Chino, Calif. – Yoshimura R&D of America is pumping out plenty of power, and round 10 of the AMA FIM Supercross series showed proof of that with three Yoshimura-powered bikes on the podium.
In the Supercross class, two Yoshimura-prepped bikes were on top of the box after the tense and rough main event. The dirt was marbled and dry, but Ryan Dungey powered through to a second-place finish. Dungey is leading the class in points and has been getting consistently great finishes. Also on the podium was Honda Red Bull Racing’s Trey Canard, who is filling in for the injured Andrew Short. Canard shot out of the gate in the Main Event and got the holeshot before settling into third place where he crossed the finish line. Canard, contesting the Western Regional Lites class in 2010, has impressively finished on the podium in the last three Supercross races.
Canard’s teammate Davi Millsaps unfortunately finished the night off his bike. After a strong showing in his heat race where he placed second and transferred to the main event. As he was battling for his spot in the top 10, Millsaps had a get off that left him unable to finish the race. With the solid season he’s had so far this year, he’s still fourth in overall points.
In the Eastern Regional Lites class, Austin Stroupe took his Yoshimura-equipped RM-Z250 to the win in Heat #2. Stroupe has been extremely consistent this season, and his confidence is evident in his riding. At the drop of the gate in the Main Event, Stroupe took the second-place position and held on until the finish. His second-place finish in Toronto marks a fourth-straight race in the second spot, and he’s now 7 points out from first place in points for the season.
Round 11 of the AMA FIM Supercross Series takes place in Dallas, Texas, at Cowboy Stadium on March 20. Look for Yoshimura-equipped bikes to be on the podium again!
