DMXS Radio Tonight
March 4, 2009 3:59pm
Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing’s Chad Reed is currently tied in the championship points battle after nine rounds with his first win of the season coming in Indy. The timing could not have been better for the fiery Aussie after giving up the points’ lead just one week earlier. The series heads to the fan-favorite Daytona track which just happens to be in the back yard of the top contenders and designed by Ricky Carmichael. Even after RC’s recent success in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, we can confirm that the supercross track will not include any asphalt or banking, but that would have been cool.
Suzuki’s Roger Decoster is like the Mick Jagger or Bob Dylan of motocross. The Man transcends generations and is as relevant today as when he ruled the world as a rider. We will catch up with RD and hear his take on the sport today from his unique and informed perspective.
Factory Red Bull / Honda’s Ivan Tedesco has always been a favorite guest on our show for many years and we look forward to catching up with Hotsauce after a top-five ride last weekend. He has the legendary Johnny O’Mara in his corner this year and is looking to get back where he belongs, on top!
Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Stroupe made up for his bobble in Atlanta by taking his first win of the AMA Supercross Lites East season last weekend and now sits just 14 points behind the leader. Austin will check in as he prepares for his inaugural Daytona appearance.
Supercrosslive.com’s Jason Weigandt will be calling the race this weekend in Daytona much to the delight of his millions of fans. We were lucky to get him on tonight since Jason will be on a whirlwind autograph signing tour during Daytona’s Bike Week. He’s calling it, "I Am the Stimulus Package, Bitch" tour, so make sure you line up early.
Vurbmoto.com’s Wes Williams heading to the Parts Unlimited/Thor Lake Whitney Spring National in Texas with his entire staff ready to bring you extensive coverage from the first gate drop to the last. To even further bring the racing experience to the fans, Vurbmoto has teamed up with Motosport and MotoXDream.com to bring you the Amateur Fantasy Racing League 2009. It’s FREE to play with tons of great prizes for the top team managers, so go to www.Motoxdream.com to sign up and test your skills against the best bench racers in the country. The first round is next week at Lake Whitney and the deadline to enter is Tuesday, March 10, so get off your ass and sign up!
As we mentioned before, the amateur national season is headed to Lake Whitney next week followed by Oak Hill for motocross’s version of a double header. Lake Whitney’s track owner Alan McWilliams will stop by for an update as the amateur world converges at his track in just a few short days. Also, Oak Hills’ Jeff Oldenburg will take a few minutes out of his hectic schedule for an overview on what the riders and fans can expect from their track. FYI: DMXS Radio will be on hand announcing at both rounds so stop by for a hug, or just to say hello.
