Kamo Earns 3rd Overall in H&H Series
Lucerne, CA – Shock Doctor/KTM rider David Kamo earned 3rd for the day and 3rd overall in the series at the final round of the AMA Hare & Hound Series.
Kamo got a decent start running inside the top five behind his teammate David Pearson. KTM support rider Russ Pearson, and winner of the previous round, started outside the top 30 and had to work his way up through the pack to catch the front runners.
By the second of four loops David Pearson had caught up to current leader Destry Abbott and the two riders battled back and forth. “I was feeling really good today. My speed was good and it was fun to race up front with Destry,” commented David Pearson. Behind the two front runners, Kamo and Russ Pearson began to battle for 3rd. “Russ was flying today, he came flying by me and I was able to hang with him for the third lap. We battled until the course came to a split, I went left and he went right,” remarked Kamo. Part way into the third loop David Pearson crashed crushing his radiator and causing him to not finish the race. “I am bummed I had to pull out of the race. I really felt like I had what it took to run up front today and I would have liked to end the season on the podium,” stated David Pearson.
After David Pearson withdrew from the race, Russ Pearson and Kamo moved up a position to take 2nd and 3rd place respectively. On the final loop Russ Pearson caught and passed Abbott for the lead and went on to take the win. Abbott finished 2nd followed by Kamo in 3rd. “Today’s course wasn’t my favorite,” stated Kamo. “It was cool to have four loops but in order to do that we had to backtrack over parts of the course which made for more encounters with lap riders. It made it hard to gauge where I was in relation to Russ as we raced through the riders and the dust. Overall I am happy with my finish and glad to finish the season on the box.”
Russ Pearson was crowned overall Champion, Abbott finished 2nd in the series while Kamo earned 3rd overall.
