Honda of Houston’s Kyle Regal at only his third attempt at the MX Sports, Lucas Oils Pro Nationals has put himself inside the top ten.
In the previous rounds Kyle rode the 250 class, but after some discussion in his camp, he decided to give it a try in the premier 450 class.
After posting the sixth fastest lap times, only 2.6 seconds off of the fastest lap set by former Honda of Houston Team rider Josh Grant, Kyle was ready to give it a go. This was Kyle’s first trip to Spring Creek MX at Millville , MN , and he said it was one of the best tracks in the country.
In the first moto, Kyle got a fair start but tangled up with another rider and had to start and the end of the pack. He put in some solid laps and came back to 25th. He said he was able to find some good lines and was ready for second moto.
In the second moto, Kyle got a great start in 9th, but on the 2nd lap again hooked up with another rider. Remounting in 12th, and putting his head down, Kyle started passing riders, pretty much one a lap. At the moto end, Kyle worked right up the back fender of factory Honda rider Andrew Short!
Kyle has been working extremely hard at achieving his goals, and everybody at Honda of Houston and Honda of Houston Racing are very proud of him.
Honda of Houston Team Manager commented,” I have always been a huge Kyle Regal fan, even before he started riding for us, I always admired his never give up attitude. Kyle will be a huge asset for any pro team, and will reward them with hard work dedication, and a strong desire to succeed.”
