FIM Decides On Maximum Sound Levels
The Motocross Permanent Bureau, composed of Messrs Vito Ippolito, FIM President and Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream unanimously decided on the maximum sound levels for the FIM MX1, MX2, MX3, Women's and Junior Motocross World Championships, FIM Veteran Motocross World Cup and FIM Motocross of Nations.
New parameters for the precision of the sound measuring method:
- With a class 1 sound meter: + 2dB/A
- With a class 2 sound meter: + 3dB/A
Maximum sound level before the race:
112 dB/A (114 dB/A with a class 1 sound meter) (115 dB/A with a class 2 sound meter)
Maximum sound level after the race:
113 dB/A (115 dB/A with a class 1 sound meter) (116 dB/A with a class 2 sound meter)
The sound testing data of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 will be analysed. The decision concerning the sound levels as of 01.01.2018 will be taken by 31.12.2014 at the latest.
