SPOKANE, WA – MotoConcepts Racing, Motocross (MCRMX) announced today the hiring of Al Albiker as the 2009 Team Manager in charge of race operations.
“I am looking forward to this opportunity,” said Albiker who has been with KTM for the last 10 years. “This MCRMX team has enormous potential to be one of the best team’s on the circuit.”
Albiker was an integral part of the amateur support and amateur racing for KTM before joining the Red Bull KTM team in 2005 as Zach Osborne's mechanic. In 2007 Albiker was called upon to be Mike Alessi’s mechanic on his championship run, finishing 2nd. In 2008 KTM appointed Albiker as the team manager of the newly formed KTM Factory JR team winning multiple National Championships and a Loretta Lynn Championship.
“We like the experience Al brings to the team and to our mechanics,” said Team Owner Mike Genova. “He was a major factor in Mike Alessi’s run at a championship, and we know Al can give the same support and experience to his brother Jeff.”
Jeff Alessi will compete in the 2009 250 East tour and will make his MCRMX Supercross debut on a MDK/HondaCRF250, January, 24th in Houston, TX. Current European Supercross leader Ben Coisy, Australian Factory Honda rider Daniel McCoy, and returning MCRMX rider Cole Siebler will make their MCRMX debut January 3rd at the opening round of the 2009 AMA Supercross Series in Anaheim, Calif.
