Mike Lafferty Injured

Red Bull KTM Factory Off-Road rider Mike Lafferty was injured last Friday while practicing near his hometown in Millville, NJ.

The eight-time National Enduro Champion was busy practicing for the fourth round of the AMA National Enduro Series when he wrecked into a tree. The crash broke Lafferty’s foot in several places. He currently has it pinned and is awaiting surgery later on this week.

“Right now it looks like I’ll be out for at least eight weeks. Although, I will miss the next round in Texas I plan to return as soon as I am healed to compete in the remaining rounds this season,” commented Lafferty.

Lafferty is currently first in overall points in the AMA National Enduro Series over teammate Russell Bobbitt. “I’m upset that I can’t be there this weekend to defend my title, but the season’s not over yet,” remarked the still optimistic Lafferty.

In addition to competing in the AMA National Enduro Series, Lafferty will also contend the AMA EnduroCross Series for the Red Bull KTM Team once he is healed.
