Hibbert Hopes to Break Top-Ten at Home State Motocross Race
Hibbert made his pro debut at Spring Creek in 2000 and has only missed one national event at the venue since. Last year, he had one of his career-best rides - finishing 15-12, in a two moto format, for 12 overall. He’s raced two pro motocross events this summer, one in Canada and one in the U.S. After running into bad luck in Canada, he rebounded with a stellar 13-place finish in the first moto at Red Bud on July 4.
Many Minnesota motor sports enthusiasts follow Hibbert’s snocross racing in the winter and motocross racing in the summer. He knows he has an allegiance of fans in the area and hopes they are all at Spring Creek on Saturday to give him the extra push he needs to break into the top-ten. His fans will also have the opportunity to see one of his 2009 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat snowmobiles at the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series’ display.
Racing action begins at Spring Creek on Saturday at noon with practice starting at 8:30 a.m. For more information on the event and to buy tickets, log on to www.springcreekmx.com.
Tucker Hibbert - #69
“It’s always great to be racing in Minnesota. I’ve been racing at Spring Creek since I was on 80s so I’ve spent a lot of weekends there with my family and friends. The Martin’s [who own the track] are a great family and they always make sure the track is prepped perfect. It’s a good feeling knowing I’ll be at a familiar place and close to home.
I know between racing snocross and motocross, I have a lot of fans in the area. I’m excited to see familiar faces around the track. Hopefully my fans can give me the extra boost I need to break the top-ten. I’ve been really close the past two years and feel like Saturday is the day I can make it happen. I’m confident in my equipment and my fitness so if I can get a good start and ride consistent, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be in the top-ten.
