor. He can't seem to even put together one season on a 450 without crashing out.
When I saw him post that fast time in the first practice session, I thought to myself, he is going to crash in the next one. lol At least they knew they were on the right level, they were prepared you know? So just wait another season, get prepared and pull another Mike Alessi. Hype, Hype. Where is his evil twin, oh right the universe took his foot. Nice.
He knew as soon as he left the lip, instant panic rev,. he tucked cuz he knew it was coming..... like him or not, he can ride like the wind and that was a bad wreck.:(...
Good luck Mike
I'm pulling for ya Mikey! Get healthy and get back out front!
Go 800!
Words of wisdom, "if I'm on the gate I'll be out there". I hope it all works out for him, certainly don't want to see another smack in the head for him. The bad thing is that at this point a Mt. Morris blackfly hitting his helmet is going to be another concussion. Be safe Mike, be smart.
Mike is a tuff sumbitch!!!
@kxguy324......Learn your history about that race before saying that..Langston got docked a position for that so Alessi got the moto win even tho it was mike that knocked him off the track in the first place. Then he threw it away by cleaning out Tedesco in that turn then stood on top of his bike trying to hit the kill switch and then his bike wouldn't start and then AMA DQed him that race for that so Langston had nothing to do with Alessi losing it in 05 he lost it himself
when is this kid going to grow up and get rid of his dad ?
his career is wasting away, he will NEVER win a championship
...he has sunk so low as to ride for KTM, how pitiful ??
who in the world would buy a KTM ?
