If you were looking to run the number 16 next year you can respectfully kiss John Dowd’s sand-covered ass. The venerable 44-year-old veteran secured his famous number yet another year by way of an impressive third overall at Southwick. The popular New Englander seemed ageless to the delight of the hometown crowd and added another chapter to his already solid career. Dowdy is always a pleasure to have on and we are glad to welcome him back.
After bouts on the coveted Factory Connection and Factory Honda teams, Tommy Hahn seemed to have only one way to go. After injury-plagued seasons kept him from realizing his true potential, the young Texan found a ride on the newly formed Motosport Xtreme Kawasaki team in 2008. It was a good fit and the now Canidae Motosport.com Kawasaki outfit is becoming a true force to be dealt with in the pits. Tommy put in a solid season and was rewarded for his hard work with an overall win at Steel City and a top five for the year. Congrats Tommy.
Muscle Milk MDK KTM’s Ryan Sipes has been a good friend of the show since his amateur days. We were excited to see Ryan bounce back from an injury that hampered much of his season to a fourth overall at the final round. We are from Atlanta so his Kentucky draw is easy for us to understand, but we will translate for any flatbillers that can’t quite make him out.
Factory Yamaha’s Josh Hill is looking to push life’s reset button. A nagging back injury and inconsistent results have him wanting to put 2009 in the rear view mirror. He has been testing with some teams and we will find out the latest on his plans for the upcoming season. Love him or hate him, Josh always speaks openly and answers the tough questions head on and we respect that.
Motoendurance.net’s Robb Beams is part of our DMXS team. Our listeners really enjoy his insight and training tips and we will dive into another segment tonight. Please send any specific riding or training questions to dmxsradio@gmail.com and we will answer a few tonight. Best question gets a free DMXS t-shirt delivered by pony express.
Wes Williams and the www.Vurbmoto.com geniuses have crafted what will be the standard in motocross films with the release of EPIC. The cinematography alone is breathtaking, but mixed with motocross like you’ve never seen before and this becomes a must have for any dirtbike fan. We will be giving away some copies over the next several weeks in our Chat Room during the show. Wes will be in studio monitoring the chat and throwing out the questions for the quickest keyboard slingers to answer. Join us during the show for some good bench racing and a chance to win your free copy.
