Longtime motocross enthusiast and world-class downhill skier Daron Rahlves crashed heavily in the ski cross at the Winter X Games over the weekend, suffering a dislocated hip. But according to USA Today, the 33-year-old Rahlves will be "fully ready to go" for Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. This Olympics features the new ski cross event, which like the event at the X Games in which Rahlves went down, will feature multiple skiers racing down a hill together, lined with jumps, banked turns, off-cambers and dropaways. Rahlves has been a member of Team USA before, albeit as a downhill skier. He is a regular participant at the crossover-athlete motocross races that take place annually at the Hangtown round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.
