DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing Heads to Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA – Team DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing will compete at the famous Daytona Supercross by Honda this Saturday, March 7. Augie Lieber will look to impress in his home state while teammate Teddy Parks seeks to improve on his impressive finish in Houston. Steve Roman has recently been added to the team after solid lap times in two previous rounds. The Daytona Supercross, part of the AMA Supercross series, is the oldest stop on the tour.
Rookie Parks currently sits in 24th in the 250cc East Region AMA Supercross standings. Both Lieber, who hails from Loxahatchee, Florida, and Parks of Princeton, Texas have made the evening program for all four East Region Supercross rounds this year with Parks qualifying for two of three main events. Roman of Apollo, Penn. raced at the Atlanta and Indy rounds with lap times similar to his teammates and will continue with the team through the rest of the East Region Supercross rounds. At round three in Indianapolis this past weekend, Lieber finished 10th in his heat race, while Roman finished 13th and Parks finished 16th in their heat. The three riders were unable to make the main event in the highly-competitive 250 class and are looking forward to the challenging Daytona track.
“Daytona is the ultimate destination for motorcycle racing--and any motorsport for that matter--so we are super pumped to support our guys and bring more exposure to our sponsors,” said Tim Shea, team manager. “With Florida being home to DNA Energy Drink, we look forward to representing them at the highest level on and off the track along with our other sponsors including PowerBar. Tens of thousands of out-of-towners will be here for Daytona Bike Week and our goal is to get many, many more people aware of great-tasting DNA Energy Drink. Of course, we also want do anything we can to get Augie, Teddy and Steve in the main event!”
The Daytona Supercross is considered to be the toughest track on the tour. The long, rough course is built on the Daytona International Speedway infield and has been designed by five-time AMA Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael for the second-straight year. The race is the only round of the series not held inside a stadium.
