Riders

Riders throughout the southeast will continue a tradition this weekend (Nov 28-29) as they pack up the leftover turkey and head out to the opening event of the 08-09 FMF INDOOR MX WINTER Series. The WNC Ag Center in Fletcher (Asheville), NC is host to this weekend’s event which will feature 34 classes of riders on bikes and ATVs.

Since 1992 this event has featured bar-to-bar racing between some of the nations up and coming pros as well as fast amateur riders. The event is arenacross racing in tight quarters which makes for a super exciting show. Four old Pee Wees on the tiny bikes to the Pros it will an action packed event. Last year it was Zach Osborne, Tyler Bowers, Robbie Horton, Jim Chester, and Matt Shue battling for the win. Osborne took the win, but it was Horton who hung tough and won the series championship.

Yamaha and Suzuki are scheduled to pay factory contingency for these events even though Suzuki’s hasn’t been confirmed as they don’t have their contingency schedule posted yet. The AMA Pro-Am purse along with the contingency makes this an attractive event for the pro riders.

It will be two full days of racing with a full program each day. Practice is at 12:00 noon and the main events are at 7:00pm both days.
