(April 15, 2008—San Diego, California) On a scorching hot Saturday in Southern California more than 70 of the Nation’s top motocross riders turned out at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium for this year’s Navy Moto X World Championships. DVS Pro Matt Buyten took it to the skies to win Gold in the Step Up Event.
After three consecutive failed attempts at the 35-foot marker, DVS rider Matt Buyten and former X-Games Gold medalist Ronnie Renner went into sudden death overtime. After winning the judges coin toss, Buyten earned the right to take the first crack at the bar. Buyten didn’t need a second chance and cleared the bar on his first try to claim Gold. Congrats Matt!
