Virtual Trainer: Agility Training for MX

Agility is one of those athletic traits that is hard to quantify. When you look at an athlete you can just tell if he or she has it. Unfortunately, a lot of motocross athletes and trainers have completely omitted agility training from their repertoire. This is a shame since agility exercises help train the fast twitch muscle fibers needed for better speed, reaction time, and quickness; all of which are important when racing motocross.

In this article, I talk about what it means to be agile and how a rider can add this type of training to a workout either as a complete agility program or as an additional exercise tacked on at the end of a workout. The good news is that the benefits of agility training can be seen quickly and it doesn't take a lot of time to do this type of training.
