what happens now? Does stewart go home and put the work in needed to beat dungey or does he film another season of his show?

I think JS got a "yamaha wake-up call" this last wekend. I think he will come around.. I would like to hear why he pulled off the 2nd moto..

Batzmx wrote: 10:29am August 16, 2010

Thats wierd desalle is 2nd place overall in GP and he didnt race in belgium, smart move for factory suzuki, bring a blocker for stewart so dungey could rip it.

mxmofo wrote: 10:40am August 16, 2010

I dont think RD needs a "blocker," he has it pretty well wrapped up, barring a major catastrophie.

dgizzy wrote: 11:03am August 16, 2010

JS was tired when he pulled out, he was already back to 15th. JS is still the fastest man, he did set the fastest on qualifying right? He cant hold on for 30 +2 but he still hast the fastest lapo the crown goes to whoever is quicker and in this case JS?

Profile Picture
kwtriple wrote: 11:23am August 16, 2010

I dont see how anyone can say that JS is the fastest man, getting the fastest single lap means nothing beyond gate pick. JS is will have to beat Dungey straight-up to take the fastest man on the planet title. I thought for sure that JS would beat RD, but the proof is on the track and RD kicked a**. BTW where is yzsesan?

bigjbp712 wrote: 11:27am August 16, 2010

dgizzy-your F-ed by your theroy, we should stop running races and run fastest laps??? Any one of these top guys are capible of running the fastest lap on any giving afternoon, but so far only 1 has been able to keep that pace for 30 min +2, and for yzsean DUNGEY RULES!!!!

Profile Picture
Freeloader wrote: 11:45am August 16, 2010

I believe that Dungey ran the fastest lap of the day in moto 1, a 2:08

RD was smokin but I was happy to see JS-7 back on the saddle. He adds the extra spice to the boring mix so far this year, by the way 3rd on the first moto after 23 months is not that bad..Desalle is impressive and he was only visiting the country. Pretty amazing. Pourcel is a beast and he showed it on that second moto. Canard is now a consistent winner, happy for that. Barcia's pass was not that dirty, Wilson could not hold the line in the root he panics and goes to the fence after loosing control of his bike. Barcia barely touched him, what happened was that Wilson was caught off guard and di not expect the pass. It was a fun race and I can't wait to see the next round at one of my favorite Nationals, Southwick!!!

The scoring of a national does not make sense. what a joke

These Suzuki conspiracies are rich. You Stewart fans are a joke, stop making excuses. He got beat get over it. Dungey is the man to beat and he will keep winning if he keeps the bike on two wheels.

Profile Picture
pinned927 wrote: 4:27pm August 16, 2010

How come nobody knows why stewart pulled off??? He cant handle the fact that he's no longer the fastest, so he goes and hides in the semi. Whiney little girl move... Dungey and desalle must have really gotten under his skin. why can cairilli win on the 350 and not alessi???

Profile Picture
moto0619 wrote: 5:06pm August 16, 2010

Cairoli has access to better parts than Alessi. Plus he is a better rider, one of the fastest, just watch that Belgium GP and see why. The guy is a beast.

Profile Picture
mxmofo wrote: 5:34pm August 16, 2010

I love how JS comes back from an injury, and hasnt race since like Feburary, and hasnt raced a National in almost 2 years, and he still gets ragged on... JJ0211,, I guess I really dont see a lot of poeple on here sticking up for JS... Are you trying to make something up ?

Profile Picture
sef154 wrote: 5:45pm August 16, 2010

DeSalle didn't race in Belgium because it WASN'T a GP! And no, he wasn't there to "block" for anyone (and clearly Dungey didn't need it). Dgizzy, your nonsense never seems to amaze me. The crown goes to whoever is quicker FOR A LAP and in this case it was JS? WHAT?! And to xracemotox994, what is it about the scoring of a national that doesn't make sense? Positions 1-20 earn a set number of points (same as it ever was); points are combined for the two motos and ... voila! ... you have your overall standings! It's not rocket science, and it makes perfect sense. And pinned927, we DO know why Stewart pulled off. It's called exhaustion.

Profile Picture
JJO211 wrote: 6:09pm August 16, 2010

No halsey but it seems like Stewarts fanboys are making stuff up. Take a look around. This site, Transworld, Facebook, etc. all you see is his fans bagging Suzuki saying that Desalle is there just to block him, Dungey is just lucky, all that Bull**** that spews from them. They can never admit he got beat. Excuse after excuse. Stewart did awesome considering how long its been for him.

Profile Picture
mxmofo wrote: 9:36pm August 16, 2010

JJ0211,, I agree with that.. IMO,, I think JS underestimated his competition a bit,, even though I havent heard from him why he pulled off yet.. He could have a good reason,,, but who knows...

winning 4 oa's in a row and pulling to within 16 pts with 3 races to behind someone who hasn't been able to put 2 good motos together is reeling someone in. If dropping the hammer means losing 22 instead of 25, by southwick you can swap dungey's name for canard's and say cp got "robbed" , AGAIN!

Its funny to read some of the comments on here by people with their heads so far up their own a**es. Here is my take on the weekend. Stewart performed exactly like I knew he would considering he hasn't raced in so long. Blazing fast, but inconsistant. There is a big difference between riding motos at home and racing motos in a national. He rode well considering but has not had to "race" for quite a while, and was obviously spent in the second moto and pulled off in the second moto. He's not in a points race and probably decided it was in his best interest to pull off rather that make a mistake and posibly hurt himself. Give it some time, he will get back up to speed. Has the pack closed up on him in the long run? who knows. Props to Dungey, he impresses me every weekend. So was Desalle at Unadilla in 2009 warming up becasue he knew he would be blocking for Dungey in 2010? Giveme a break. Every year a GP rider or two come to Unadilla becasue its usually an off weekend, and the fact that its the most GP like track we have over here. Coppins, DeDyker to name a few have all raced at Unadilla in the past few years I believe. As far a the 250's, congrats to Canard for closing the gap even more, especially on Pourcel's favorite track where he is super fast. He really suprised me when he realed Canard in the last few laps (although not riding the first moto had to help his endurance a little bit) That could have been the moto for the title If Pourcel wins the title by a few points.

Hasley ????? wtf are you reading my friend??? Where on earth did you read or interpret that I wrote Desalle was there to block for Dungey??? If you go back and reread what I wrote I said the Euros have been doing a one-off at Unadilla for years now, Desalle was there last year just like he was there this year. I was busting on the guys who thought Desalle was there for Dungey. Of course Dungey doesn't need anyone blocking, he pretty much has the class covered. I've been rooting for him sincce he turned pro. So where am I predicting the future? About Pourcell winning the title? Never said that. What I said that if Pourcell does win the title by a point or 2 (Hope not, I'm rooting for Trey) a lot of people will look back at that second moto ride and the valuable points he saved.

Correction, Motohead279. Gareth Swanepoel from South Africa was the only GP rider at Unadilla last year ('09). He did quite well, with a 7-6 score for sixth overall. This was DeSalle's first visit to New Berlin, NY ... and he did even better!

Sef154, Desalle was at Washougal last year, not Unadilla, my bad. Halsey, from what I have heard is a lot of people, a lot of people thought this would be how stewarts day would go. So if we guess right then we all know the future?? thats awesome!!! Just for curiosity how did you think Stewart was going to do last weekend, and will do in the next 3 races. (if he races) I think he will get more consistant and up to a 30 minute race pace as the races go on. Not psychic now, just a guess.

Motohead279,, I really thought JS would win one moto for sure ( 1st moto ).. I just couldnt believe he pulled off in the 2nd moto. I'm hoping this was a wake up call for him, so he will do much better the next few races.. He has been riding for over a month now, so I think he should have been more prepared than he was..

I think he will get progressively better at each race, but there is a huge difference between doing motos at the practice track and racing motos at a national, and he knows that. I was never a huge Stewart fan but I'm pulling for him to get bck up there and mix it up. He will, he just needs some race time.
