Mike Schield Passes Away

Calabasas Hills, CA - Mike Schield, former National Sales Manager for Shoei Safety Helmet, passed away Saturday, March 14 at his home in Cedaredge, Colorado. Mike had been fighting severe health issues for most of his life and his body finally gave up the fight. Mike was 54 years old.
Mike worked for Shoei’s exclusive United States distributor, Helmet House in the Product Development department in the early 1980’s before becoming National Sales Manager for Shoei Safety Helmet, a position he held for over 23 years. In 1992, Mike pioneered the Shoei University Seminar program, a national dealer training program that has served as a foundation of Shoei’s sales and marketing efforts as well as a template for countless competitors within the motorcycle industry in training dealers on new products. When Helmet House became the exclusive United States Shoei helmet distributor, Mike served as a consultant between the two companies. During his career in the motorcycle industry, he also owned an accessory store in Crested Butte, Colorado, and represented Hap Jones in Southern California.
Mike is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vicki Schield, and by sons Neil and Nathan, Nathan’s wife Jessica and daughter Alura Lee, as well as Mike’s mother and father Janet and Jim Schield. A memorial celebration of Mike’s life was held March 18 in Cedaredge. Mike Schield was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
