Carlsbad, CA – Reigning World / AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed celebrated his third 2009 Supercross victory Saturday night at St. Louis’ Edward Jones Dome.
Reed captured the win with a substantial lead of nearly five seconds after dueling with his rival for most of the race. After initially leading the race early on, he had to fight back to regain the lead on lap 15 and then went on to dominate the remainder of the race. This weekend’s victory launched Reed to an 11 point lead for the 2009 Monster Energy AMA Supercross with a total of 271 overall points after 12 rounds of racing.
“Practice went really well for me and our lead is now 11 points so I am really happy. We will continue to take it race by race from this point, just as we have all season,” said the defending champion.
The next stop of the AMA Series is this Saturday, March 28th, at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. Race coverage will be televised April 3rd on SPEED TV at 9:00am PST / 12:00pm EST.
Chad Reed would like to thank the following sponsors: Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Thor / Parts Unlimited, Alpinestars and Scott Goggles.
