Troy Lee Designs / Seaspan / PPG / Honda Continues to Impress in Salt Lake City
Jake Moss was six and a half laps away from his first professional win last Saturday night in Utah. Moss qualified second in his heat with his teammate Chris Blose behind him in third. Sean Borkenhagen qualified out of the second heat while Jimmy Albertson crashed and would sit the rest of the night out with a sore back. With three strong riders in the main event a podium finish seemed imminent for the Corona, California based team.
When the gate dropped for the final Blose and Moss rocketed to the front and found themselves in second and third, respectively. Jake made a couple quick moves to get around Blose and Dungey and took off with the lead. Meanwhile, Chris continued to hound Ryan Dungey for the second position. After eight laps Jake had a small cushion over Dungey and Blose. And then, in a slippery turn before the whoops, Jake lost his front end and went down. He remounted in seventh, a position he would hold until the finish. Chris Blose tightened up near the end of the race and crossed the line in sixth position just ahead of Moss. Sean Borkenhagen recovered from a bad start to finish eleventh overall, his best finish of the season so far.
The Salt Lake City round marked the end of the west coast series. Troy Lee Designs would like to congratulate Chris Blose on finishing fifth overall in the championship. Chris was the top finishing Honda rider in the series and one of only four riders in the class to make every main event this year [Dungey, Morais and Weimer were the only other riders to accomplish this]. Chris has been an integral part of the Troy Lee Designs/Seaspan/PPG/Honda team this year and we look forward to working with him again next year.
Keep an eye out for all of the team riders next weekend in Las Vegas
as we look to put an exclamation point on the 2009 season.
Troy Lee Designs will also be INTRODUCING NEW 2010 GEAR
this weekend that will definitely turn some heads. See you at the races!
