PRENTISS, MS (April 7, 2008) – For the 2nd straight year, the Loretta Lynn South Central Area Qualifier tour makes a stop at Golden Pine Raceway. This year’s event is co-sanctioned with the District 19 Championship Series and is presented by Got Gear Motorsports.
In addition to the Loretta Lynn schedule of classes, there will be some additional classes offered to give riders extra track time in advance of qualifying classes. Two prime examples are Saturday’s Open Vet 30 and 14-24 Open Amateur class that will offer a good warm up for many racers who typically only get to race on Sunday’s at Area Qualifiers.
The weekend will get kicked off on Thursday:
Thursday, April 10th – Early arrivals starting at 12 PM
Friday, April 11th – Organized practice from 10AM – 3 PM
Saturday, April 12th – Practice at 7:30 AM / Racing at 10 AM
Sunday, April 13th – Practice at 7:30 AM / Racing at 10 AM
Golden Pine Raceway is a relatively new racing venue boasting one of the finest tracks in District 19. The track sits on a 91 acre facility with the perfect terrain and soil composition for motocross. With unmatched elevation changes in the region and rich, sand based soil, the track is a rider favorite.
In addition to the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier, Golden Pine Raceway plays host to the AMA Mississippi State Championship and AMA Pro-Am in September. Additionally, a Ponca Qualifier and a host of other series including the Gulf Coast Championship Series, Honda of Lafayette Winter Series, Miss. Lou. Al. Cup, Mississippi Motocross Championship Series, Big Chill Series, and the District 19 Championship Series all make stops at Golden Pine Raceway.
