Jim Neese Finishes in 3rd in AX Lites
March 3, 2009 12:26pm
Greensboro, North Carolina - The Foremost Insurance Jim Neese Racing Team secured the last podium spot in the Lites class on Saturday night in Reno, Nevada at the Livestock and Events Center. The event in Reno was a doubleheader with racing Friday and Saturday night. Racing for the team was Jim Neese and Josh Thomas. Mike McDade was out with a foot injury.
On Friday, the team faced mechanical issues when Neese's bike would not start. They tried a number of fixes but ultimately had to swap the carburetor with another bike. Jim Neese saw his day go from bad to worse though, as he missed making either of the main events on Friday night.
Josh Thomas qualified for both the Arenacross and the Lites class on Friday, finishing in 14th place in the AX class and 12th in the Lites class.
Neese and Thomas would both finish stronger in the Lites class on Saturday night with Neese in third and Thomas in eighth place. Neither rider qualified for the Arenacross main event on Saturday night.
"I was happy to be able to get a Lites podium this weekend after the problems I had on Friday. We struggled with my bike and it really affected my results. Josh Thomas rode well all weekend. I was hoping for a better finish from one of us in the AX class, but we will have to wait for the next race. I will be headed down to Daytona next weekend and then it will be back to racing in Wilkes Barre, Pennslyvania," commented Jim Neese.
