Road 2 Recovery Concludes with Record-Breaking Fundraising Events
Scottsdale, AZ – The Road 2 Recovery® Foundation culminates an amazing Supercross season with two of the biggest fundraisers of the year. The first event, the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross Charity Poker Tournament, which took place on Thursday night at the Hard Rock Poker Lounge, brought in $17,350. This inaugural event benefited the Road 2 Recovery Foundation and the Andrew McFarlane family. Jimmy Button finished in third, with Jimmy Lavorci taking second, and the winner was artist Michael Godard. The top winners took home $2,500 $1,250 and $750 respectively plus sponsored prizes. The top twenty finishers received unforgettable products courtesy Hard Rock Poker Lounge, Monster Energy, Feld Motor Sports, Rockwell Time, Skullcandy, Ogio, DVS, Liquid Force, XBalm, Maxxis, Metal Mulisha, FullTilt, UB, and more.
Friday kicked off the 11th Annual Monster Energy® Golf Classic at the Desert Pines Golf Club in Vegas where the Foundation raised over $81,000. 27 foursomes came out and the competition was fierce, but at the end of the day, the WMG team of Steve Astephen, Jeremy McGrath, Taylor Massey and Chad Reed recaptured their title after losing it last year to the Franklin Law/One Industries Team who took 4th place this year. In 2nd place and back only one stroke was the Feld Motor Sports Cross Club Team of Jeff McBride, Eve Wolf, and Robert Church along with Dana Kellstrom. In a close finish for 3rd was Jared Merrell, Josh Merrell, Leonard Duro, and Carey Hart of Team J Star Motors.
In addition to the poker and golf events, the Road 2 Recovery® Foundation netted an additional $21,000 from the Ebay auctions and souvenirs sold at the race with a season total of over $88,000. The three day Vegas total reached over $120,000. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing sponsors, volunteers and fans.
