Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki's Josh Demuth Scores a Second Place Finish in Ste. Julie
Huntington, TX - The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki team travelled to Circuit de Ste-Julie just outside of Montreal for round six of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. Josh Demuth was hoping to get back on track after a disappointing DNF in the previous weekend and Troy Adams was looking to continue his momentum from his third place finish at the same race. Demuth definitely got back on track with his best result of the series with a second overall. Jack Carpenter also joined the team as a guest rider and rode to a top ten in the second moto.
Troy Adams and Jack Carpenter got decent starts in the first MX1 Pro moto but Adams went down in the first turn leaving him in last place. Unfortunately, Josh Demuth wasn't far ahead of Adams because he was mired in the back of the pack at the start of the race. Demuth rode a solid race and was one of the fastest riders on the track to climb his way onto the podium with a third place finish. Carpenter was riding a solid race in the top ten until another rider fell in front of him taking both riders out in the last couple of laps. Carpenter crossed the finish line in seventeenth with Adams finishing in ninth.
All three Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki riders secured a top ten start in the second MX1 Pro moto. Adams led the team in third with Demuth and Carpenter following close behind. Adams had a great battle for most of the race with Kornel Nemeth for second position. However, Demuth quietly passed a few riders before coming up on Adams to make a pass towards the end of the race. At the end of the race, Demuth crossed the line in third, Adams was fourth and Carpenter finished in tenth.
"Josh rode great today," said team manager Billy Whitley. "I think he would have had a great shot of winning the overall if he would have got a better start in the first moto. In the end, it was a pretty good day with Josh and Troy gaining some ground in the championship points. Plus, we had Jack here today and it was great to see him back on the track."
The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Racing Team will travel to Riverglade MX Park in Moncton, NB on August 1, 2010 for round seven of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals.
