AURORA, Ill. – After many years of loyal support for Monster Energy® Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and Monster Jam, the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) and Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) will make its foray into the AMA Arenacross Series as a national sponsor for 2009, becoming the series’ Official Technical Institute.
“The program that MMI has built at Monster Energy® Supercross will be a great fit at the AMA Arenacross Series,” said Jayme Dalsing, director of arenacross, Feld Motor Sports. “It will give the mechanics that keep the sport running an opportunity to make some extra money while reaching out to a core audience of future students. We are very excited to have MMI on board.”
One of the most recognizable names in the motorcycle industry, MMI offers career training with a hands-on approach in its manufacturer supported and branded technician training programs. In its first year as an AMA Arenacross Series sponsor, MMI will make its presence felt by introducing the “Top Tech Award,” which will be awarded each Saturday of the 11-race season. In tradition with their hands-on approach and hard working philosophy, MMI will reward a $250 check to the technician that displays the tenacity and determination beyond his competitors.
“Motorcycle Mechanics Institute is looking forward to sponsoring the 2009 AMA Arenacross series,” said Director of Motor Sports and Event Marketing Terry Emig. “This series gives MMI significant access to the enthusiasts that attend these events each weekend. The goal of becoming the Official Technical Institute of the series is to educate fans and provide awareness regarding the career opportunities within the motorcycle industry. We will also offer the MMI Top Tech Award at each Saturday night race on Saturday nights to the technician that goes above and beyond to get their rider to the main event.”
Additionally, race nine of the 2009 AMA Arenacross Series on February 21-22 from ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif., brought to you by Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. MMI will expand upon their sponsorship duties to house several promotional events for the AMA Arenacross Series from their Sacramento area campus.
The 2009 AMA Arenacross Series kicks off on January 2-4, 2009 from Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.
